Will it be another century for Virat Kohli?
176/3 after 34.4 overs. Nice batting from the middle order after a long time. I think India will have a good score tonight, more than 300. Possible?

Really, you think that Indian bowlers should defend 160 runs in the ODI  Smiley You should rethink the target score else India will lose the match. Grin

The ways things are moving, India will score above 250 and will easily win this match .

My bad. I meant 260 but now it looks tough as Rohit went for just 18 and they lost Pant too. They need to again rethink about the 4th position.  Roll Eyes

Now all depends on Virat else again they will end up at 200 or max 220. They should have crossed 150 long back.

Edit: 18 more runs to 100 for Virat. *Fingers crossed*

India is winning all the tosses and Kohli is always gambling with his choices.
There was time when Kohli was having no luck when it comes to the toss not too long ago especially during IPL and now he is winning them consecutively which is weird Grin.

This means we can bet on India winning the toss in the next matches  Smiley
Kohli is not only winning the toss but also winning the matches.

Dhawan is really playing badly after his injury. He must have not practiced since then. :-(
I blame Dhawan here as his form is anyways bad.
He performed well in the world cup until his injury and now he is coming after an injury, give him some time to regain his confidence  Wink. India does not have other openers to consider.

I feel 150-160 is a good score against WI today.
Hopefully you are aware that this is not T20 for India to defend a score like 160  Tongue.

Kohli is eyeing for another century by the way he is playing and Iyer could give him good support at the other end.

Dhawan gone! They had to review it and it reminds me of the umpires of Eng Vs Aus now. Dhawan is really playing badly after his injury. He must have not practiced since then. :-(

I am happy for him as now he is in politics because we need peoples like him very clean and good person hopefully he will be remembered as good in his new department even I hate this I have never good experience in this dirty politics but we still can hope peoples like him can give new directions.

True, but its hard to find honest person in recent times.

Bro its not T-20 match Tongue but ODI. 150 runs are easy peasy, unless we witness major collapse and India lose 7 wickets with in 49 runs.

Pant was looking okay but he went for bad shot selection once again. Poor guy

I'm for India so I wish WI don't take more wickets Cheesy

I am neutral and it does not matter much if India wins or WI but in such matches, i prefer to support the weaker team as if the weaker team wins or become close to win, the match turns out to be an interested one. If the stronger team wins (India in this case), then mostly its a one sided match.

^If he keeps playing badly, they'll drop him too soon. These selectors want to take more newbies in the cricket team after the WC loss but as we have seen, it's mostly the old players like Rohit, Jadeja, Dhoni and Virat who stood strong in the matches. Dhawan's injury proved worse for him.

I don't like Pant's batting much but he is able to get a good partnership in matches so he's fine.

Dhawan seemed to have lost his form thanks to his injury recently which is sad. Cottrell is emerging as one of the best bowlers in the West Indian team and his salute stance is simply awesome. Its up to Kohli and Sharma once again to pile on the runs.

If these guys get going, its game over for West Indies in my opinion. Shreyas is in the 5th position and Pandey isn't playing in this match which is a good change in my opinion.

India lose their first wicket quickly in today 2nd ODI. Thanks to the West Indies skipper who took the third umpire review and it turned out to be in their favor. Now WI should take advantage of it and put some more pressure on the Indian batsmen. Remember the first match was washed out so officially this will be their first one day between the both teams in this series.

India is winning all the tosses and Kohli is always gambling with his choices. Last time he chose to bowl and today bat when it doesn't seem to rain anytime soon. They pushed Shreyas to 6 and chose Pandey for the 4th position. They still are confused as usual lol

Guys! 2nd ODI in few hours. I may not be able to watch it. For last two days I am having some busy time in personal life however I will try to hangout here once I come back home. Not sure when I am leaving.
By the way, it's Gayle's 300th ODI!
I was not aware that the ODI series is underway, just got a pop in my mobile that India won the toss for the second ODI and then i came to know that there was a tournament on going after the T20 Shocked. The reason i missed the first ODI was that i was busy with my life too and the first match was a washout and hence i never got any updates in my mobile.
We will see the entire match today as the weather is good and i am rooting for India to win here simply because of their quality bowling.

Rahul was given enough chances, and now they should give some opportunities for younger players such as Sreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. Rahul's performance in the world cup was not up to the mark and in India there is no dearth of young talent to fill the no.4 position. Also, the matches against WI represent an ideal opportunity to test some of the younger players.

Rahul was pretty good in WC and how was his performance not up to the mark? He got 111 against SL and 48 against WI in the WC and that to as an opening batsmen where he had to prove himself. They are using this series as an experiment by taking Shreyas and not giving a talented player a chance but hope he gets to play in Test matches else they just keep forgetting about the good players.

I have not much idea about Indian cricket resources however I have seen performance from Sreyas Iyer in IPL. He seems a fine player. It will be interesting to see him in the squad. Pant is already there. He just needs to prove him that he is fit for ODI matches.

India are still struggling for the 4th position batsman and don't know why they are busy experimenting with new batsmen instead of going with the experienced batsmen Rahul. If they are going with Iyer, I don't find him a better batsmen.

Suresh Raina went through a knee surgery recently. Feel really bad for him since he was dropped from WC and now has no upcoming matches too. Does anyone know which match he'll be playing next. I barely see him in ODI and test matches now and he's not even included in this test series against WI.

Surgery was successful.

I like him as a person, very down to earth kind of guy off-camera and real life. He used to be very handy cricketer for India as well but his career almost finished when he didn't perform according to his reputation in England tour. And we are not going to see him in blue jersey ever. Even if he gets the new opportunity to play for India (very unlikely)  Then his format is T-20, not ODI or test format.
Here is latest picture about Raina all his fans and cricket community waiting for his quick and positive come back in cricket ground

I was shocked when he dropped his captaincy midway through one of the previous IPL seasons(Delhi Daredevils), but Shreyas proved to be a better captain in comparison.

He even refused to take his fees voluntary ( around half million dollars ) when he performed below average for kkr. Thats how he lived his all life. He knows how to lead or set an examples for other people. That's why he's so respected among everyone even critics. he goes over board here and there but that's gambhir for you.

Sometimes I think he played in the wrong Era. He belongs to 60s-70s.
