The ways of earning and living for young people have changed drastically since we moved from the agriculture(field) era to the technological( Internet money) era. Many young people are willing to sit at home waiting for a freelance job rather than going out to work for someone and getting paid little shillings. Research has proven that the rate at which people quit working in traditional industries has increased, perhaps they have found an online skill or a way to offer their services with high flexibility.

The concern is very alarming this is because if limited young ones are willing to work in these traditional structures (Oil, Agriculture, manufacturing, etc.) how will they grow? The Gen Z workers (that is people born between 1997 - 2012) were the first to prioritize flexibility, personal well-being, and as well as intelligent usage. Of course, the internet money is way higher than low-paying jobs in those sectors, they can either choose to start their own social media accounts that would endorse them or pursue freelance work rather than entering the traditional workforce.

So if there is a way to create balance and bring more young people to have interest in the traditional workforce what would you think of? I was thinking that increasing minimum wages and granting more benefits like health, rent to mention a few would help

I think only those people who don't have soft skills or the don't have the skill to take their own business to another level will choose these type of employments. There are only very less of a people who truly love their job and they do it with their heart.

Mostly people are doing it because they want money to run their house and to live a life where they can be good in their as well as others eyes. So I think it will not last long.

The Gen Z people would love to pick any job that pays decent but requires little to no job and this is due to the social media fame kids who make millions just for posting some crazy stuff or lip sync to audio, etc which isn't even a permanent thing and who knows when this will craze ends but these generation doesn't care about the longeivity. Anyway still unemployment is on the rise because less slots open while more qualified available to fill so one who are smart enough pick that while the remaining just get what's available or doesn't even get anything.

to be honest, the only reason why other people's expectations are rising when it comes to looking for a job is because of the misleading posts of others, usually they don't intend to make others jealous, they just give tips and motivations that can earn a large amount of money even though this kind of experience is all that is required, but let's remember that not everyone is given the opportunity to have such an opportunity, sometimes in the pursuit of a high salary we ignore the offers that come our way, because I still believe that more It's good that you went through all the processes or struggles before you get to the expected offer that will be given to you.

The new era of becoming rich is to teach others how to become rich and get paid for their courses so in the end who is at the top of the pyramid will be most successful and it is kind of similar to a pyramid scheme but in a different perspective. The influence of social media is very high in the young generation so the algorithm of these social media is to show fancy lifestyle of others which make everyone to believe that this is the normal lifestyle so we are being poor that reflects in their salary expectations too.

I work as a UI/UX designer in a very comfortable working environment where sometimes I can play ping-pong, PlayStation and have some fun while my salary remains significantly higher than those who do manual labour and very physically intensive jobs.
As the young generation grows, they see how some people do a little job and have lots of money while others work very very hard and barely have money for food. It's hard to motivate them to work in traditional industries, and their parents do everything to make that happen, to protect their kids from working in traditional industries.

GenZ isn't going to work in those industries and I think that if AI and robots develop soon enough before the elder generation (40+) retires, then we can be safe or those traditional industries will be forced to offer higher salaries, less physical work and better working conditions.

How to enter the traditional industry? In my opinion, the traditional industry rejects young people.

We can't really blame the young people for this because technology is to blame for its contribution of making some of these traditional jobs redundant as many companies cut running costs of a business, and if these jobs are there it means they being reserved for a select few that have extensive experience that will leave out millenials still searching for jobs that's to lack of experience in the job industry, and worse off the pandemic, the Russia Ukraine war, Pump prices going up etcetera have all contributed to most of these traditional jobs to be downsized as companies try to work with the little available resources available...

I also think young people have run the numbers and found other markets that can pay them way better than traditional jobs which has made a lot to flock in such markets such as influencer marketing, YouTubing, trading, Bitcoin mining etc and I think its time to embrace the change and see how far it takes us.
its overall tough situation, but the current unemployment overall is better than when we still around pandemic where it literally making people losing their job by massive amount as you can see from the statistic according to https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/unemployment-rate?tab=chart alone its obvious that within the span of 2019 - 2021 there are many people getting unemployed it nearing the rate at that time when there's global economic crisis.
overall I think as you said the fact that unemployment rate could also mean that the people with experiences are getting their job back with their extensive experience its easy to get a foot hold again after the massive lay offs meanwhile for the newer generation with no extensive experience are the one that probably as of now remains jobless.
the current job requirement is getting harder and harder to meet and the entry job level is getting scarce its actually scary to be just graduating out of unversity right now and seeking job only to find none and next year already having less value than the newer graduates.

I think as you said, venturing other creative sectors out there such as a non conventional jobs of 9-5 such as trading, investing and so on become a must these days.
its the only viable way of earning that side hustle income while also seeking for a job that brings financial stability.

I still remember how there was hiring spree back in the days of the pandemic in the sector of technology while other sector is having massive cut downs in operational of various companies that make many people unemployed but right now things got reseved, the technology related industry is laying off many people for the sake of cutting down operation meanwhile the other sector starting to add more workforce into their companies.
being flexible and highly adaptive is a must these days, otherwise we just gonna earn nothing.

Currently, in this era of fast-paced technology, the current golden generation wants to have money or a good income and they are not too interested in traditional jobs anymore because there the certainty of earning money is uncertain, that's why today's young generation is very rare They want to become farmers or fishermen because of the uncertainty of having a lot of money.
....

we cannot blame them because it is the government's fault for not providing proper welfare to farmers or fishermen, even though this work is very crucial for the daily needs of society, but the government tends to ignore this and leaves fishermen or farmers without adequate welfare. worthy. so it is very reasonable for the younger generation to look for more decent work in the city, which is lower risk, less tiring from having to sail, and other reasons.

