people have to wake up... bitcoin's future should not be dependant on mtgox!!

No shit Sherlock. If an individual actually believes it all depends on a single terrible exchange such as Gox then that person doesnt deserve to own any coins. Once they are fully gone the other exchanges will take over their share.

Well that's it.  No way to communicate with them (as if there ever was).  No way to get coins or cash out.  IOW, it appears they have stolen every coin and every dollar of cash that their customers had.

It worse if it's legitimate.  It's an appallingly put together document.  If that's the level of competence being brought to a crisis then there's no hope for MtGox.

MtGox next announcement:

Dear Customers,

Unfortunately Godzilla has damaged our virtual offices in his latest rampage through Tokyo. This has caused a minor hiccup in our malleability repair schedule. We will be updating you soon on the further progress.

Trading has stopped. I can confirm there is no activity happening. Of course there has been no announcement though. It just stopped.

This order book is usually moving like crazy. http://bitcoin.clarkmoody.com/   Nothing now.

And the price on their homepage usually updates constantly but now it just oscillates between two similar prices.

Unconfirmed reports on reddit that trading has now been disabled.  Still waiting for a screenshot from someone I consider trustworthy.

The fact that they never said: "Your coins are safe." or "We're solvent." speaks loudly!

Not really, a company wouldn't want to have to even entertain those doubts.  Imagine the headlines: "MtGox denies it is insolvent".

maybe, or maybe the FUD from the guy saying mtgox lost 750,000 btc
They surely did. Via TM, or hacking, or account takeover that was fixed in January, but has been in the wild for who knows how long. The fact that they never said: "Your coins are safe." or "We're solvent." speaks loudly!
