Change browser settings according to your requirements and by blocking casino adds as well as gambling sites, is good idea. Thus a gamble  will visit less in these websites and so he would place less bets then before as usual. Even if you have installed any gambling related apps or software in your devices then you should use lock so that whenever you want to go there you need to unlock first. It'll warn you that trying to inter gambling website. Those poses will work for them who can control them self already otherwise sus set up and work for any addicted person. Cause any person become addicted then nothing will stop them from gambling

That's really a good idea, blocked those gambling sites to your devices to prevent daily checking and possible placing of bets. That's one of the best way to lessen the gambling time consuming activity and to avoid the bad habits that gambling brings to a person. You can do that if you are not in the worst part of being addicted to gambling because if you look at it, a person obsessed with gambling can do different ways just to gamble. It even reaches the point where they can neglect and leave their family just so they can focus more on gambling. It is based on a true story where a father in another country left his young twin children just to satisfy the he wants to play.

Limiting access to devices can help someone not look at what is on their device too often and can divert their attention to other things. He will only use his device if there is a call from it or if he looks at it occasionally. He won't be triggered to scroll through his social media feed to see what other people are doing. This gives him the advantage that he can overcome his gambling addiction and will also not be dependent on his devices. He can try to increase his physical activity to keep or divert his mind from wanting to open his device. Moreover, his desire to open his device and gamble will decrease when he becomes busier with physical activity. Perhaps this needs to be tried for those who still open their devices too often so that they can see the results in the future.
Limited access to device sounds like good idea but the problem with this is that some persons have got a whole lot going on in their device so limited access to the device would means that they will not be able to do all that which they usually don on their device except for gambling because I believe that's not all that's done on their device.

This idea is good but may not be as effective as expected of it because most persons will not want such limited access to their device expect they have two or more then they can be sure to work on their device ment for work and avoid going beyond that, if at any point gambling online is posing serious issues to anyone I think it will be much better if such person will just seek for help professionally that way they will be able to tackle this addiction even in the midst of all this challenges around trying to quit gambling especially online gambling.
What is the meaning of limiting access? turn off mobile data or block access to online gambling access? If what you mean is limiting access to online gambling. How do you do it if someone addicted and when their cellphone has blocked the site, they will open it again if they want to do so, or if they turn off cellular data, this doesn't mean that a gambler can't gamble without internet. But can he still survive without an internet connection because currently every cellphone needs an internet connection to access anything, not just gambling.

It's true that in my opinion this is also not very effective because it's useless if we limit someone's access, but if someone still has the intention to continue gambling he will continue to do it, someone who is addicted to online must be able to control themselves to be able to stop, they can avoid it by doing other activities so they don't think about it. by playing online gambling slowly with professional help, over time he can recover from his addiction.

Yeah, you are very right, as long as gambling is concerned, self control is one paramount features we all must have as individuals, self control plays the important role of making sure that we at all times puts ourselves in full check to avoid ourselves from over gambling, which to me is the corner stone when it comes to things like gambling addictions, losses we can't bare and so on.

So, to every gambler, self control is very important, I could remember in the year 2022 when I made one of my highest mistake in gambling, lost amount of money I could not afford to lose, I completely stayed away from gambling for more than 11 months, that is almost a year, and while I was always participating in gambling discussion here, what helped me to not gamble for that long period of time was self control, as without it, I would gone back into gambling in less than 2 months after that loss, and this is because, being here all the time, I kept seeing things that triggered my urge to want to put up some bets, but I was always able to overcome that urge by self control.

The gambler who get anger in the gambling will never earn anything from the gambling, because when the gambler loss the money he should not get anger. The gambler should think about the loss, then he should learn the strategy for the gambling. The self control of the emotions after the loss was important one in the gambling. The gambler must understand the reality of the gambling, because only the gamblers who don’t understand the reality will revolt against the gambling site. The good experienced gambler will not worry about the loss, they will wait for the exact time to recover the entire loss in the gambling site.

