Personally, I think it's not too important, just the game is still not ready for the masses and not everyone will accept such fees for their transactions. You can just wait until the gas is low or you will have to accept metrics for your transactions.

I am afraid you would say that. My only thought really is for him to think of other Ethereum like coins and maybe find the ones with very little fees. He really wants to find some cheap coins or tokens that he can invest in. Much the same as with Penny stocks, like spend 100 dollars worth and watch it magically grow to 1000 dollars in a few months. I told he needs to be patient with crypto and he says he is patient but I think ETH is off limits for the meantime unless he can find ways to buy ETH and directly transfer to the metamask account with small fees, but that is unlikely. Anyway, I think the only choice right now is find a different coin to invest with right now.

I am opening this because I think this is still relevant today. I want to share to your my colleagues experience with his ether. He saw a coin that he wants to invest with and he has at least 50 dollars worth of ETH lying on his old HitBTC account. He did some research and saw that the coin he wants to invest in can only accept Metamask ETH addresses so that he can buy the said token. Unfortunately I cannot sell him ETH because of the fees. I told him to try and see if he can release the ETH from his HitBTC account. But he says he cannot do that as the fee is 0.0115 ETH and he only has slightly above that amount. Even Binance has 27 dollars worth of fees to withdraw ETH. That greatly discourages him from doing crypto but I told him there is nothing we can do at this point.

Do you have any pointers as to how he can at least buy cheap ETH and transfer it to his Metamask account?

It depend on the amount of ethereum you want to send and you didn't not tell us the value of ethereum in case you are sending a large amount of eth it is possible to have such huge transaction fee.

Why is too high? Is that fee from exchange or etehrium network??
Because as i know i get charge 0.001 or 0.002 for sending etherium in myetherwallet. No more fee need to pay the gas.

The charge if $0.05 on $37 is nothing. You are been charge just a little bit over 1% of the amount you are sending. Ethereum tx charges us still incredibly cheaper compare to bitcoin. So you should calm down and pay your fee.

you need to read more carefully before you start posting random answers!

the OP is clearly saying he is charged 0.05 ETH and even in the picture it is crystal clear that the wallet is suggesting him 0.05 ETH as fee which is $37-$38 for transferring a 0.1571 ETH!

Why is that so? I do not mind my transaction fee is only about 1-2 $. Relative to 0.002 ETH. ETH gas is very cheap. It's not as expensive as Bitcoin

Useful website to check how much gas you should set for an ETH transaction:

https://ethgasstation.info/

Currently you can send a fast transaction with 4 gwei (0.059 $)

ethereum wants to charge me 0.05 Ethere tx fee for a transaction and this is the cheapest possible option

what the hell is going on? this is 37.5 USD

sorry that there is no translation

Günstiger is german it means cheaper,

Schneller means Faster

I love for ETH's price to increase but this also hurt ETH as the fee or fuel become too expensive.

Asking for high transaction fees is not good for business. People are using crypto currencies because of its low transaction fees this will make people to move to alternative cyprto currencies that will have low transaction fees.

Whether you set up too expensive service fee, such poundage is obviously too expensive. Is the gas value unreasonable? Huh

it is,

what i am supposed to do with such a high fee and interexchange transfers are even cheaper something i am doing wrong

maybe its because i still didnt updated this wallet

regards
that is crazily high, but I still did a transfer from MEW wallet yesterday and I was not charged up to that. In fact I was charged around 0.002ETH instead and my transaction did not take that long to get confirmed. 0.05ETH ? That is a whole lot. If you have your private keys, why not try making use of MEW instead as that at least should be able to solve your problem. The network should not be that congested to take such a huge one.

Always check https://ethgasstation.info/ for the appropriate gwei to use.
Even from here, https://ethgasstation.info, the gas price that you are supposed to pay is not as much as that and it does not even show much congestion in the network. Probably, there is something about the wallet that is wrong and you may need to use another one. I can imagine cheaper showing 0.05ETH, I then wonder what faster is going to be showing.

Gwei is the determinant for the price of transaction.
You can set gas to 200,000 if it's a smart contract/token, unused gas gets returned anyway.

I've seen tx that use as little as $0.001 usd and as high as $70,000 for 1 transaction.

I haven't yet made any transactions through Ethereum so I think it depends on the amount you're about to send? I was planning to send some coins into Etherdelta but it says it will require only 0.002 for gas. Did I miss something else?

i have no idea what i am doing wrong

i want to get rid of this ethereum kryptokittis, and other hackers are breaking this network,

waves is always 0.001 and always fast also between exchanges, much better than this garbage
Waves have always been cheap but we cannot really compare for now since it is still on a low scale usage and Ethereum problem started since the introduction of the cryptokittens on the Ethereum blockchain and I wonder if the devs are really trying to find something to do to scale up.

Nevertheless, that is pretty huge and no matter what, 0.05ETH for a transaction fee, your wallet may be the one to be questioned in this case.

but what i am supposed to do i didnt made this wallet myself i download it on www.ethereum.org

On the one hand, you can set the gas and gas limit before your transfer, on the other hand, you should avoid to transfer when the Ethernet is very crowded. I have also spent a lot of transfer fees, so I went to find some articles to learn, so you can. In general, the tx fee of Eth is stil cheaper than Bitcoin

jes its cheaper than bitcoin, but the system should be easy to use, or consumers and workers will dush bin/trash it.

others dont have time to be computer hacker freaks like buterin

I do think it is due to the wallet you are using. Many wallets are already taking high transaction fees because they know how in demand trading is right now. It is very unreasonable for you to pay about 38$ for a transaction. Most transaction fees only values not higher than 10$
