WINNER : MITCHELL

1st character: last character in BLOCK 409880 = "f", so we will use BLOCK 409881 = "8" , since the entries only go up to "e"

Nobody has 'f' as their starting character. Cheesy Time to pick new blocks!

When will the results be out?  Grin

Very soon.
I realized, I did not have a "fair" way to pick a winner. I took a cue from OgNasty's auction.
There are only 16 characters available to select, so I made it 2 characters from separate blocks.

We will use the last characters from block 409880  for the 1st character and block 409885 for the second character.

I assigned everyone many combinations, so each ticket actually has 8 chances to win.
I left off the "f" series of numbers/letters at the end as I would not have come out even for all the entrants.

I will post here and in OP/2nd post.

Please let me know if this is ok!! Cheesy

Thanks

Recording the draw won't cut it though. It would have to be a livestream at least or some other form of drawing in a fair and provable matter. For example OgNasty's raffle picks a winner in a fair and provable way:

Whenever we get the last entrant, I will select a block # in the near future.  The final character in that block's hash will determine the winner.  If the block's hash ends in a letter, the following block will determine the winner.

So for now, We will pick the winner using the blockchain.

Since there are more then 10 numbers, and could only use 0 to 9 for single number entries, we will figure a way to expand this.

thanks

Whoohoooooo! After losing OgNasty's raffle, I'm happy that I won this one. I didn't even need to buy all those extra tickets, but oh well.

Congratulations, man.  Grin

Should not be a problem. Just use the last two numbers of the block hash. It might be worth 'pre-picking' a few blocks since it might completely miss the numbers in the raffle.

Thanks for the entries.

You will be added shortly.

Any recommendations for picking a number/winner??  Pick them out of a hat? Cheesy

Sure, why not? I'd probably videotape it and then post that so everyone can see exactly who won, that would be cool.  Cool

Or, maybe like mark a bunch of pennies with the ticket numbers using like a Sharpie (not condoning defacing us currency mind you), then pick one from a bag? That would be pretty cool too!  Grin