That's right, we ourselves become the enemy when we want to stop addiction. Whatever type of addiction it is, smoking, gambling and so on. Without self-will, control is very difficult. I've experienced that. When I was very active in gambling, it felt like every day I wanted to play, no matter how much deposit I made, at least I had to play. However, because I was made aware by members of this forum, I started to control myself not to force myself to gamble every day. Once again he reminded me, don't focus on winning, because focusing on winning will make us even more eager to keep depositing when we lose. These words, coupled with personal decision to control my self from gamble, made me successful in not gambling for quite a long time, last few weeks i play a gambling, but I always limit from initial deposit no more $20, except i get a big win, sometimes I'm back with more bigger, as far as i already made a withdrawal more than i deposited both initial and additional, if no withdrawal i will stop till next week. In essence, ourselves is the key.
Agreed and same time noted, stopping addictions are hard even with your budget.
One can not do all this when he's not disciplined, so before a gambler can stop there addiction theu have to make sure that they are also disciplined. Also, greed is another thing that makes some gamblers remains were they are instead of stopping or trying to reduce the addict, they will want to win but noth sure about the predictions and they stake high and lastly the game have to lose because their mind is just about to win.
People would only stop on the time that they cant literally be able to play just because they dont have anything on their pocket for them to play on. It is really just that there are ones who could be able to have that control and there are ones who couldnt. This is why we do see different conditions and situations because of peoples different taking and reaction been made on the time that they are experiencing such issues on which we do know that this is something that will really differ to each other.  The most important stuff that you should consider out is on how to make up good decisions
and make up good actions for you not to be able to put up some effect into your life specially on financial aspect on which we know that this is where usually gamblers do really end up
miserable due to this situation or condition.

True, gamblers will only be able to quit gambling if they have completely run out of money at a certain time, but on the other hand this is not always the last point for addicted gamblers because basically they always have a way or even justify all means to get money to fund their gambling activities,
Like you said, it can be difficult to stop gambling. If someone gambles to the point where they have to take out a loan to cover the interest, they will never be able to pay it back. They may try to run away from their creditors or commit a terrible deed out of guilt, but it is inevitable that they will take out a loan just to place another wager. However, I am of the opinion that there are many different approaches that can assist people who are already addicted to gambling in overcoming their problem.

I think that there are some online casinos or even physical casinos that offer self-exclusion programs. I mean, you can restrict your access to gambling opportunities by intentionally removing yourself from these situations.
On the other hand, you might be able to replace gambling with other interests. You could be able to kick your gambling problem if you gradually started doing things like taking up a hobby, exercising, or interacting with friends and family to refocus your attention and energy.

Yes that's right, every gambler has a difference in terms of addressing and treating their gambling activities, some are still within reasonable limits and conversely many are always excessive like addicts. I think all of this is a choice whether you want to end up in a slump or vice versa by being in a safe and comfortable situation by always applying good boundaries and self-control, unless indeed you never know about what bad effects there are in gambling.

That's good if the person is really aiming to prevent any involvement or any thing that relates into gambling he should have this control inside him, it's not an easy task which not everyone can easily practice but with the kind of determination it's not impossible to work it out inside you, just focus and think of it as an everyday challenge to you.

Coping up and trying to move yourself away from gambling needed that complete focus, every thing is count for the betterment of yourself.

Good thing that you manage to control after suffering from that bad start, it's important to have that will to drive yourself and to make sure that you will be able to adjust, if you can limit yourself and you can follow whatever the setup it will develop good attitude and will allow you to make sure that you are in control of your gambling habit.

Which will allow you to enjoy while playing, and if by luck you'll be able to take some decent amount of money but will be able to manage to minimize potential losses as well.

Increasing offline activities maybe become effective in preventing us from gambling online.

I agree with this. Getting so busy with offline activities will create distractions for the gambler that can aid in reducing online gambling. This can be effective because soon it will be made clear to the gambler that he can be happy without gambling.

However, this must also be ensured that when he is alone, with no friends to talk, he can use his time to sleeping. As soon as he wakes up, he has to stay away from gadgets again. If he want to open his gadget, use it for other things that don't trigger the desire to gamble.

This sounds more like a riddle to me than a solution lol! Does it mean he should always sleep when he has no one around? How long will he continue to sleep to prevent gambling? Maybe you are ignorant of the mind of a gambler. Sleep doesn`t prevent anything. This is just like telling someone to take alcohol to get over something. As soon as his eyes are clear he will remember the thing which means the problem wasn`t solved. In my opinion, the gambler should permanently deactivate all his online accounts, unfollow all gambling-related pages and groups in his social media handles, and start participating in other activities not gambling-related but entertaining.

The great city of God 🔥
I have seen several topics here and other discussion thread where many people talked about gambling addiction. So many procedures been stated to follow sequentially to reduce the rate at which one frequently visit online gambling sites and possibly their application if they do have any of them.

I remember in one of the threads I raised up a point which was long hidden as the thread became too numerous and lengthy to continue the conversation on that topic. It was my opinion to add up in profering solutions to gambling addiction. I believe not too many people saw it to to say something about it so that is why I had to bring it up as a topic hear. I want to hear your opinion and ideas towards it.

Here is it;

I am of the opinion that since gambling sites are mostly online and some has adds that pops up as advert on visited site, one should be able to disable or change their browser settings  by blocking casino adds and as well disabling  gambling sites on their browser settings so as not to gain access to it anymore till the number of days they deem fit to their resolve. This was just a little tip I gave as a possible solution. I had to put it up here for further discussions so that the bigger community can see it as  well.

