Temperatures:
What are the safe temps for the miner? I was 67C for Eco mode, now I'm at 71 - 73 for Balanced mode. Before I try out turbo mode, I'd like to know at what temperature I need to throttle it back?

Yes sorry for the delay on this was supposed to have these out by now but ran into some issues with windows binaries..will at the very least release the linux binaries on Monday.

Are the binaries for Apollo I being updated as well or is that project abandoned?

It's been a few years since the last update.

December 2021: https://github.com/jstefanop/Apollo-Miner-Binaries/releases

Nope completely updated codebases for both Apollo I and Apollo II being released hopefully by tomorrow.

Is anybody able to connect Sparrow to the node with the new UI? Did you change anything in the bitcoin.conf file? Not able to connect... (User is "futurebit", right?)

Next point release has a one button "Enable wallet connections to my node" with instructions to make this dumb proof.

Editing the bitcoin.conf file in UX was still not easy enough so hopefully this takes care of most use cases.

Any update on releasing the miner binaries to run Apollo 2 Standard Units from an external PC? Sorry to be pushy, I am just eager to get my unit up and running Smiley

I second this.

Thirding this I suppose. I thought it would work with the old script and I was just doing something wrong.

Rejected Shares:
I understand that occasional rejected shares are to be expected. However, I am curious at what point does someone become concerned about them? Over three days I have 17,000 rejected shares, and 205,000,000 accepted shares. My percent of rejected shares is extremely low, so this is more of a curiosity.

Looking for transactions:
I sent a test transaction to my address. If I want to see how long it takes to show up on my node, is there a tool built into the Apollo II setup? Or do I need to use another resource to search the data in my node?

Finding a block:
If I win the lottery and find a block, will my miner tell me? Or do I just need to monitor my wallet?

Thank you for your feedback.

Thanks for letting me know. By chance, speaking of the initial boot up, my router flagged two malware activities (categorized as phishing/deception) as soon as I connect to the network. By chance would you know if these are false negatives? I can’t get any detail out of the ISP router, and my pfsense router won’t be online for a few weeks. See attached.

Many A/V software still flag any crypto mining activity as malware (because some malware install stealth crypto miners), so my first guess at least would be that!

Thank you. I am fully syncing and have 30-32 connections.  So I assume whatever my Eero router blocked is not hurting anything.

I had a power blip at the house for a split second and the miner did not like it. It was in shutdown mode with the high fan. Any way to have it auto restart? Nothing else in the house was reset.

Would you have any tips or steps via SSH to enable RDP to work from Windows devices? Before flashing it back to default 2.0.4 today, I seemed to be able to get it working from a network perspective, but when I logged in (I could see and use the xRDP login screen via RDP for example), the RDP screen just shows a mouse pointer and a sea green background color, and I can't do anything.  I would try using the GnomeRDP which I believe I could enable fairly easily via the Ubuntu GUI, but since I don't have a monitor working with the Apollo 2 yet, I can't do it that way - if you know the SSH commands to do so, I'd try those but I haven't found them yet.  I know you guys don't support the general Ubuntu OS, but I think sorting our the remote access to the Apollo unit would be a benefit to all, especially with the monitor limitations, and I'd be happy to help test and get that working.  I appreciate it!

I managed to get xrdp to work after installing xorgxrdp

I have been running Apollo v1 node since inception and  now with Apollov2 i'm asked what is my wallet address.

Also where is the wallet address of our node? Don't really understand that part thought do understand bitcoin wallets with password in general.

That's for the SOLO mining feature, and points where the mining payout would go if you mined a SOLO block.  I am not sure how it functions in regard to mining to a pool instead, but I assume you need to provide a payout wallet address there too.  As I understand it (and what the guide says), there is no wallet installed on the Apollo 2 node by default due to security issues - you can install one manually, but you have to understand what you're doing and secure it.  I'd recommend you use another wallet instead, like a hardware wallet, and point it to your node if possible (which can also be difficult - Ledger used to support it for example, but its an experimental feature now to use your own node and I was not able to get mine working very well when I was using an Umbrel node in the past)

On initial sync you won't get more than 10 connections. Once it's fully synced you'll get your full 32

Issue: 10/32 Connections

Sorry for asking about this, but I'm not finding an answer within the forum. I've set up my Apollo II and it is performing the initial sync. I have opened up port 8333, and validated using an external connection the port is open. I am still only showing 10/32 connections on a solid gigabit ISP. Is there anything I can do to increase the connections? I'm connected using wired ethernet.

Thank you for your time.
