No, it gives you (currently) almost 8% more income without slowing down your BTC mining at all. But if you don't want that you can set NMC donation to 100% to get rid of them. No need to switch pools to get rid of extra income, the pool is always happy to accept it as donations.  Grin
Fair enough, Will do that Cheesy

It has temperature monitoring only for BFL FPGAs and BFL ASICs. Monitoring of GPUs got stuck on the TODO list while I have been busy with other things.

that explains it Smiley thank you, I like cgminer more anyway but i tested it because it looks cool!, and if in the future you add a temperature and fan gauge it would be even cooler! Cheesy
thanks

any one have a suggestion as to some nmc to btc exchanges? we will need one.  this is the second one to bust out on me this year. At least the amounts were under .1 btc each time.

BTC-e or Cryptonit (which seems down ATM Sad )

yeah btc-e is working    i think the other site you named is also hacked

Yes, many of us will be affected by the Vircurex hack I lost coins too, not that I thought it would never happen but it always sucks. The https link is dead but for those interested just use http://vircurex.com

The only good thing that it reminds us all is how important it is to be the real owner of all the addresses we care about...

. Do NMC mining takes something from BTC mining power?, if so, is there is any way to disable it?

. I am trying bitminter client (just for the fun of it) and I wonder, I don't see any monitoring feature in it, (temps, fan speed, card % activity, voltage, etc) however in "Menu - view" there is an option that says use Farenheit (F), so does it have monitoring or not? hehe Smiley

No, so don't worry.

For disabling, switch pool.

Thanks, no need to switch, if doesn't take from BTC, it won't hurt Smiley thanks!

Hello!
I just joined your pool with one card to test it out before move more.

I don't understand the merged mining thing... I can see that I am making some NMC but i am not interested in NMC, only BTC, so my question:

. Do NMC mining takes something from BTC mining power?, if so, is there is any way to disable it?

Another not related:

thank you!

Thank you very much for the in-depth analysis, always fascinating to read these reports. It clearly shows indeed that thanks to the extra NMC and mining fees income, even with bad luck the actual rewards stay close to 0% fee PPS.

I think the only pool that gives better payouts (disregarding luck) would be the BitParking MM pool, because of the extra DVC/IXC, although they don't include mining fees in payouts. I'm currently testing it and it is, I would say, fine for a geek user but totally unusable for newbies and the Average Joe. I'll probably head back to BitMinter after testing...

Again, thank you for taking the time to show the worried miners that no Evil Force was plotting against us ;-)

I'm a returning miner, its been about a year and a half, I ordered just 1 "lowly" 7870xt and will be joining your pool, in the mean time It looks like I've got some learnin to do. It's a bit different then it was in 2011

Not sure what you mean having to pay for the miner. There's no extra fee for using BitMinter client over other mining clients.

If your miner only works on your pool then anyone who uses your miner has to pay you a fee.
e.g. mine 100BTC has to pay you 1BTC (>$100)
Of course everyone else mining on the pool does also, but if the miner is locked into the pool, then the fee is locked in also.

Wow look at realasicminer go!  Is there an end in sight, as far as how high he can go?  Undecided

I know right!? their speed has been jumping up almost every day!

I would really like to know what ASICs they got their hands on.
Given the rising power (rather than one big boom) it seems almost like they're assembling their own

Are you in here realasicminer? Smiley

Quick website update, now showing "processing" for new unchecked blocks instead of "stale". I hope to have the processing time back to normal again soon too.

Oh, and about the email notifications for the 1% fee, they did go out. But I assume some of you didn't get them because of spam filtering. Email is becoming a very unreliable medium for communication, and it's not easy to send out thousands of mails without some of them being eaten by spam filters. Sad

organofcorti has done a very thorough audit of BitMinter's payouts:

http://organofcorti.blogspot.com/2013/05/131-bitminter-and-luck.html

I'd summarize it this way: when we have bad luck we still pay better than most mining pools. When we have good luck we pay a lot more.

Can you really ask for more?

Thanks to organofcorti for the excellent work. If you need to make sense of numbers he's well worth the price.
