They will be used for various things, not all decided yet, but with one aim : reward people invested in this project.
http://register.dot-bit.org is my own website, which provide additional services : no need to exchange NMC/BTC, no configuration and even no namecoind needed, which requires some of my time :p. So, the payments are for me. 10BTC for now, with 5 today !

Fixed a upper/lower case bug : names are converted to IDNA and then lowercase (thanks gsan for the bug report :p).

Now, simple question: how can people possibly visit a .bit website?
Easy for you, just use one of the DNS servers that support it.
The problem is getting other people to use them.
- use an existing DNS server that support .bit (or create your own, scripts will be available in some weeks)
- use a proxy (a local one is better, of course) (not enough documented yet)
