January 3, 2021 Genesis distribution of CPD Token.
Exactly 12 years ago Bitcoin's genesis block was mined on this date. Crypto Powered Development Project is allocating tokens as per Bitcoin's schedule. Look at how they did the airdrop at Bitcoin block halving. So, January 3, 2009 may also have a role to play.

Yes this is true, but on January 3, 2021 is scheduled to launch the ETH2 network, as well as launch the CPD browser through which will be distributed CPD Token.

strange competition! but if we can to find or cant to imagine this private key - thats mean we can hack any wallet?? as for me it very strange? as I understood private key no one can imagine!

The competition is that the CPD project group has put 100 ETH in the wallet 0x812dfd7fb17f148d5f0e85cb3018f8822ad89e91
Of course no one can guess the private key unless the owner wants us to find it.
This is why it is called "a puzzle"  Grin

100 ETH is a big bounty (now $38 000). So,  the puzzle is not expected to be easy.

So far we know that we need 5 keywords (hint #1), probably from the roadmap (hint #0):

ROADMAP

February 2, 2020 CPD Token creation.
At Bitcoin Block #629999 CPD Token airdrop to BTC holders of registered Bitcoin addresses.
May 20, 2020 CPD Token claim takes place.
From June 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020 CPD Token auction against ETH.
January 3, 2021 Genesis distribution of CPD Token.

The dates have to be changed according to hint #2
And crypto assets have to be written using 3 capital letters according to hint #3

So the sorted words in the roadmap are (removed doubles and punctuation):

2020December31  2020February02  2020June01  2020May20  2021January03 #629999 addresses
against  airdrop  At  auction Block BTC claim CPD creation Distribution ETH From Genesis
holders of place registered takes to Token

The difficult part is to figure out how to transform 5 words into 64 hex number ...

Question #1:  are these 5 words used to make a phrase such as
2020February02 CPD BTC ETH 2021January03        separator blank
          2020February02-CPD-BTC-ETH-2021January03        separator -
          2020February02CPDBTCETH2021January03            no separator
or are words transformed separately and results combined later.

Question #2: The purpose of the picture is still unknown.

Added note:
According to CPD official telegram, I quote:
"All information required to derive the private key can be done through tools
freely available online. Programming knowledge will help you to try various
combinations in a shorter time" from CPD project.

Any thoughts ?

Puzzle creators clarified in their TG group that there is nothing to look for in the image data file. They're asking to focus on the whitepaper and compare with the image to look for keywords. I think, hints given so far are in that line as well.
although they ask to focus on the whitepaper no one will be able to find the private key from the wallet, imagine how one can compose a private key by finding it in a whitepaper that may consist of 5000 words

FACTS:

1) The whitepaper consists of a total of 660 words. If we remove repeated words, we end up with 308 unique words (removed comas and periods).
2) The roadmap has 29 unique words (data have been changed according to hint #2)
3) The combined set of words gives 320 unique words. If we remove digits (2021, 21, 3 and  7) we get 316 unique words.

Is there a fixed date for the release of clues? Or they release the clues at random dates? Need more clues because right now I am nowhere close to finding the private key of that wallet lol.

Hints are published in the first days of each new month, so at least it was before that time the next one should be published on August 1

Well, that makes it an impossible puzzle to solve, as some people already say, is just a marketing strategy to capt some media attention, but the way to solve the puzzle is impossible with the hints we have right now.

It would be really easy for them to generate a new user and claim he solve the puzzle... They recover the 100ETH and the marketing strategy is a success..
As I mentioned before in this thread, they have already stated in their Telegram group that, if remain unsolved, they'll add a new clue at the beginning of every month, till the end of this year. If still remain unsolved, after Genesis Distribution Day, i.e. January 3, 2021, they'll publish the solution. So, creating a random user to move the coins is not an option for them. They'll publish a solution whether someone solves it or it remain unsolved.

First hint they told people to follow the roadmap, and now they told people to focus on the whitepaper.
I think the purpose of this puzzle is to make people read their whitepaper so people know about their project, the puzzle itself have no intention to be solved.

That's right and this is just a marketing strategy for their project. They just want to focus users on their project details , imo. If there is really a private key in the image , than only image's file name decryption maybe the way to  findout some hint for the private key. I might be right or wrong. This is just my opinion, let me know what other things about my opinion.  Wink

It's really crazy, that's why they have 3 suggestions, but still no one has been able to find the results and get the reward. I think they need to wait months and months for more clues

it seems to me a very difficult thing to be able to decipher a private key starting from an image, but maybe there are special programs that can help, I'm curious if someone will succeed and how, we will see...

There are infinite ways to search a private key hidden in an image...

You could download the image, make a sha256 from the image file and work with those numbers, or you can try to find some hidden words in the image and search brainwallets. As i say, infinite ways. So the odds to solve this are close to 0.000001%.

But good luck for all.
