Dunno anything about silver or whats legit / whats not, but just FYI to other bitcoiners, all sorts of fakes for silver and gold coins are sold cheap on Silk Road. You can buy a silver plated 1 oz fake coin for like $6 per on there. They claim it weighs the same as the real thing.

The difference is pretty obvious on those to anyone that deals with silver.  They are too thick.

I was thinking that, too. But who knows how short they are.

You had implied I was trying to rip people off which isn't the case. I should have definitely mentioned these were poured bars!  I wanted to get some facts across quickly and was in a rush. I hear Amagi and Agora provide topnotch services.  Wish them the best.

Here is a photo of the bars I had come across, so you'll see my asking price was plenty reasonable:

Them being poured bars was a rather significant fact you were totally missing in the original post..
You're very right. I have been dealing in bullion (especially silver) for a while and I had never come across or even HEARD of 1oz hand-poured Engelhard bars. I did a lot of looking and this was all I could find:

http://about.ag/Engelhard-1oz.htm

Hand-poured 1ozers have to be among the rarest Engelhard products ever made-if they were truly minted by Engelhard. That I am curious about. The pour on the pictures of these is pretty terrible. I pour my own silver with a MAPP gas torch, a poor man's crucible and wood molds I buy at the craft store...they end up looking A LOT better than that. I find it difficult to believe that Engelhard would stamp such a bar with their logo (due to their respected status). Also, nearly ALL Engelhard bars ever minted have a serial number on them-these do not. I am not necessarily accusing OP of "foul play", but it would be very easy for the Chinese to produce a "hand-poured", make an Engelhard stamp and stamp it. All things considered, I would stay away from these-even though the idea of a 1oz hand-poured Engelhard bar is pretty cool.

I have NEVER seen or even heard of poured 1oz Engelhard bars. Do you still have them?

I don't, a buddy of mine bought them and I don't think he's interested in parting with them. I had never seen these before, either. Wish I could hold onto them.  Remind me of JMC poured bars.

I never said "rip off". In the future make sure that you don't play the blame game because of your own mistake i.e. not mentioning the fact they were poured. I wasn't the first person nor was I the only one to note the high price of your silver bars.

Sorry I didn't mention that! They were pretty nice! I had kept one and so had a friend of mine. I'll try and get some more of these poured bars and bring em around.

Gotta love the drama at BTC talk! I sold the engelhard bars for $30 an ounce. I had forgotten to mention they were poured silver bars. Please don't spread rumors you know little about, Amaze!

Best,
Justin

Thanks for a personal reply and congratulations on the sale.

You don't know me and I don't know you but by reading threads on this very forum I was able paint an interesting picture about how you operate your business. So far it's issues with refunds, being defensive and the quoted text above. I will be happy to spend my btc elsewhere, seeing as veterans such as Amagi Metals and newbies like Agora Commodities both accept btc and take better care of their customers!

Of course on the personal reply. I try to hang around to answer any questions and keep a pulse on btc. Sorry if I came off defensive in that post (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2810673).

Yeah, my local coin shop has Engelhard bars for $25, so even if I was interested, not for double spot price!

I would buy every 1oz Englehard bar that shop will sell you; that is a great price!

OP's price is steep, but 1oz Englehards fetch a hefty premium over spot, as seen here.

Ebay is a blatant rip-off and so is their child - PayPal. To cover their selling fees you have to add at least 10% on top of what you want to get for your items, which is stupid.

Hold on, so BTC5 for 13 oz. of silver? BTC0.38/oz.? These must be EXTREMELY rare collector's items.  Roll Eyes

Not rare. As common as it gets.

Yeah for real. Maybe its made of gold or something.

I suspect the definition "rare" was added to fool less experienced buyers. Or perhaps because SilverVigilante needs to make some quick BTC to refund a customer who waited for his gold for three weeks, finally gave up and asked for a refund, which I believe he also has to patiently wait for.
