Legally and morally, gambling isn't a bad engagement if you ask me especially when a gambler is gambling responsibly but because of the fact that majority of modern day gamblers usually end up as gambling addicts, the general society now sees gambling as a bad vice and that's why many people who still engages in gambling does it in the secret so they'll not be harshly judged by people who doesn't value gamblers.
Despite the condemnation of gambling by many people, there are gamblers who still gamble in public without minding how people will judge them. But if we believe that our parents will accept it as long as we tell them honestly, I think it is no problem to tell our parents. I even don't recommend to tell the gambling habit with friends.
