All I know is these testnets and airdrops are referral-based so if there is a board created for that purpose what will stop people from posting referral links which is against the forum rule, if you want to teach people about testnet and airdrop and you care why not create your website and create an announcement thread here and promote it on your signature space.

Excuse me for my skepticism, but word "airdrop" and "testnet" in same sentence reminds me of how certain group attack Bitcoin Testnet. They create airdrop which require people to either give them testnet coin or perform testing using testnet, where such testing could be done easily by themself. This have at least 3 negative impact,
1. Giving incentive to buy/sell testnet coin.
2. Other people (primarily software developer) have harder time to obtain testnet coin.
3. Make testnet blockchain size grow quickly.

Anyway, i agree you could use "Altcoin Discussion" board to create a thread where you share list of aridrop you think worth our time.

Yes, many airdrops and testnets are scams. That is where research is important, and my existence as a researcher. Likewise, like investing in altcoins, of course many alt coins are scams, but we need to do research before investing. Right?
The forum already have an altcoin board where all that concerns alternative cryptocurrencies and project could be discussed, a bounty campaign board for its promotion amongst other uses and like it’s been said before hand, freebies isn’t a thing here, coupled with the fact that, the forum would be one place short of not having these cams projects Huber around to spread malware, infiltrate and scam good mind as well as ignorant users on the forum.

We are better off without it, rest this!

Regarding your statement that many people need tutorials about Testnet and Airdrops, I do not think this forum is the right place, because Testnet and Airdrops are full of scams and the forum does not encourage them at all.

The Testnet is mainly for experimental and educational purposes but unfortunately some scammers use  Testnet coins to scam and defraud beginners.

In addition, as most members mentioned above, there are already a lot of sections and topics present in the Altcoin section, you can search and find some of them.

Btw, I'm good enough in Researching of Airdrops and Testnet that has potention for rewarding people, and I can give info about the Partnerships and Backers of the Project (airdrop/testnet), but the most important thing is I can lead people to the right way, because so many project that Imitating or scam newbie, Hope I can give my best For This.
it's not surprising that you're good at rating categorically, every airdrop and testnets to know which would potentially produce at the end... But that's not even the problem here  Smiley I'd like to ask; Are you tryna promote yourself by saying all this things or what?...

Secondly, I've observed that you're trying too hard to convince people with the last statement you made - how's that supposed not to look suspicious already? We've known airdrops and faucets to be unprofitable timewasters , why should anyone even wanna trust whatever project that is?

Admin/Mod of this Forum. I would suggest you to make a sub forum that Can create topic titled " AIRDROP & TESTNET ".

What you say is necessary, but you won't get the thread here because Alt is not discussed so much.  I think there is no need for this forum. A lot of scamming is going on when the alt bounty is run and it's airdrop, there's no guarantee, so I'd say there's no need to create an extra thread about it.

We cant be the ones talking about how risky altcoins could be and yet create a platform different from this for them to be able to have full ground for their exploitations, the boards assigned for them here i think are enough as most have suggested, there is not need for another creation of forum, if OP is the kind that is even used to the altcoins section, he would have discovered a lot about them over there and how the bitcoin section is far more better than them.

Do you really think that such boards is actually needed? Airdrops? C'mon, it's Bitcoin forum, stuff about altcoins isn't high priority here. And considering all scams, I doubt that theymos even would consider adding such board.
Testnet, it's not such kind of subject which get discussed a lot that separate board would be needed.

This is how misconception begins because you will have to first considers the essence for the creation of this forum which is on bitcoin discussion, while also there have been made provisions for altcoins discussions with their boards differently, so what else are you suggesting on the moderators concerning this, for bitcointalk to create its own version of altcoins discussion forum? this is something you would have kept to yourself honestly than saying it out.

Admin/Mod of this Forum. I would suggest you to make a sub forum that Can create topic titled " AIRDROP & TESTNET ".

We know that many peoples need Tutorial about Testnet and Airdrops. There are so many Airdrops especially that I want to share to peoples, and I will help them to support the way to do the tasks of the Airdrop. So we need a Special sub-forum that can create topic about Airdrop and Testnet, so People can share at each other too for any specific project(airdrop/testnet). Thanks Admin/Mod.
I think airdrops aren't as big as they are these days, and the only reason why you would warrant for a particular board to be made for it is if people are actively looking for this in the forum, and so far I haven't seen people beg theymos to really do it lol.