If you feel or think here is not the right place for this you can say it. I am open to corrections as we all are here to learn.
1. Don't play gambling out of your budget. Make sure there is a proposed amout you have programmed for it every weekend.
2. Don't make it a hubby by alway visiting the site more often otherwise you become addicted.
3. When you are playing gamble and your loss is more often than win, you stop and take a break.
4. Don't play with emotion or aggression. Whenever you are playing a game and you  see you see that the wining is not coming and you loose the more, it is better you qiut than continue Playing otherwise you will use aggression of trying to win and waist all your funds.

Not seeing does not mean you can get over your addiction, addiction cannot be cured that way, when there's a yearning to play a gambler will find a way to play, that is why restricting oneself from playing in a casino a gambler playing is useless, to overcome addictions, you need professionals you need to stop the symptoms and the urge and this can only happen with the help of professionals, self-cure will not help you overcome addiction it may even get your addiction worse, your recommendation will not eradicate addiction.
Steps to stop online gambling addiction are to limit the use of devices that can give him access to visit casino sites. Besides that, they also have to start a new habit related to physical activity so that their minds can be distracted by doing this activity. This can be successfully tried for those who still have difficulty avoiding online casino sites so that they can slowly reduce their gambling activities and even prevent them from visiting those online casino sites. But to do all that requires a strong desire to reduce their gambling activities because they have experienced the negative impact of frequent gambling. If they really try, they will succeed in reducing their gambling activities and will no longer be addicted to gambling.
Limiting device access is a good start - like a Do Not Disturb sign for temptation. Realistically, it's more than keeping gadgets out of reach.

Using a do not disturb sign is a good one if it is possible to use. That would help reduce the pop up effect of gambling websites on your screen which would have been a nuisance to you.

I really think limiting device access would be a thing of determination because once addicted to your device, you can not do away with it because of the nature of things and possibly if you work with your device, the possibility of doing away with it would be very minuit because of your engagement.

It is really more than you keeping your gadgets out of your reach because addiction is not a day it took to develop but time and stopping it would also take time too. So therefore, I think you have said it right that it is more than keeping gadgets out of reach.

Having alternative activities that will keep you busy will allow you to lessen the chance of thinking about any gambling related activities, if you can help the person to be attracted and be engage with another physical activities like sports or any types of exercises which will give them some refreshment, though addiction also have different levels if you can help to avoid getting to deep and still can cope up with doing some kind of entertainment you can push the person to change up and to completely move away from this bad habit.

Increasing offline activities maybe become effective in preventing us from gambling online. In fact, opening social media can make people who initially didn't want to gamble, become thinking to gamble again. The reason is easy, the cache on the device or browser will usually personalize the ads, if you gamble frequently, then gambling ads will appear on our social media pages.

That's good if the person is really aiming to prevent any involvement or any thing that relates into gambling he should have this control inside him, it's not an easy task which not everyone can easily practice but with the kind of determination it's not impossible to work it out inside you, just focus and think of it as an everyday challenge to you.

Limiting device access is a good start - like a Do Not Disturb sign for temptation. Realistically, it's more than keeping gadgets out of reach. Understanding why someone gambles is key. Was it boredom? Is it thrilling? Knowing this helps improve strategies. Physical activity? Great idea! They're regret-free endorphin concoctions. Rewiring the brain to like healthy activities is key. Addiction recovery isn't solo. Support from friends, family, or professionals is needed. It takes a strong support network and strong will. Small victories matter on the path.

Your ideas are quite alright and I think this is or should be amongst the good strategy to be adopted by those who think they are addicted to gambling and would want to try means of gradually stoping it.

Alternative engagement should be in the plan because that would distract them from gambling as the time they should be spending gambling is been used for another activities that have taken their attention. If that continues regularly, the urge to gamble would drastically reduce as that time for gambling is taken for another engagement.
However, this can be achieved when a gambler does such plan with his or her friend who is aware and willing to help stop the addiction.

Once a someone has developed an addiction to online gaming, I don't think quitting will be simple. One issue about gambling is that it might be hard to break the habit if it's ingrained in you or if it makes you feel addicted. That's how you play without getting anything out of it, even if you're still losing. However, some people think they will always win a bet, regardless of the circumstances. A person who enjoys gambling shouldn't compare himself to those legendaries because it has been a while since they were in it and they also have sufficient understanding about it.
The worst impact of addictions is that,  you will not gain anything out of it at the end of the day, and that feelings make them become worse after all,  I am against uncontrollable addictions and this level is the disaster level because, at this stage of addiction, a the gamblers can do anything just to take a shout one more time,  this makes him to go into debt or even selling personal belonging just to gamble at all cost,  this makes it a worst case at all time.

So best to never even go close to possible addiction tendencies,  because pulling back from it is almost always impossible at some point.
