I second the choice for Awesome Miner. great stuff. Worth it 100%

here the link if OP is needed
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/awesome-miner-powerful-windows-gui-to-manage-and-monitor-up-to-200000-miners-676942

but for me, I have concerns about using this soft and here is why
this soft showing the max profitable coin right this moment, why? cause the price went up or the diff went down  - if you start mine it , you will never achieve those high profits,  because by the time your coins mature - and the price and diff all would change and usually they will become worth..
so that is why it is not the best way for me.

You don't have to just profit switch.  You can use Awesome Miner to mine specific coins.  You can even create your own pool group of just the coins you want to mine or switch between like say Eth, Zcash, and Zen for instance.

Awesome miner is kind of like "software-defined" mining.

There's also Awesome Miner for your Windows based rigs.  It's free for up to 2 rigs.  It offers a dazzling array of settings and options to get the most out of your rigs, and once you get your head around the concepts is easily one of the best in my opinion.  The developer is also very active and will work on bugs and features very quickly.

I am a newb to the mining scene but terribly addicted. I have 3 current rigs:

#1 has 3 x EVGA GTX 1080 TI FTW3'S
#2 has 3 x EVGA GTX 1080 TI SC's
#3 has 3 x Zotac GTX 1080 Mini's
#4 has 1 x AMD Vega Frontier Edition

All are dedicated Win10 rigs with 8 GB ram and 120 GB SSD'S.

Without the Vega, the rigs were averaging $25-$29 profitability per day using Nicehash 1.8.1.2.

I tried dualmining ETH with Claymore but it seemed to crawl re the ETH. I am looking to maximize profits whatever that means.

Would linux make a marked difference? Not opposed to that as well.

Any and all tips are appreciated.

You should try nemos's multiminer, and try mining lbry and digibyte (skein) directly with the 1080s, make sure you download alexis miner as in my experience its the best one.