Also saw this feature being added in the Altcoinstalk forum, since it's pretty much a sister-website of this very same forum, why not just go there and check it yourself? Pretty sure whatever content they are going to put in there's probably going to be the same shit that would be in here if bitcointalk had its own airdrop section. Adding something that you could just check out on a different site, especially something similar to this forum foremost is just a waste of effort in my opinion, especially now that there are a good amount of peeps from bitcointalk posting their shit in Altcoinstalk ever since the ban on mixers within this forum.

So yeah, sometimes your answers are just a few clicks away, honestly could be a good thing if airdrops are still selling like hotcakes, but as it stands today, it's just going to be a waste of effort for the main blokes.

Forum is against Altcoin airdrops, you must know about it.

Giveaway threads are not allowed

The rule you are referring to isn't about airdrops, please read what theymos has written about it:

Most giveaway threads are no longer allowed in the Alternate cryptocurrencies sections. From now on, posting or replying to such threads could result in being banned. Existing threads will be locked.

Specifically, you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads. You can't offer to pay people who post their addresses, usernames, etc. You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

The rule is about on-forum giveaways or providing incentives to users making posts in your threads or asking them to post certain stuff to get a reward from you, and it specifically says that you can do giveaways off-site and provide a link to the giveaway page in your thread.

So, since airdrops are almost always off-site and no one is paid to do tasks within the forum, I don't think the forum is against them. However, I still don't find any reason for theymos to create a separate sub-board for such things.

While some things might not fit specifically in some places, they do fit when you look at it in a broader sense. The forum wouldn’t need an addition to every development that occurs in the industry, that would create a different twist to it which could turn to vulnerability in time.

Airdrops are one means of compromise. You might have the best intention but, you wouldn’t be the only respondent and neither is yours even trusted. When your not on the team, you can be down played even when your being very smart with your observations. It’s always a test and trier with these things and as it’s always been, not all the projects out there attain success so, having to promise it for your guidance doesn’t mean nothing.

There is no need for such a subforum because it will turn into a spamfest very quickly. Maybe your intentions are honest, but as you say yourself, there are too many scams and the place you propose would be ideal if they were promoted even better.

I suggest that you start your thread or more where you will deal with the airdrop topic, and possibly give some guidelines on how to recognize risky ones. Over time, if your thread proves to provide relevant and useful information, it will definitely be noticed by other members who are interested in this segment.

I don't think that theymos will create a sub-forum for that purpose which is airdrops or testnet which we already know that most of the projects are scams and you can hardly find any legit projects in the sea of scam tokens. Also, airdrops are no longer a trend unlike before uut as of now, airdrops aren't worth that much. I am joining airdrops before but most of it didn't even let me earn $5 and I only wasted my time just to find airdrops to join or participate.

You could actually be correct, but the way you stated it so emphatically could arise some questions. Forum is not against airdrops but maybe they restricted it from that particular board. If OP can find a way to share his knowledge and the airdrop link without going against any forum law. This could be fine.
Secondly, airdrops were popular in the early days of cryptocurrency. I don't know people are still seriously into it.

Op, sorry. Theymos is not gonna create any sub board where people will spam with airdrop links and tasks that will definitely lead to scam.

hd49728 - Maybe You don't understand what I mean. I Think Airdrop is different from giveaway cmmiw. It's just a research brot. and We can avoid any scam project by my guide, and also we don't need any capital to do the testnet/airdrop, it's totally free. Because it is too risky if the airdrop/testnet need a capital(money).

He is pertaining to an airdrop here in the forum which is a literal giveaway of tokens to forum members that is completely different to what you are describing. Probably, he is not aware on the current airdrop trend which happening on different blockchains.

The risk involved on this kind airdrop is there’s a chance that user might download apps with malware or be a victim of phishing scam since some user use their own wallet when participating on airdrop.

I disagree, how can the administrator trust a new created account that promise to not scam? you proved nothing.

You can just post it in Altcoin discussion, no need to have a new sub section. Actually you need to be grateful if the administrator not remove Altcoins board because this forum is mainly to discuss about Bitcoin.

Before you, many users had asked to add NFT section, until now there's nothing happen.

The airdrop that @OP talking about is different with the "old" airdrop because you don't have to reply after you joined.
I'm not newbie Brot, and what do you mean of scam ? I'm just a researcher that can give people information about the backers/partners of the airdrop project.

Thanks For All that suggested me to use the Altcoin Discussion to make a post regarding that.
