As i know and own some , there are two 2013 0.01 btc zombie error coins
one is funded and one is unfunded(it had wrong privkeys) and there are only 10 of unfunded ones , no idea on quantity of funded

GOod luck Cheesy

There are no funded zombies, they are zombies as they are unfunded. They look the same as series 1 0.01 2013 coins, as they were intended to be those coins, but are different

As above, funding for the zombie coins was sent to a different incorrect address (and lost). The key under the hologram corresponded to a different (unknown) address, and as such the coins couldnt be funded

If Miffman only kept 3, I kept 5 ish, Viz had 12. Thats 20. I know Grav kept at least a couple. Not sure of the source of MJ's. There are also the 30 or so coins that may or may not have been returned (approx 1/3 of the rest of them had been kept, so perhaps 10 of these survived ... ?). Best guess is 30 - 33 of them remained as zombies, rather than getting returned and rekeyed / holod

Funded coins, there were many. 100's rather than 10's.

Gravitate sold me 2 zombie coins a while ago. 1 funded and 1 unfunded. I know the private keys don't match but technically the coin got funded (it just can't be redeemed Grin).

I had 12 and destroyed 9 of them I think. Can't fully remember, but I know I had 3 or less. I still have some the blanks which I give away now and then.

Edit, I actually can't remember how many coins I had before I destroyed some. I'll look through the old messages tonight and find out. I definitely only had 3 or less zombie coins though.

For additional clarity. The above is a mixture of sources.

The quote from me above was in respect of some coins that I had bought from Matthew and was subsequently requested to return.

the rest of the information is taken from Elias's Encyclopedia of Bitcoin.

I still have the original email requesting the return of the coins. Mail dated  03/06/14

".... and I will replace all affected coins free of charge obviously. However all 12 of the ones I sold to you are affected. Do you have any of them left?
Regards,
Matthew"

As items go these coins are, I believe, quite rare as most customers returned their faulty coins. I was unable to at the time and them forgot as life got in the way. A shame on one level as I missed out on my BTC but history seems to be repaying me Tongue

Of the 12 I had, I know of only 2 of them (that I gave away to friends and family) that are in "safe" hands, I have 3 left and have sold 1.
So, that's 6 of the 12 with definite provenance and still in "circulation"

There used to be a list of the zombies, when Gravs site was up. Not sure if that was for all Zombies made, or all zombies left following partial returns.

I kept a few of these zombies back (but not as many as your 12, maybe 5), and I know one other user (Miffman) who kept some also (who had bought in bulk from me, before the zombie error had been realised).... unsure how many they kept and how many they returned as they dealt with Grav direct for the returns / swaps

I seem to recall 90ish zombies were made in total (From memory I had 50 of them before selling 20 - 30 in bulk to Miffman and  returning 15 - 25 back to Grav myself). Dont know how many were returned by Miffman, and how many were left with him.

There must have been 30 ish sold to other users, that also may or may not have been returned in full

Grav would need to give definitive numbers, if they are available. It sounds like minimum of 20, maximum of 75. If my ballpark reckoning is somewhere near. Miffman may be able to narrow that band down a bit, if Grav cant.

Funded?

Zombie coins are unfunded by definition Smiley

I couldn't find the thread, but here is a quote from vizique's website: (http://physicalbitcoins.co.uk/?product=microsoul-0-01btc-brass-error-coin)

"Product Description
Microsoul 2014 0.01BTC Brass bitcoin

One of the rarer microsoul coins in existence because of an error discovered by Matthew early on in the minting process. The QR codes used for the private keys were not printing correctly due to an incorrect font. As soon as the issue was realised a recall was issued.

This is one of 12 that had been ordered, delivered and not returned.

It also contains the error on the (series 1) hologram with the spelling of microsoul reading “micrasoul”

The more you learn, interesting anecdote, cheers!

I'll bid 0.09
