I am a student of programming and design.
I would put the full amount into my site getfreebitcoin.com for my TwitterGames and newbie raffles. The whole point of the site is to help spread the enjoyment of bitcoin to those who can't buy any/don't know much about bitcoin in general. I usually hold a Tgame or raffle everyday with a 0.01BTC prize, sometimes twice a day. As you can imagine that gets pretty expensive. So far I have been able to pay about 50/50, that is 50% out of pocket, and 50% on the btc generated from newbies clicking the links on my site (which lead to more free giveaways). I hope one day to make it so that the site is self sufficient, and can generate its own prize money. For now I am content with the occasional donation by fellow advocates of spreading the word of BTC, and my own coinage, but a 1BTC donation to the sites newbie giveaway will surely allow me to up the prize money/get rid of some of the coinurl links (hate those things).

Well that is what I would do with it, if anyone wants to donate to the site, or you decide that the idea is worth while, the newbie raffle/giveaway fund address is in my signiture!

Thanks for holding something like this!

Trying to find my way.
I'd make myself a Printcoin bill and fund it with that 1 BTC. With that I'd bring it to my favorite little organics shop near my school and show it to them, and use the paper bill to get them to better understand bitcoin as a currency. Hopefully they'd then consider accepting bitcoin as payment, especially considering they aren't doing so well. Maybe then the use of bitcoin would spread throughout my community ever so slowly. It'd be worth a shot Tongue

I would do a send-many of 0.00000001 BTC to every Bitcoin address ever used, in an attempt to de-anonymize Bitcoin addresses by grouping them all together with default client behavior of including transactions from different addresses together.

Bitcoin is physical
I see smarter ideas already.

Just keep trying even better - think of blockchain, analysis, divisibility, spreading. Anything hacky-technical you can think of. Or just something simple elegant and altruistic. Surprise me!

Are you the one who just sent me BTC1? Because if so thank you very much! I was about to not be able to do many more TwitterGames because I was low on funding.

I will start a thread on the tenth biggest forum on the internet where I have thousands of posts saying "giving away 1 free bitcoin to a random poster in this thread"

They usually get hundreds and hundreds of replies for free items worth far less than even the bitcoin's current worth.

Will deliver too. Primarily, though, it will expose bitcoin to a lot of new people, and if some adopt it, they will spread it, etc etc

Time is on our side, yes it is!
I would hold the bitcoin to see it raise in a bit and use the funds to start my own T-shirt business.  It's would be a Bitcoin clothing store.  That would be used to advertise Bitcions all over the world and I'd have contests and giveaways for newbies and valuable members here frequently.  It's a win win and free advertising and I'd pay tribute to you for the startup funds with a special t-shirt line.

Then I'd use the profit to expand the company and reimburse you for ur generosity.  I'd also start a local restaurant.  Most likely a food truck or even a cart in hopes to one day own my own restaurant or multiple food trucks and I'd accept Bitcoins ofcourse.  All leftover food would go to homeless and less fortunate people in my area.  That is my goal/dream, and you would play a hupe part in making it happen.  I hope u can see the value in it.  Fun thread and great idea I hope to do the same someday.

I would setup my stepson with his own wallet, transfer the coin to him, explaining the history and usefulness of BC and alt currencies, in the hope that it will elevate his interest in computer science and engineering and find much new efficient ways to mine more BC or invent his own alt currency.

Since he's only 10... I would hope BC will continue its accelerating valuation and perhaps one day he could pay his college tuition with it... Or make it his thesis to implement bitcoin as the primary form of payment, ir source of student loans, at a major University.

How's that?

"Living the Kewl Life"
Stick the 1BTC in an address all by itself. Sell each digit of the private key for 1 satoshi, but never sell more than 10 digits to any one person. Maintain a public list of who bought which keys, and watch as people barter and trade until one person has the entire key, and claims the 1BTC.

great idea! might try to expand it into a full game Wink
