With OPEN, security vulnerabilities are orders of magnitude lower than alternative architectures and can easily be mitigated. As mentioned in our whitepaper, synchronizing on-chain data with off-chain databases is a notoriously difficult job, and too many ICOs take an approach that is either incredibly insecure, or forces the off-chain application to totally replace their existing database structure. Both of which provide a massive barrier to adoption.

OPEN’s architecture does not necessitate an entire backend overhaul and is largely independent of the data management system an application chooses to use as it doesn’t push on-chain data off-chain, rather relies on off-chain databases pulling on-chain information. This implementation is much more secure as it ultimately puts control in the hands of the application owner.

Recently i read an article about application network, while browsing after reading that, I saw the article about OPEN MONEY.
I am truly impressed with your approach.
I'll search more about the project, maybe search the team from linkedin and read the whitepaper word by word:)
Good luck.
btw. I'll join your telegram to keep updated.
thanks.

A lot of people have asked how OPEN plans to scale our service. You see, we believe not everything needs to be decentralized as there are still advantages to centralized systems. There are clear benefits when applied correctly to solve a problem and not all situations call for a blockchain solution.

In OPEN Platform’s case, the problem we address is the in-app purchasing system: how payments are received and ultimately affect an application’s centralized platform. The application database is complex and protected and lies squarely in the developer's domain. Attempting to apply a blockchain for the database would not be practical; it would just mean a loss of efficiency and loads of re-work by the developer.

The centralized systems that are replaced by our blockchain solution are all the payment channels needed today: user’s bank, merchant bank, payment provider, etc. Our Scaffold smart contracts allow payment to be direct between User and Developer. The Scaffold also acts as a link between the User and the Application Database. Payment for the specific purchase can be confirmed and affect the Database, completing the transaction. The advantage for this solution is clear, avoiding the fees imposed by those centralized payment entities, accepting cryptocurrency, and instant access to the transaction funds.

Selectively applying blockchain technology can provide great benefits for a system, leaving the centralized and decentralized portions to do what they do best. It also makes scaling apps a whole lot easier. For a more comprehensive description of the OPEN Platform solution, please have a look at our whitepaper!

Thank you for the explanation! It is true that not everything needs to be decentralized. Selectively applying blockchain tech is definitely the way to go.

I totally agree with you guys. It only makes sense that OPEN is used as a payment system for in-app purchases rather than taking over the whole application. OPEN will keep doing what it's best at and applications will keep doing what they're best at!

At OPEN we believe there are 3 things holding back the blockchain community: Users, Uses and Usability.

Users: Crypto needs to open the doors millions of new users and by empowering mainstream software apps, we know this can happen.

Uses: It's time for it to become EASY to spend crypto, and in-app purchases are a great way for this to come true.

Usability: Bridging the gap between the current community and the wide open market can't depend on starting everything from zero. By allowing developers to incorporate the blockchain into their apps with FAMILIAR tools, we're eliminating a steep learning curve and an important barrier.

What do you think? Ready for a blockchain revolution?

Couldn't agree more dev! Lowering the barrier to adoption is key.

Good morning folks! Here's a quick comment that you can reflect on!

The OPEN State is a new type of token interface that serves as a proof-of-ownership. It can be made uniquely tied to an individual to save a state granted by a central entity. Essentially, it can be said to act as a decentralized receipt.

The OPEN State is created in the Scaffold. Since each Scaffold can have a unique implementation of the OPEN State, it makes sense for OPEN States to have different attributes and functionalities. This gives a larger amount of flexibility in terms of what the OPEN State can do and represent.

I was reading the interesting article published today at Medium about the work OPEN MONEY is doing to facilitate developers to have access to this interesting technology and all the resources a blockchain developer would like to have handy without running its own nodes, this is a big step in the blockchain ecosystem, this will speed the whole blockchain progress. Great!

Did you know that OPEN provides a full node service that developers can interact with in order to get reliable on-chain information? This makes it easier, more reliable, and more secure than running your own node or making 3rd party API Calls.
In order to dial into the blockchain, you either need to run your own full node, make API calls to existing (3rd party) full nodes, or both. API calls to 3rd party nodes are typically unreliable as they often accidentally provide false information, mostly because a lack of real incentive to be rigorous in their messages. In order to combat this, OPEN provides a full node service, dubbed the OPEN Node, that developers can interact with in order to get reliable on-chain information without the need to run your own node!

This is awesome Smiley OPEN Platform is truly a turnkey solution for bridging blockchain technology with mainstream apps.

Today we'd like to Introduce the OPEN Node, a powerful solution for making the blockchain easily accessible for traditional app developers. Check it out! https://medium.com/@theOPENPlatform/open-node-a-high-level-overview-1ed25c7912d8

It's a great article.

Quote
The OPEN Node is the first and most obvious step in securely bridging on-chain and off-chain data, but is only the beginning. As more people begin utilizing the OPEN platform, we aim to build an even more comprehensive toolbox of solutions that developers can use in adapting their products to the
decentralized world of the future.

Can't wait for it!
