I think mostly celebrities are on NFT's wherein only El Salvador really adopt bitcoin and use it as a legal tender, and for me i don't think if those celebrities realy using crypto because you know obviously for sure they become part of crypto projects because of being so popular. I mean they're just using their name to advertise the projects easily. Not the real adoption like what El Salvador did. Just saying

Since most of these celebrities were shilling shitcoins, memecoins,NFTs and crypto scams,I think it would be better to move this forum thread into the Altcoin discussion forum.
Those celebrities didn't adopt Bitcoin, they adopted all of the above mentioned "coins".Most of those coins cannot be called cryptocurrencies, because they are centralized shitcoins.
I'm sure that many celebrities have bough Bitcoin, but the vast majority of them won't reveal that they are currently HODLing BTC because:
1.There's no need for them to reveal such info.
2.There's no incentive for them to promote BTC,compared to all the shitcoin/NFT projects, which are being promoted and which prices are being pumped.
3.Bitcoin is a part of the pop culture and it isn't such a big deal,if someone is HODLing Bitcoins.

So I was reading news on cryptocurrency adoption in 2021 and stumbled upon a list of notable celebrities that adopted cryptocurrency and top on the list is Snoop Dogg, Elon musk, Mark Zuckerberg etc, this have shown the path for wider crypto adoption in the coming years as institutions and entrepreneurs now diving into the crypto space.

All good except the Elon Musk. He was always vocal in supporting cryptos for sure but he manipulated the market like anything. He started with bitcoin, then moved to dogecoin and then started promoting a meme coin like Shiba Inu. That's not good! He knows his power and influence on social media and he used his influence very cleverly to manipulate the price of cryptos.

Being vocal is good and manipulation of market is crime!

There are many celebrities who release their own NFTs, but actually, I don't think that it is a very good investment. If this picture (video) is not backed by something, most likely you will not sell it on the secondary market. Sometimes such NFTs give you an opportunity to have an appointment with this famous person or get tickets for concerts with a discount then, it is better, but still, I would rather not buy such NFTs.
Yes right if the project or your NFT is one time hype then what would the holders get after they spend huge funds for them? The market is now against those projects which are just jpeg images or does not have any utility to serve in the market as they can't sell it later on at profit and they will keep dumping to some below levels.

Talking about celebrities there are many who are investing in crypto market these days but at current most of them are jumping into NFT space to make high profits within short period. With time many others will also reveal they hold crypto.

Make no mistake about it, some of those are in the list are celebrities and sport personalities.

So it makes me wonder if they are in crypto for long term or just riding the popularity of it since we have a good early bull run as bitcoin reaches all time high and other altcoins too.

This is very similar to 2017s' peak, wherein there's a lot of them joining, but where are those individuals now?

Celebrities can have big capital but it does not mean they will spend all capital they have into crypto market. They are people who lack of knowledge about crypto technically but they can have good impacts to their fan communities. If they invest in crypto, many of their fans will know about it, and some of them (not too litle) will follow them to invest in crypto.

However, such people are weak hands in early months they participate in crypto market. They are retail investors I meant and retail investors are not as important as institutional investors. I have more interested in institutional investors because they are long term investors and have plans for long run.

Their capital allocation, reallocation can seriously affect the market both positively and negatively.

All of those mentioned celebrities are obviously crypto supporters for years specially Snoopdog, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg in which for long their businesses had been connected to cryptocurrency specially Bitcoin.

but it is still happy to see when someone sharing this for the benefits of the whole forum that people like us will love seeing.
and this may lead to more adoption as they are best example why people must enter and invest in crypto when these Millionaires(If not Billionaires) are already putting their Money inside this market.

The list is good and it makes way for more common people get into cryptocurrency usage. These people easily make money out of the market than the common man. As per my view the real adoption is the one that happens in the ground level. This means when the common man starts using automatically this will term to be a big change. Right now this can be experienced in El Salvador as the government itself have legalized the usage of bitcoin. Maybe similar change can happen with different countries through different celebrities who are in hard analysis about cryptocurrency usage.

In my country popular celebrities have begun to come on cryptocurrency exchange advertisements, but none have revealed any statement on the same.

At first there were celebrities that were used for advertisement and there were some that has been dragged into scam and allegations.

But those celebrities that have built their empire like Akon, they're really taking their fame's advantage to built what they want to built. Well, they're just like us.

Holders and investors.

If only the poor people adopt this kind of perception and therefore invest even just a little bit of their money and wait for time to sell, then it would
much better for them than work out their asses a minimum of 8 hours a day just to survive. This celebrities are already rich and this would only make them more wealthier.

Adoption has been some of the ways to help Bitcoin popularity and acceptance by the general public. Not so many persons are smart or see potentials in a growing field hence, most persons confer on others, the credibility or knowledge of investment on them and want a piece of the pie. Lucky enough, these ideas are pushed by the social media for which majority of the populace pays attention to and is dominated by the hypes of celebrities and as well, there choice to invest in cryptocurrency.

While reading this list I realized we still have a long way to go.

They put El Salvador's president, Nayib Bukele, who made Bitcoin legal tender there, created Bitcoin city, started mining with volcanic energy, etc, in the same list as Kim Kardashian who simply got paid to promote a shitcoin in an instagram post.

Indeed to get Bitcoin into mainstream we need to have celebrities using it first, but of course most shitcoins are just jumping into this opportunity by paying a lot of money to have celebrities endorse them.

Also, they somehow didn't put US Senator Cynthia Lummis in this list, she has disclosed bitcoin purchases worth up to $100k, and also Senator Pat Toomey, who also has invested in Bitcoin.

Thanks for the link and its nice to be reminded of those celebs who bought
Bitcoin and got into crypto this year but I am really shocked as to the level
of traction and investment DOGE got, there was a frenzy this year for that
$hitcoin and it has slipped out of the top 10 on coinmarketcap and will likely
keep slipping until some celeb gives it a jolt.

Anyway its great to see celebs getting into Bitcoin it means that their followers
have been exposed to it too, and they probably bought some on Revolut.
