Hello all,
I have found installation file of the SDK Stream which contains openCL. At this moment I dont know how to use it yet, but I hope I will learn. "trusted Download" green button on left:
http://ati-stream-sdk-developer.software.informer.com/2.3/
this is Windows XP 32-bit version.

I also look for Windows XP 64-but version. Can anybody upload? I would like to learn to develop on both systems.

The OpenCL is installed in the path:
C:\Program Files\AMD APP\lib\x86

and headers are here
C:\Program Files\AMD APP\include\CL

Suggest upgrading to window 7, all latest driver does not support window xp..

I don't like that system! In fact I bought Windows 7 but I decided to sell it and go back to Windows XP! They changed everything and complicated everything in my life. Life is so much simpler when I use XP instead of Windows 7.

So anybody who can find older SDK Stream and upload? I want to learn some tutorial which uses OpenCL so I need it.

You mean the latest AMD APP SDK's don't support XP, because NVIDIA's CUDA SDK's do. It's just too bad that we need to use shitty AMD graphics cards instead of NVIDIA cards for mining. ATI's driver support has always SUCKED - I almost cried when AMD bought that wretched company. The fact that fucking Microsoft stopped releasing their mostly useless security updates for XP doesn't mean anything. Anyways, no one here is asking for suggestions of operating systems to switch to, so either help finding the SDK's the posters are needing or shut the fuck up.

Spent hours searching for version 2.3 of the ATI Stream SDK for Windows XP as mentioned in the following link:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/amd-direct-links-ati-stream-sdk-older-downloads-archive-10033

Specifically, I am looking for :
http[Suspicious link removed]
This link is now broken. ATI has removed all Stream SDK downloads for Windows XP

Yet I am sure someone out there must have it. Will pay 0.02 BTC to anyone who can email it to me.
The filename is ati-stream-sdk-v2.3-xp32.exe

Hello,
thanks so much. I am using both versions of XP, 32 and 64 bit. Actually I am running XP 32 bit, where I wanted to start to learn using OpenCL. I would like to have both XP 64 versions and 32 because I would do tests on 64 bit system too. Actually I have no idea which version will work or not, but I will be grateful for any one.

Hi there,
I have same problem. I have Windows XP and need to install OpenCL, I try to find the SDK Stream for XP but no success. The link above don't work. Can you help please and upload the install? My card is HD 4800. This is urgent because I cannot find it anywhere, you are my last change.

I have all SDK's from version 2.4 on but only for 64-bit Windows, so if you're using XP 64 just let me know which version you want and I'll upload it for you.

a quick search turned this

Oh WOW Thanks for taking the time to search. Looks like the right card and it is listed on the LTC hardware comparison Wiki and hashes at 21 KH/s (kinda slow, but better than nothing on an old XP PC).
I need to re-hone my skills google searching! Wink

I used 2.6 catalyst on windows xp. It worked fine for litecoining and bitcoining.
What radeon card are you using, OP?

I have a Sapphire Radeon 9200SE, which I was told does not support OpenCL (too old). It is not even listed on the Litecoin Hardware Comparison Wiki. I have pretty much given up on it.
Problem is that XP system I have has only PCI (NOT PCI-e) slots, are there any GPU's that will fit a PCI slot that support OpenCL for mining LTC?

XPM is still viable for CPU mining even though GPUs have jumped onto it.

If you're going to CPU mine, DO NOT mine scrypt (kinda pointless now).  Mine a CPU restricted coin otherwise you're pretty much just spinning your wheels.

Most cpu coins can be mined with gpu's now.  unless there is something new I'm not aware of.

Coins that are intended to be mined on CPUs only (but in practice can be GPU mined now) are based on a technology called Scrypt-Jane which was intended to make the coins more ASIC/GPU resistant than Scrypt coins (due to ASICS for them being in circulation now).

I advise you google those types of coins as they'll be the only kind which are 'just about' worth mining.Smiley

Yes but not efficiency enough, still better to mine with CPU then GPU...
