So recently there have being massive wave of awareness and invitation on going on telegram and God knows where else about the particular airdrop IRON which for some reason and surprise have such high value when you check out the price value listed on trust wallet.

Note::that's the Link for the airdrop please just for reference sake
Code:
https://t.me/IRONStablecoinAirdropBot?start

So the airdrop is actually a scam and when users try to actually swap it on their trust wallet instead of them getting same results as promised, they are ripped off of their money as fee Instead. The whole thing will look so legit for a newbie in the crypto world because they dropped a video link which even convince the participant of this airdrop to believe that they can actually claim the IRON worth the price of dollar that is displayed on their trust wallet.

Supposed link for the actual swap of the coin

www.IRONswap.wiki

Please we should all be careful out there

The bull season is here and they are more and more of such projects and scam ongoing so we should all be careful out there so that we won't fall victim cause of our self greed and quest for actual free money because their is no such thing as FREE MONEY ANYWAY
Thanks for sharing OP

I also got this iron token, but I didn't care about it because I had a feeling this was just another scam token, I also got 400k USDT on the gnosis network and when I checked, it was a scam. Currently, we are entering a bullish market and it seems that when the market starts to be bullish, fraudsters will emerge to take advantage of bullish opportunities through airdrops because the current bounty program is no longer very effective

This is just the fear of many of us. This one is the highest risk in airdrop. There was a airdrop one of my friend were investing last year and the airdrop was real that of my friend was like has just won Jackpot and he finally send the coins to his wallet which was the same trust wallet and when it was time.to withdraw or transfer the token to an exchange, then they asked of a particular amount of fee.
So till date he could not send the token to another exchange and the token got burn.

Your friend shouldn’t have put his mind to it. When doing airdrops, you should know it’s like promised money, and you shouldn’t bank on it. Do it with faith and move forward. If it will come, it will come. Your thoughts don’t make it come any faster. Don’t put your money too, anything can happen before the distribution or listing or whatever.

I noticed such similar altcoins in trust wallet and whenever i go to swap, it failed. Pancakeswap indicates such altcoins as high risky while you are going to swap.. although haven't found other dex for other chain altcoins, if they indicates such warning ⚠️ or not. Maybe not. And before swap, you should check the contact of that particular token! You'll found many user tired but swap failed or never get converted into usdt. Thus you can be careful.. but don't know how long we can careful from such scams

All projects that ask you to connect a wallet to airdrops and after many connections there is a possibility of hacking you must be careful before connecting the wallet and work on the project as a phishing site after proper verification.  Website must be verified and social media must be checked before working on the project.  Currently most of the projects are scamming and most of the participants who are participating are complaining of having their wallets compromised so for now it is wise to always be wary of these fraudulent groups.

There used to be free money so I’m not sure that I will say that there isn’t because I have experienced it. But these days, it’s really hard to find free money. Even the ones you find will make you work for it even while saying that it’s free money.

This kind of scam is one that many people will fall for because many people are really scouting for airdrops and will hop on many opportunities without scrutinizing them. Hopefully your topic can save a few people from it. Because nothing hurts like losing hard earned money to thieves.

Sure. I recall there used to be very good air drops which actually gave very good yileds to those who got benefited from them. The best example I can think of was the airdrop of Uniswap. It was about 700$ in their token, given to each person who was providing liquidity in their pools for swaps. At the peak of the price of the token that airdrop was valued over 2000$, for those who decided to hold on the tokens, instead of selling them immediately.
Nowadays, I would be very impressed if some project as important as Uniswap appeared and give such an important amount, it simply does not happen anymore.

It will happen only in neverland. Haha! Even if a project wanted to do something similar, it won’t be big or the impact won’t be felt because the cryptocurrency market has gotten crowded (which is a good thing), but there’s just too many garbage projects which has affected the way things would have worked.

I have seen and heard before and often hear that this airdrop is a scam. Of course I don't keep much eye on airdrop projects, but surely we should stay away from such projects because they disappear at any moment. Including your wallets in there to collect a free airdrop token can actually be risky as all your personal information is at risk. Currently, many people are showing interest in cryptocurrency and are leaning more towards it. So scammers are trying to attract newcomers by coming up with new airdrop schemes. So we all have to be careful in advance that it is better to stay away from all the projects that are likely to be scams.

How are they able to manipulate the price to be like that though, I can't wrap my head around how they did it but with the way that they do it, I can definitely understand why this will definitely work on some people especially the newbies, they're definitely going to be onto something. While writing this post, I just remembered that I've had this experience with OpenSea too, there was this Pudgy Penguin skin upgrade token or something like that, when you try to sell it, it will redirect you somewhere that will try and access your Metamask and then steal all of the valuable crypto or NFT that you have on that wallet, I was really careful at that time and thankfully, I didn't have a lot of stuff in my OpenSea account so I was able to notice the anomaly without a problem, if I was being greedy at that time, I would've considered pursuing selling it and end up losing more in the process.

Not all airdrops are scams but groups do more scams. Through groups they try to attract bounty hunters by sharing various information. Newbies are more cheated because they have less knowledge. Do research before sharing information on any site. Scammers manipulate and scam everything through groups.

This is a big plan carried out by groups to trade in uncertain financial terms because they want to take money from beginners who take the initiative to make big profits from airdrops.
The thing is many beginners are targeted because they are the ones who are the most optimistic and hopeful and want to do everything. They just enter every project available without checking too much in it as long as they see some benefits.

