I believe cgminer and bfgminer will have bASIC support before the devices ship.

As for BitMinter client, I will try to get remote access to a bASIC as early as possible. If I don't get this from the bASIC guys then I will probably not have a working implementation on day 1. But I probably could within a day or two.

I started a thread to get info on the new protocol that will be used to control the bASICs: https://www.btcfpga.com/forum/index.php?topic=99

If the protocol specs are released early then it means only some (hopefully short) time for debugging is needed with an actual device.

Linux since 1997 RedHat 4
yeah today ended at 14 which is just a bit above normal of 11 or 12.  I am almost paid off just in time for the half block split and then the asics come out in dec or jan.

 that reminds me i am thinking of getting a BTCFPGA  a 54 GH/s model for $1069.99.  link is here;

  so my question to the dr  will this plug n play?

 I would use it with one of my pc's
Since this is a pool thread Smiley
I'll answer that.
Yes it will plug and play ... with cgminer.

whitephantom you are hashing 50 plus to my 6 or so.

 the numbers add up a lot quicker for you then me,
The numbers do add up quickly at 50GH with an unlucky streak (or a lucky one).  The last 4 days has been at least $100 worth of bitcoins less per day than normal.  I won't sweat it at all when everything's paid off, but I'm not there yet.

Hang in there, guys. Today 12 blocks and counting. Smiley
Yup, I'm liking today.  Smiley  Feeling more normal again.

luck has been terrible.
17th = 9
18th = 7
19th = 6
20th = 7

 that is 29 for 4 days. 44-48 would be normal. oh also 2 stales and 2 orphans for those same 4 days.
Thanks for the factual post.

I knew I felt like our luck was going badly, but seeing the actual numbers like that makes me feel sick.  Cry

I hope things average out over the next week before the block reward halves.

I can't say for sure how long it has been, but from a day or two ago I have 0 accepted (and 0 rejected) shares? Wtf? cgminer reports the speed accurately (2.4.1 on openwrt) but that's that, basically.

Are you seeing accepted shares in cgminer, but not on website under "my account" -> "workers" ?

You are sure you are using the correct credentials in your cgminer config?

If you send me your BitMinter user name I can have a look at things on the server side. You can email me at [email protected]

No accepted shares on either cgminer or website, and yes, I'm sure the credentials are correct (unchanged). I'll email you the username.

Just gave cgminer 2.9.4 a whirl on the test port and everything seems to be fine. using 2x BFL minirigs

Awesome Smiley Let me know if you see anything strange. After a block change (long poll) bfgminer sometimes says the server is issuing old work. It shouldn't, of course, but I may have a bug there.

Also, we are now making version 2 blocks. It will probably be a while before v2 blocks are required though, as 50BTC and DeepBit have not made the switch yet.

You can see the v1 to v2 transition as it happens at http://blockorigin.pfoe.be/top.php

A workid with what? With the block submit? There is an id sent, and it matches that which the request for a template went out with. Yes, it's always zero... is that the problem? The data is all completely reconstructed for a block submit so the actual id of where the template came from doesn't seem to be relevant to any other pool. Is this the issue for you? I'm just trying to understand...

Not the JSONRPC request id but the GBT "workid" value that is sent out with every template. The spec requires that you send it back to the pool with every block submit. Apparently Eligius and Eclipse MC don't use the workid so they don't care if it's missing. But my implementation is dependent on it as of now. I am thinking about having it search through the coinbase to figure out the workid if it is missing, though.

Hmm under " Submitting shares" on https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Getblocktemplate#For_developers I see no mention of a  workid value. What is this workid value?

EDIT:  We discussed this on IRC and came to a resolution. cgminer 2.9.4 should be good to go with GBT on bitminter.

GBT (getblocktemplate) testing is up on port 9000.

Testing so far:

cgminer isn't sending a workid and so every proof-of-work is rejected with the message "unknown-work". Have to look into this.

Not much point testing cgminer (2.9.3) further before the workid issue is resolved. But please do test bfgminer and any GBT proxy you may have. Let me know how it runs.

Sorry, guys, I accidentally turned on var diff on port 8332. Fixed. I guess ztex btcminer only supports diff 1?

I have been watching port 9000 to make sure that noone left a cgminer unattended and getting everything rejected. Since that's not the case I will leave GBT up for testing.
