Never give up
We all started from the scratch and we're all here to learn, but their are some people that sees newbies as a disturbance to forum. I started like a newbie infact we all started like a newbie and gradually we all grow to the rank we're now. So I'll advise to those people seeing the newbies as if they're here to harm others please we're here to learn more about cryptocurrency, we all have a target on here.
Well, I don't have much to say but I believe with this information provided, you can be able to know the total numbers of users on Bitcointalk and you should know that in an open community were anyone can come in freely without paying any fees, there are people who can't do things the same way you do. And you should know that freedom of speech is not prohibited here, so as a newbie that you are, and you are also ready to lean from others, I think it would be wise enough for you take some meaningful things in every speech a user say because some people are also picking some informations from your posts as well. Not all words are harmful, you might think that some Bitcoiners here always attack others (mostly newbies) but look at the other hand, they are saying something that you and anyone who's reading them finds something important in it. If you think you are always attacked in every comments you make, then you should try and change your pattern of post. Thank

This is like the umpteenth time I have seen newbies complaining about  attacks from senior members.  This was not so when I first joined the forum, I think this era newbies are very soft. They do not want to be corrected by others. There is a saying criticism is like medicine, it tastes bitter going down but it makes you better in the long run.

If the BTT forum and the fully grown members make things simple for us newbies, then what's the beauty in it?
How’s the forum and forum members making things difficult for newbies? The merit system? Newbies get merits for posts that wouldn’t be considered merit worthy if they were written by an older member, this is just to encourage newbies. Little wonder why when these accounts get to a higher rank, they find it difficult to rank up.

What's with all these topics latelly about newbies being attacked here?

@OP The only ones who gets attacked are fake newbies that come here in search for quick merit via bullshit advice threads and luckily community became really good at spotting those and calling them out.

That's the internet for you buddy. There definitely have been cases where older members were overly critical and dismissive of low ranking members, and there are also cases where newbies assume every form of correction to be a criticism, expecting others to communicate with them they exact way they will like.

This is the internet, and it's unhinged. You have to build the ability to filter the messages you read and take in only that which is useful to you, discarding the rest. Rank does not factor into conversations here, I'll rather discuss with a newbie that's knowledgeable on that topic than a legendary member who is, in due time they won't be newbies any longer.

Being a newbie, what directs your minds towards the mentality of newbies being attacked by other experienced members, this forum is not a cult but instead, a discussion platform where everyone is free to talk his own from bitcointalk, so incase you feel like you're being attacked, them watch on yourself and check if you're actually doing the right thing or not, we were all once a newbie to this forum and i don't think there is anything of such occurring to me except i made a wrong move and was being corrected then.

I haven't seen someone treated a newbie like that. In fact, the majority of us here are happy to help if there are newbies asking new things from them. Everyone here is eager to push everyone upwards than to pull down. Maybe the tone of their words didn't just suit you and you think that they're not welcoming to you guys?

It’s never right to criticize someone, been it a newbie or above, we are all here to learn, if you feel u know it all then I don’t think you should be on this forum. But also again you can’t really blame some high ranking members who attack or criticize some newbies. As a newbie in any forum you are suppose to read the forum rules and regulations first, observe the forum, read a lot before even engaging trying to engage in any post first, but most newbies actually make silly mistakes which can clearly state that such newbie didn’t even read the forum rules and regulations. This are one the most silly mistakes that actually annoys some high ranking members likewise me too. So newbies try to read the forum rules and regulations first before engaging in the forum activities.

As they say, the reactions of others towards you are a result of your actions. So it depends on newbies and what they do or say to deserve what they get from seniors. It might be true that some people have an aggressive way of responding to certain questions and queries, but that doesn't mean it is an attack it simply means that newbies before them have already asked the same things and they have been given the answers necessarily, so the newest newbies are supposed to be doing some research before they ask the same questions again.  Smiley

You won't believe that sometimes, newbies ask questions by creating threads that are already available on the same page they are surfing or creating their threads on. Now, in such an instance, it makes one have a bit of a harsh approach when correcting them because one shouldn't be this naive to not notice or even read what is written in front of them but instead go ahead and ask the same thing again.

I understand what you feel. Been there too but thats a reality newbies should accept that some users will really go on being harsh. Its not due to hating newbies that much but some seen newbies are just after the rewards of campaign and etc or just a dummy account for that sake. Im not also agree on being harsh but in an environment like forum which not prohibited some minor offense, newbies must also follow a strict rules.

What kind of  attack are you insinuating?
The forum is not like the social media platforms where people just come in to post whatever comes to head. At least, some of us should be grateful to be found in a community where others take it as a duty to correct us when we are doing below standard stead of concluding on it as an attack.

