The 100Th/s bitfury operation in Kiev failed.  The boards were no good.
The jump was probably them coming online and crashing.

Everybody wants their next hash rate fix (bitfury seems to be the drug of choice these days).
I guess, be careful what you wish for.
Today, we got a preview of what the future with bitfury will look like.
50-100% difficulty jumps every two weeks will be the new normal.
People will use Avalons as monitor stands  Wink

This ASIC train is moving too fast...

probably avalon and......BFL (no really).

100TH is not operational yet, only ~400GH is online. though, there are a few TH from bitfury chips....https://ghash.io/

also, don't discount private ASICs. there are rumors/talk of several private ASIC projects.

Why is this such a mystery?  Avalon Batch 3 pretty much just came online in the past 2 weeks.  Also some of the first chip Avalon chip batches have arrived.  That's >50TH right there!  Add in China/ASICMINER spitting out chips like crazy and well...

Interestingly enough...6-9 months from now we will probably be looking back at these old posts wishing we only had 100TH showing up overnight!

Wow man that is insane.

Yup, and everyone is still pre-ordering dream machines with the premise they will ever pay themselves off.  Only the lucky few...

Look like it was variance or a very short burnin test.

Looks like my estimate of 4 months until the first generation ASICs are obsoleted will be on the money.

Repost from the KnC thread

  • Day 1 doesn't actually mean the first day of shipping.
  • There are a lot of unpaid orders up to order number 1824.
  • Somehow KNCminer will be shipping almost 2000 x 4RU units in a single day....  Shocked

I don't know how many orders were required to sell out KnC's September batch, but based on October stock, they would appear to have over 1 pentahash for sale.

ASICMiner seems to have added about 10 TH over the weekend. Don't know where that other 90 is though. Not variance.

Next difficulty increase will be 26%!  Shocked

Anyone notice where the increase has been? In a pool or by an individual miner (unknown)?
