How much time did it take?

Since this was the first experience, I spent a lot of time reworking some parts of the encyclopedia. The next sections, I think, I will do much faster, since some processes will already be automated, for example, creating tables and adding bb codes, since there are templates.

I started on September 2nd. I spent no more than 1 hour every day. I researched 270 pages of the Beginners & Help section, ~15 pages per day, it took about 2 weeks. Then I sorted all the selected topics by date. It took a little over 2 weeks. On October 7, the primary version of the encyclopedia was presented sorted by dates only.

Next, it was necessary to weed out any duplicate of topics, irrelevant or deleted information and sort all the topics by theme. It took a month. And then 10 days were spent on layout. I did this every day for about 1 hour. And today, after 2.5 months of work, this encyclopedia is completely ready.

This is the biggest theme I've ever done.

I was pleasantly surprised today that even theymos highly appreciated this encyclopedia.
Without a doubt I can verify that your topic Beginners & Help Encyclopedia is excellent and useful to everyone who visit the beginners & help section in particular. It's like a table of content for a book that will make it easier for everyone to choose a topic with what category they need, great concept. The 50 merit of theymos for these thread are a form of support that you can actually use as an excuse to keep the thread and keep updating your thread regularly with useful topic.

I don't think we should demand that you manage that thread with a bunch of other suggestion even if you state that it's required for development. Thread and thread order by date and theme are easy enough for anyone to choose. This seem good enough for me.

IIRC, theymos was looking for recommendations for a welcome message to the newbie. I guess your encyclopedia would be the best to link up to them as this seems very much informative, organized perfectly. As you said, theymos appreciated the thread, I guess he will link up the thread for newcomers.

What is this discussion topic for? I would like to know the opinion of the community on this idea and its initial implementation. Maybe someone will suggest some interesting improvements or point out the shortcomings.
A very helpful thread to the newbies and it deserves to belong in the sticky threads on the Beginners & Help section, IMO.

I usually do answer newbie's posts asking how Bitcoin work, what rules in the forum, how to rank or how do I earn merit, how to earn Bitcoin, and blah, blah blah, it seems they have the same questions almost every day by different users.  But if this will belong to the sticky threads, everything information they need was on that thread and I think it's their laziness if they don't learn it seems like spoon-feeding to them.  All they have to do is spend time to read and easy to find helpful topics/threads to the help of this thread of yours.

I hope you are able to update this thread regularly.

Its really a great idea to pin such threads which includes lot of guides and technical information about cryptocurrency which is what most newbies are looking for or they will gain more knowledge by going through all those threads. I don't know how or what are the criteria to pin a topic but in general it should be most useful and relevant to that section so it really depends on the admin if I am not wrong who acknowledges the thread and pin it for better exposure.

I hope we will see opinions from other members as well about this idea.
