In your 13th anniversary, you gave us a shocking surprise by writing this long text which is common with JJG, actually you are among the least I expected to write something long as this.
It's amazing to see that there are so many people with this forum who have been here for a long time. In this we saw from another legend that he has been working with this form for 13 years and spending time with everyone. There are many more legendary people who have not spent time with the forum so far but they have left the forum long ago. @OgNasty There are very few people like you who have been with this forum for so long, but I congratulate you for staying with us for so long. Of course we hope you share your knowledge with us more and more so that we can learn from them and stick with this Forum for a long time like you.

One of the things I really appreciated about this forum when I joined was how I was able to contact and have discussions with people like Gavin Andresen, Mike Hearn, Roger Ver, even though I was a nobody.  I've tried hard to be that available for others over the years and while that has mostly resulted in people spreading lies about me to get a response, I know there are also many people out there who appreciate the time I take for people here.
Is Ironic how Gavin Andresen and Roger Ver became a disappointment now, while one moved from being the chief scientist in Bitcoin to become one who was supporting CW ad Satoshi though he had communication with Satoshi and was somehow the one who instigated Satoshi leaving when he went to give presentation about Bitcoin in CIA HQ while the other, Roger Ver moved from the Bitcoin jesus to become one who was misleading others to get bitcon cash as bitcon

Gavin Andresen and Roger Ver aren’t disappointments. They were people close enough to the situation to see what was happening and they chose to handle it in different ways. Gavin admitted he made a mistake with CW and walked away from Bitcoin development because he was being badgered by Blockstream supporters. Once they got control of development they started pushing their own patented scaling solution that was not only unnecessary, but lacked many of the things that made Bitcoin special. Roger then tried to fork the coin after Blockstream didn’t honor the New York agreement they agreed to in order to get miners to activate segwit. While Blockstream controls the narrative now, people are waking up to what they did and their dishonorable behavior to get their way at the cost of many existing Bitcoin businesses and use cases. In other words, the bad guys won and Gavin and Roger are now painted as enemies of the community they worked so hard for. I was there. Roger may not have handled it in the best way, but he is still a BTC legend and anyone who says otherwise is probably on the Blockstream payroll or learned about Bitcoin after 2016.

Thanks everyone!  I just happened to click my profile and saw it was my anniversary so I figured why not pat myself on the back.  After seeing all the replies I felt everyone deserved a response.  Now to do some push-ups...

Congratulations OgNasty. You are a popular figure in this forum and your contribution and impact is visible. 13 years is huge and I want you to be proud of what you have contributed to this forum, the recent being the 100 pushups per day challenge that is helping many in their health already.  As a donator,  you helped in making this forum what it is today. We are proud of you and once again, congratulations.

The 100 push-ups per day challenge has been fun.  I suggest everyone join in there

Nice work @OgNasty.

13 years on Bitcointalk is not a day thing, and I like your badges because you are also one of the most recognized, most merited and lot more. 13 years on Bitcointalk shows that you have achieved a lot of things in this forum. However, congratulations to you for staying this long in the forum.

Thanks.  I couldn't care less about badges but I'm proud of my accomplishments here nonetheless.

 Cheesy

Congratulations Og. You are the real OG which means a person who is highly respected and influential in the community. And in the forum, I respect you and consider you as one of the most influential figures on the forum. If not for anything you have "Donator" added to your profile. I learn from the lot of you and hope that in some years to come, I can put up this type of topic. Congratulations.

It is cool that I'm a donator.  That title really shows who came here for Bitcoin.  I didn't have to donate and got nothing out of it (except hate).  I'd do it again though.  No regrets.

If everything be equal, everyone deserves a second chance regardless of breaking the law directly or indirectly. I don't know in details of how Ross Ulbricht got convicted and condemned to rot in prison but however, jail is what I don't wish for anyone be it culprit or an innocent person.

He's done more than his fair share of time.  It's time for Ross to come home.

Each time I see people who believed in Bitcoin when it was nothing, I show them so much respect. These set of persons believed in a strange currency that was worth nothing and had hope that it will be beneficial to them in the future. Some people mocked them while others saw them as lunatics. But they kept believing in Bitcoin and today they are now celebrities. Congratulations to you, @OgNasty, for your patience and bravery all these years. I wish you more prosperous years in this forum and the entire Bitcoin industry.