As a newbie if you view everything thrown at you in the forum as an attack you would never improve in your knowledge here. Perhaps, if you could try to see a positive side in every attack you receive it will be a stepping stone to you on your journey in acquiring cryptocurrency knowledge from the community.

Another snowflake who can't take criticism? OP, how can strangers on the Internet hurt you? It is you who react to them, but this does not mean that they want to offend you. On the contrary, I am surprised how some regular forum users with fairly long registration dates do not get tired of greeting newbies who ask the same questions every day. A little advice, OP: learn to take criticism as advice to correct mistakes. Believe me, no one wants to attack newcomers; we have all been like that, and there is no need to remind us every time. But if you want to achieve something, be stubborn and prove that you are unique.

Exactly, newbies are here to "learn more". I'm referring to crypto or Bitcoin newbies, not just forum newbies who are already knowledgeable about Bitcoin or crypto in general. So, they're here to learn and not lecture. They're here to listen and not advise. They're here to read mostly and not create tutorial topics and lists and compilations and whatnot. I guess, strictly speaking, to learn is not to share. At most, a newbie asks questions. Sharing will come at the right time, when enough knowledge and understanding are already acquired.

The impression that newbies are treated as "a disturbance" might be due to these newbie antics. Although there may also be arrogant members who prefer to insult rather than guide.

I won't claim that there aren't members who don't have a harsher attitude than some others, but maybe their attitude is just the result of watching beginners make the same mistakes for years, even though they could do a lot better if they just read the forum rules and some sticky topics in this board. Constructive criticism should be understood in this way, and not as any form of hostility towards any beginner.

If someone does something wrong, they will be criticized for it (or even punished in some way), but this should not be considered a sign to give up, but quite the opposite. We were all beginners and found ourselves in similar situations, but all older members will tell you that you simply have to develop a thicker skin on the forum and not take everything you read too seriously.

Sorry about this experience and that you feel this way. I felt the same way when I was a newbie on the forum..in fact when I go back to my post history and compare it with now, I see that it there has been a massive difference and improvement between them and now. I want to enjoin you to not take it personal . Grow a thick skin and see everything as part of the learning curve. You will be fine just as I was.

The biggest mistake people like you make is not accepting correction as correction, either fair enough or unfair correction it is still a correction, learn from it and don't hold unto the harsh part, you are simply neglecting the part where you are wrong and you will never solve the problem.

There are some corrections I didn't find funny as well on this forum when I was still a beginner but now they don't bother me anymore, having painful experiences is how we grow faster.

You can't run from disappointment, failures, mistakes, and people's opinions, it is only those who don't want to grow or even succeed that find this hard to believe.

I know people who have run away from masters because the masters are too harsh, but the masters have knowledge that they seek, instead of them to endure and gain the knowledge they ran, now they are in regrets.

Improving self won't come easy, you have to endure the pains and harshness that comes with it.

I don't know what you did and caused you feeling that you were attacked by members but I look at your topic history.

That topic Why do they see Nigeria as the most corrupt country ever?

is like a copy, paste, with a source link, low quality and it's not surprised if you get some complains. There is no reply to you on that thread but that thread makes me feel you don't have good posts too.

Though some replies may sound like indirect attacks, you have to understand that you are here for only one reason, and that's to learn. Nothing in life comes easy. If the BTT forum and the fully grown members make things simple for us newbies, then what's the beauty in it? I would advise that you take every reply (good or bad) as motivation to do more and work harder. Besides, I think we still have lots of members who don't make tough decisions and replies on us but rather guide us in a soft manner. But sometimes, just know that you, myself, and everyone have to learn things and grow the hard way.

You don't except everyone on the forum to respond same way to you. Most times, why old members replies that way is because some newbies drops out of nowhere and ask stupid questions that literally makes no sense. So if you are such kind of person, you shouldnt be expecting some standard reply from others but you will receive same stupid reply.

Old members some times tries to correct newbies but it now depends on how you as a newbie choose to see or view their reply. Holding grudges on a public form like this will do you no good. So it's either you learn from your mistakes and grow up in rank and knowledge or you keep grudges and never get to learn. Your choice.

Sorry buddy, Just avoid them avoid their word.
No one enters the forum with Hero or Legendary rank from the beginning, but some of us may forget it and therefore always criticize Newbies. I think it's not good to criticize unnecessarily, be it at Newbie Rank or above.
But I want also say that you have also set your mind like this you can accept the good criticism that will be better for you to avoid the mistakes. Best of wishes for yourfuture buddy.

What make you think that you are no more a newbie? This topic shows how newbie you are. If you grow to full or senior member, you will understand.

This is a forum, we learn from each other. Some newbies will come and make some wrong posts and they will be corrected. Accept correction. But newbies are more tackled than older members, just also accept that and grow.

If you want to get better replies, show some examples of what you are talking about. I mean a screen shot or quote or link of the posts that you are talking about.