Currently, most of the younger generation are very few who want to do traditional jobs, they prefer to follow current technological developments and prefer to be employees who have a fixed salary, indeed there are some who want to return to working in traditional jobs and they have been able to incorporate technology into the work they do to make it easier for them to complete their work.

In this era of technology and work is not difficult for them and the income they earn is extraordinary, that is why they do not want to enter the traditional world of work.
but I applaud young people who combine traditional work with modern technology, even though there are not many in number, in terms of income they can actually exceed that of office workers, and what's even more amazing is that they can employ and provide guidance to conventional farmers. one example is from agriculture, where young people equipped with knowledge develop modern farming methods, and not only that, with sophisticated technology they immediately market it online, so that farmers' income increases due to cutting out middlemen.

Yeah sad reality since based on my observation here in my place gen z are way more interested in information technology related jobs which involves internet money and stuff. Some also prefer working abroad for a much better salary rate. Though the increase of individuals getting a degree degree in agriculture sector is increasing as the the government issued free tuition fee for it but the draw back here is that graduates will find job that is not related to it just like call center or BPO in general.
Seems like the same problem everywhere even in my country people's job is irrelevant to their education and new generation are more focussed on internet money, freelancing and remote jobs but at the same time I do see those who are born in early 90s and late 80s who had a successful career are going back to the roots and leaving their well paid job for agriculture and I know few very good startups which was founded by IT employees after quitting their lucrative jobs.

Different eras require different approaches to life and work. There is a ridiculous rise in cost of living today when compared to 30 years ago.

One could survive on less pay cause they had less bills to pay, housing wasn't so expensive, inflation was not this high. Fast forward to today, more people are living from pay check to pay chek, and have to find side hustles to make up the income.
In the quest for this "hustles" people create opportunities in different fields which require less time and can be done remotely.

With the advancement in technology, more jobs will become automated to fill in the gaps.
With respect to time and technological advancements,presently,70% of gen Z will switch from their jobs for a better high tech,Gen Z are willing to use technology to make their lives easier and at the same time, they value digital communications over physical jobs  for a progressive inputs.
Gen Z are raised with the Internet and social media,in essences, the millennial generation ignored the digital benefits and revolution that it offered or has.And its not that the Gen Z discovered or understood the importance all along. All of the revolution, application, new technology became noticeable by the time of the Gen Z;Gen Z grew up on it(Internet).

Gen Z is the Internet and instead of trying to not get consumed by the pressures and threats that comes with traditional jobs offers,Gen Z eventually gets tech-savvy,security conscious, and safely ensures that thier online information doesn't get into wrong hands.

You're right here! I feel that if the government has more opportunities for the youthh in the tradition sector most persons would consider to work in that area. This problem started form when there will be thousands of graduate and these graduate have no work. So am not surprised that even at a teen we no longer keep our hope on the traditional sector anymore. Apart from the internet influencing our decision the government has failed for not fulfilling their sworn premises to provide job opportunities for the youth.

Everyone wants to be a part of the traditional sector but due to limited opportunities everyone cannot get a chance to earn from such a sector therefore they move towards the online sector where there are not limited seats available but everyone can participate and earn based on their skills.

There are a large number of Individuals who have obtained higher education but they are currently at their home without doing anything for their family and himself because he cannot find any job due to shortage of jobs.

If there were an abundance of job opportunities then no one will be jobless and people will be able to utilize their knowledge and degrees for the welfare of their country as well as work better for their own bright future.

Hey, with what the young generations of now have seen in this internet world and how they’re exposed to the money here, I don’t think the government minimum wage can convince them to go back to the traditional means of employment,
If there is any choice of employment without much difficulty, then why should people settle for a harder means of employment with lower fees. in this time where anything can be profitable using the internet it has become much easier to earn money.

Meanwhile traditional employment did not improve because the government does not focus on them. It should also keep up with how the times are changing.

The concern is very alarming this is because if limited young ones are willing to work in these traditional structures (Oil, Agriculture, manufacturing, etc.)

It is true that nowadays the younger generation tends to choose the job they want which is very promising and doesn't drain their energy rather than traditional work because nowadays the progress of the digital era demands that the younger generation learn a lot of new things, but there's nothing wrong with that. The question is, can we survive in this current era without anyone or few taking up the traditional work sector?
It's hard to say because the living system becomes unbalanced and creates difficulties the future.

But maybe this only applies to western countries, because in developing countries like mine there are still many young people who want to enter traditional industries such as oil and gas, agriculture, factories, etc., because compared to western countries, where there are many job opportunities in the technology and information sector, in developing countries job opportunities for this sector are still limited. And what's more, in my country the salaries of people in the oil and gas sector are very high, different from other sectors which on average are the same, so it is still a dream for young people.
But indeed I also see that today's young people who live in urban areas tend to be weaker against work pressure, where they prefer to work more flexibly and without being regulated, this may be a challenge for young people in the future to have a poor work ethic and difficult to control.
I actually look at the income earned or salary rather than the job because realistically everyone will look at the salary first before choosing a job.
And indeed in developed countries there are many jobs with high salaries so it is true as you say and this is inversely proportional to developing countries where people find it quite difficult to find work so they will do everything possible to continue their lives.