You are a rare breed.  Most people enjoy disrespecting those they should admire online.  For what it's worth, the people in my life who thought I was a lunatic for getting involved in Bitcoin back in 2011 still think I'm a lunatic, only now I think the same of them because they still don't own any BTC.  I also appreciate your acknowledgement of bravery, as I've been attacked every way someone can be and I'm still here.

time flies. during that time some people are also joined asking whether the USB miners still are working. a lot of people jump right in after the first bull run. ETF wasn't in the mind of the users but now it seems like it's a crypto election coming. it's definitely going mainstream despite Biden vetoing the bill.

congrats Og and Trump for the win!  Grin

I remember when USB miners were invented.  I should have stayed far away.  I spent countless BTC reselling them for USD to make miniscule profits, but I guess I probably got hundreds of people started mining BTC, so that's nice.

"congrats Og and Trump for the win!" is something I never thought I'd see.  I like it though.  Probably only second to me being called the Batman of this forum (Lauda used to joke that I was Batman and he was the Joker here.  I saved people from being robbed with my escrow services and he would rile up psychos with lies to attack me).

It's great that even after these years, a BTC-grandfather like you continues to remain active on this forum and are willing to share your wisdom of the sage and knowledge. Smiley

After 13 years of being involved in this little hobby, what parting words do you have for those new to the crypto industry? I just ask for something original, and not the banal phrases that we can see here every day. I demand wish to hear something priceless from the old bitcoiner. Smiley You'll make us happy, won't you?

Perhaps his release is feasible if Trump has spoken about it.
https://x.com/RealRossU/status/1794865086135521737

"parting words" makes it sound like I'm in hospice.  I'd like to think I'll be around another 10-20 years.  I don't really have any wise words at the moment.  I guess I would say that Bitcoin has a way of separating money from those who seek to profit from it, while enriching those who believe in it.

Ross coming home is on the ballot.

Congratulations OgNasty on this milestone. You have been a good contributor to the forum and there is no doubt. 13 year of being  active is enough to prove that you have contributed wholly to the forum thanks for your efforts, I have learnt enough from your posts and I hope you keep this record going as one of the important personalities of this forum.

I'd like to think my personality is that of not giving a fuck.  Ever since this forum turned to selective censorship it has been flooded with liberal crybabies who need a dose of reality.

Its been a long way coming and it's amazing how active you are till now I guessed this is something easy for folks especially in WO, who have built a family discussing about bitcoin and other stuffs that are interesting to them,  it's not easy getting to you guys are now from criticism to becoming possibly millionaires now. Great though congratulations, your curiosity brought you here and now you made a family from it beautiful.

Wow, I guessed I need to go read more about Silk Road but all I can say now was that his punishment seems too harsh to me.

Do you think Donald Trump will stick to his word or just doing all this since he is trying to get full support of those supporting cryptocurrencies and bitcoin while Biden as been so much disappointing in general especially in this space.

It seems Donald as been against bitcoin before and recently changed because of the election while even Biden is also trying to do similar but it's obvious he won't get reelected after all the mess he has done.
I have learnt not to trust politicians especially those aspiring to become president, they can say anything to get to that position in their manifesto.

Unlike some people (shots fired, IYKYK), Donald Trump is a man of his word and I respect that.  He said he'd pardon Ross and he will.

Congratulations, for 13 long years you have been in this forum with repute. (1 Yuga One Year) It is a long way you have come, may you have a good journey.  You are one of the few experienced people on this forum, so I wish you the best of luck in the future. And you have gained a lot of reputation in this forum just by your experience, you are a great person of course.

Shhh...  I've worked hard to have the reputation of an asshole.  We can't start talking about the tens of thousands in BTC trades I helped people safely facilitate here.

Thank you OgNasty has been on this forum for a long time, thank you most of all you have believed since 2011.  When Bitcoin was new, you collected Bitcoins on faith.  So thank you for your bravery and risk-taking, which is why you are the most faithful of the old at this time. You are one of the few old users available in this forum, because you have the most patience as you have been alive in this forum for a long time. And you will live on with us in the future, so thank you for coming this long on this forum.

Faith.  Indeed.  Living on here after I'm gone is a wild thought.  I'm proud of what I've done here.  Those who watch actions instead of words no doubt recognize and appreciate my contributions.

13 years ago 50btc per block...but now 3.125 btc per block..
Congratulations OG.
Time cannot be framed in any way. You've seen a lot more change today than you saw in Bitcoin 13 years ago. Bitcoin ETF was a dream in the past but now Bitcoin ETF is a reality. In the future there will be more development on Bitcoin and we will see more Bitcoin revolution.