It seems like this is a phishing site that traps a lot of people in it, this airdrop scam is a common occurrence among bounty hunters, for them this is a normal thing to happen because by simply entering your email and wallet address, we remain careful every time a new project appears.
This is a common method of scamming people and by now we should learn how to avoid these and be careful.

Well, I admit I did not I ow about this scheme to steal the money of people. If I was more into hunting for airdrops I think I could have definitely fall for a scam like this one. So thank you for the heads-up.

I only trust airdrop coming from project that have partnership with large exchange and is invested by big ventures, considering the risk of interaction with smart contract these days, so many scammers attempt to drain us of our money through various means and this is one of them, therefore whatever airdrop i choose to use new address with no money in it just to mitigate risk of getting drained and also always selective when it comes to airdrop, never believe something thats too good to be true, not to mention most of airdrops these days requires you to put in some effort anyway, this kind of airdrop when the coin suddenly goes to our wallet just too good to be true also always have ulterior means.
be very selective, in the bullrun there are simply too many scammers hope none of us will fall to this scheme but sometime they just really use creative way that even veteran could be misled.
airdrop hunter as far as I know are the one that have higher risk of getting drained of their money because they interact with various contracts too frequently.

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
Surprisingly, I also got some of the tokens in my wallet in a small quantity, but it seems they are listed in the exchange. I'm not sure how or why i got it but it can be from any possible airdrop but the value is not significant, which is why i didn't care that much. Also no matter what the value is, if i am not aware of any airdrop campaign i participated, i won't try to sell off that token in any dex as well. Who knows what type of new scamming methods have been used by scammers these days.
I also experienced something like this. I participated in airdrop campaigns several times and a lot of coins entered my wallet and these coins were not from the airdrop that I participated in. It does seem as if the coin is genuine but I always avoid selling it. because it's clearly a scam. There are many cases of fraud like that, the fraudsters seem to deliberately send the coins to all airdrop participants and then when we sell using a wallet connection, all our assets will also be lost.

Fraud like this often occurs among airdrop hunters, and many people always become victims because airdrop fraud is getting more sophisticated so that victims cannot differentiate between what is true and what is fake. Because it must be admitted that there are also many Airdrops that are very profitable.
Receiving a coin you have never heard about in your wallet should raise an alert on your mind, since it is clear a group of scammers is watching and monitoring every single one of the moves of your coins, and if you give them an opportunity you can be sure they are going to use it to their advantage and steal everything you have worked so hard to obtain over the years, unfortunately many newbies make the mistake of thinking about such events as fortunate, and when trying to interact with those coins they lose the rest of the assets they had on that wallet.

With Bull season such scams are common as everyone wants a piece of the pie. Only very few airdrops are legit and those which are legit will need the user to do some activities. Airdrops are not free anymore as a user needs to invest both money and time to be part of it. There was a time when they used to be free but users were asked to do a few task for getting a $5 airdrop and sometime less than that amount.

For the very reason that I've thought about how possible it could be for a project firm to just keep giving such attractive amounts of money for a giveaway when the participants never worked for it, I've much as that been in doubt that there's nothing like free money just as earlier said.
Although there had been existed and still existing reputable projects giving out genuine rewards. It's just quite unfortunate that lot of fraudulent projects are admist of them.
Just as the Op, has sanctioned, it's better you don't chase free money out of greeds and looses your hard earned money on the process. Carefulness is always the key to refrain from scamming victim.

To be honest any Airdrop is basically a scam. People want to try win big and so they will accumulate as many free tokens as they can in the hopes that one of them will 1000x by chance. Majority of these airdrops are actually just malicious JavaScript which crypto drain your wallets using obfuscated code. Do not connect your metamask or any other browser based wallet to claim am airdrop..

I beg to disagree. Some airdrops are legitimate projects while others are not simple as that.

I have known many people who have profited from airdrops. Yes it is rare for projects to get high value but it is true that it does sometimes and maybe this is the reason why a lot of people fall victim to it. They get too excited with the prospect of free tokens that could potentially make you rich in the future.

In this altcoin market things are not easy for the bounty hunters, they spend many months publicizing the projects, after many months publicizing the projects when it comes time for the project owners to pay, they keep going around, telling stories like: no We can pay now because we are afraid that all the bounty hunters will sell and the token will drop a lot in price. It's funny that the project owners are the first to sell when they realize that the price has risen a lot and has a high risk of falling a lot and when they decide to pay the bounty hunters, the price of the token is no longer worth anything, so in my opinion this is a form of scam. By this I mean that even at the end of the day these new altcoins end up being scams for bounty hunters

Thank you for sharing this vital information for everyone. I am part of the people who participated in this airdrop and i most say it is indeed a scam project that so many persons has become a victim. I was lucky enough to know have tried to exchange it on my trust wallet. Immediately i saw the red flag i quickly deleted it from my wallet.

Am not surprised that some persons still see the need to.come up with scam.project to steal from the innocent. It wont stop soon but we should take all the necessary security measures to not fall victim.

it seems that every 4 years things always tend to get worse, probably these scammers are waiting when the time for bitcoin halving arrives because they know that many people will be attracted by big quick profits, so these scammers keep creating scam projects, unfortunately x and telegram don't have Nothing has been done to prevent at least the number of people who fall for these types of scams from being very low. That's why the solution is for people to be careful and not participate in scam projects. In a few months we will see a lot of weird altcoins being created
