Sharing some recent thoughts; this price dip and dump of corn from grayscale makes it a perfect time to be solo mining. I think it's possible that global hashrate could drop a bit more with this price action/moderate downtrend. Mining rewards have plummeted. Fred Theil (CEO of Marathon) did an interesting interview recently, talked about margins for larger scale mining ops, and how this industry will have to evolve. Some of the big farms need bitcoin above 55k to be profitable. So they're ok now for the most part but I think it's definitely worth watching what happens with the difficulty.. currently have a small amount of hashrate dedicated to ckpool. But if it drops I will point a couple hundred th here. Final thought is that I think the price rip will happen at some point just not anytime in the next couple months if grayscale keeping offloading their dog of a product. Let's go out and hit a block

You're in the wrong place. This is the support thread for solo.ckpool.org ONLY.

it is a valid question. ckPool typically sends 20-00-00-00 as the block version and someone has mined a ckPool with a different block version (25-88-e0-00). Lots of people could be wasting time and hashrate if they are pointing to ckPool instance that is sending out unminable blocks.
ASIC boost version rolling and perfectly valid, otherwise it wouldn't have solved a block.

a follow up newbie question on this please. this means that the miner has enabled ASIC boost version rolling, comes up with an updated block version, and the miner is sends this version back with the mining.submit message? or the updated block version comes from the ckPool server?

Hello all,

let's go to the next group buy from Hashingpower.

As already requested by some forum users I put a new group buy for solo mining. Start at the earliest after the next diff reduction.

~10-20 users for each 0.005 BTC, 0.01 BTC or more BTC can participate (smaller amounts are also welcome). A higher number is not useful, otherwise a possible profit will be much too small.
If smaller amounts than the minimum amount are allowed in a single case, then the calculation of the rewards will be based on the amount of BTC deposited.
Hashingpower is rented on Nicehash and shot on the solo pool.
The status of the group run can be observed during the runtime via the Live View link.
Here you can see what our hashingpower is and what our highest share / bestshare is.

If a block is found, the reward will be paid out to the participants.




In the past we had found 10 blocks --> 193 BTC!

To make it a little easier in the new year, I've decided to do the reservations differently.
In the new year there are reservations possible for people who pay for 2, 5, 10, ... block party runs in front.
If the quota is exhausted, the place will be automatically free and someone else can use the place.

Specifically, we start with the Blockparty Run 2022-1 and if someone sends 20x 0.01 BTC at the first time, he is practically permanent until the Blockparty Run 20.
If someone joins the Blockparty Run 2022-7 and sends 10x 0.01 BTC, he will be a member until Blockparty Run 17.
This simplifies the organization and places are not permanently taken by the same people, unless someone sends 50x 0.01 BTC for the 50 planned Runs.

it is a valid question. ckPool typically sends 20-00-00-00 as the block version and someone has mined a ckPool with a different block version (25-88-e0-00). Lots of people could be wasting time and hashrate if they are pointing to ckPool instance that is sending out unminable blocks.
ASIC boost version rolling and perfectly valid, otherwise it wouldn't have solved a block.