I hope you're right.  I believed Gavin Andresen back in 2011 when he said there would be 3 Bitcoin bubbles.  This upcoming one will be #4, so while you might make the argument that 2021 bubble never happened because of FTX, I do believe the explosive growth of the past will no longer continue at some point, and likely some point in the next 5-10 years (if not sooner).

There are very few old users on Bitcoin forums, but I respect you enough as a 13 year old. Because you have achieved total six batches in 13 years, these batches are not visible in everyone's profile. Yet you live in truth and have a long way to go. Thank you for that and congratulations.

On a forum, truth matters.  That's why it's insane to me that the literal trust network here has a liar and manipulator at the top.  Indeed we all have a long way to go if truth is the goal.

Congratulations @OgNasty for successfully passing 13 years with Bitcoin on the Bitcoin Forum. You are a popular person and a donor in this forum. Your contribution will be remembered by members of this forum for life. It is only because of people like you that I have followed this forum that it has remained popular and is becoming more and more popular with people. You've gained a lot and lost a lot from this Bitcoin forum in your 13 years. Anyway, hope you keep up the way you've been holding this forum and we'll be under your shadow. Finally I wish you long life may the creator give you long life and also I wish long life to all your family members.

I'd much rather be laying in the shadow then facing the sun.  I'm old.  Feel free to outgrow me at any time.

Happy 13 years of great contribution, impact, love to the community so far @OgNasty, indeed you deserve your flowers for all the good work and ideas you have shared to the community not excluding myself you are among the High rank members with core value I believe everyone look up to.
It was worth signing up for, congratulations once again.

Thanks.  I've never been given flowers before.

@OgNasty Thanks for all you do! In your 13 year long journey you have played a major role in this bitcointalk forum community. Since almost the beginning of Bitcoin and the forum, you have been a loyal guy as an old member. The forum goes so far because of people like you.  Been there since the beginning of the forum so you have been through all the storms of the forum to prove yourself to be the best. As you have passed 13 years I hope you will contribute more to the forum in the years to come, I think it will be your duty as you are the veteran of the forum whom everyone follows.

That's pretty much how I feel about my participation here these days.  'It's my duty.'

7 years earlier your know the forum than me, that was an extraordinary experience and gift, I still imagine the price of Bitcoin 13 years ago, maybe if it was still stored at this time it would only be 100Btc, it's unimaginable, forget it.

You are an innovation for beginners, that's an honor, I remember getting my first (achievement) from you, that's a source of pride for me, 13 years you have been here as an artist for beginners, I pray for you to have a long and healthy life.
+1

I recognize you as a longtime contributor YOSHIE.  I wish you'd focus more on spreading positivity than negativity through your left trust feedback, but respect that you continue to be active here and try to make this a better place as well.

It's really amazing to see that some people are using this forum even if they were the ones who adopted Bitcoin at its early days. In 13 years baby can be somewhat young and it's not a short duration. I believe some OG's will stay with us for much longer time than 13 years and I'm sure Philipma1957 is one of such people.

I hope phil stays around many years as well.  He's a great guy and I wish him the best.  I've been following his recovery from surgery and stepping into shape.  He seems to be doing great!

13 years ago I signed up for a forum to ask some questions about mining Bitcoin with my home computer. I didn’t realize the journey I was heading off on at the time, but I have to say that things have gone just about as well as they could have. Mainstream acknowledgement, ETFs, giant market caps… These were pipe dreams. So glad I stumbled on this little hobby of ours and decided to try and help change the world.

Having cheated once, it is best not to give him a second chance. Because he committed enough crimes to go to jail, I think it would be best to avoid it.

I think everybody deserves a second chance so I signed the petition seeking for clemency Ross Ulbricht. His crime might have affected so many lives negatively, but he deserves to be pardoned. He is a first offender, and his crime is not a violent one; he should be given a second chance to correct his wrongs. With his past experience, he can be a great asset to the world.

Congratulations OgNasty, 13 years on this forum is not an easy journey as some who started with you are no where to be found, either they lost interest in the forum, died or moved on to other things just like Satoshi Nakamoto did but you stood stronger and determined to have and share this adventure with everyone of us here therefore i commend your resilience and hard work and i wish to also have same experience in the future.

If everything be equal, everyone deserves a second chance regardless of breaking the law directly or indirectly. I don't know in details of how Ross Ulbricht got convicted and condemned to rot in prison but however, jail is what I don't wish for anyone be it culprit or an innocent person.
