It’s one of the books I went through last summer, and found it a fascinating story to read (and not just because it all started in Ibiza …).
I'm struck at that party scene where the twins meet Shrem for the first time and after that didn't have enough time to start them again.  Undecided

In 2019 I found this, which I believe you saw back then
Yup, aware of this one and have a copy as well. But Belisarius, the member who requested for the ecash.pdf says this pdf was from 2017 when checked via metadata and obviously we cannot verify the authenticity of it. The same has been posted in this research tweet as well : https://twitter.com/wizsecurity/status/1345801257340919808

I have tagged Adam Back on twitter twice looking for a copy, but he didn't respond either. So probably, we should consider the original authentic satoshi written paper to be a lost memorabilia.   Cry

<...>If you can find a link to the file please post here or send a PM!<...>
Found this: https://draftable.com/compare/rCuIgdwzImUI

The URL seams clean, and it compares the draft to the released version, showing the differences quite clearly. It may be wise to verify that the compared versions are solid though - there is no date/timestamp.

Edit: This site seems to point to the same differences between draft and released version: https://www.gwern.net/docs/bitcoin/2008-nakamoto#
I’m not certain that anybody has managed to attest to its authenticity 100%, but not have I read the opposite comments on the above links. I’m not aware of any prior releases.

This was the beginning of the financial era and to free us from the chain of central slavery that was putting burden on us and we would still be living in the delusionary world where inflation slowly would rob you and only the Elite class would survive on your working hard and government puppets would still be circulating fake reports and all that bullshit.

But this was the time Satoshi changes the monetary system and he knows this that whether it would be zero or most valuable currency based on trust system with full security and decentralisation of power which Government fears.

If you don't understand it or know it then i don't have time to convince you .

To all the Faketoshis who claim to be original Satoshi like Craig Wright we are enjoying 13th Bitcoin White paper journey with kudos to the original one laughing on all the fake one's.

The nine(9) pages that is gradually paving a way for a new era in decentralized systems in contrast to the centralization that has held the world in the grips of the politicians and corrupt governance. I tell you, most persons not excluding myself haven't got the time to go through these pages beforehand neither are a few others aware of this day *anniversary) and the few that may be don't even put it into account. Its the way of our society as it is, sometimes we, people just jump in without looking at its foundation. Maybe for bitcoin, it's because the project have stood and the most popular crypto commodity there is but, the white paper on a project is a most read.
I do hope things will change with this thread on the forum. Nice one!

I don’t know if you’ve seen/read about Gemin's billboard freaky campaign in New York to commemorate the anniversary:

That’s basically a sacrilege as I see it, whereby the Gemini rippers convert bitcoin origins into hypewave bubble NFTs.
Recently I bought 2 books related to Bitcoin, the Internet of Money Vol 3 and "Bitcoin Billionaires" and I have started reading the latter. It literally spills more light on the early years of the twins after the Facebook case but it seems like the twins had strong interest in Bitcoin as soon as they have heard it for the first time. But at the same time, I have been too much into the NFT space since the early Feb of this year and think they would co-exist as how altcoins existed after the 2017 ICO mania.

Alternative chains like Ethereum and XMR solved various real world problems through the use of blockchain technology established by Bitcoin in general. Similarly quite a few NFTs like Decentraland which are being built on top of ETH might be able to provide an answer to the upcoming VR verse as shown in various movies like Ready Player One or The Matrix!

Even though Bitcoin has faced various hurdles from the scammers like Craig or manipulators like Roger Ver in the long 13 yr old journey it was able to reach the whooping trillion dollar marketcap. BTW, have we found the pre-whitepaper draft "ecash.pdf" or still they are being hunted for in the wild?  Huh

It's important to say for any newbies that Bitcoin whitepaper was originally released under the open source MIT License, so any group or individual that claims copyright ownership or restriction is a fraud and a liar.

I am not superstition but it's nice to have 13th birthday of whitepaper and Halloween in the same day  Cheesy
Anthony Pompliano is celebrating this birthday with his pizza project to help fund Bitcoin developers, and everybody likes a good pizza:

Thanks for the heads up - I hadn’t seen it ! Seems like everyone is jumping on the NFT bandwagon  : But tbh - promotion is promotion - and if it increases Bitcoin adoption  Smiley

Winklevoss-Led Gemini Behind Bitcoin White Paper Excerpts on NYC Billboard.

Basically, what they’ve done is divide the Abstract into 105 words or small groups of words, and display those alternately (not sequentially) on a well visible electronic billboard in NYC. So far, that would seem weird enough, buy then these words are auctioned (ending today) as … yikes …  NTFs (ffs) -> https[colon]//nftbillboard[dot]nyc/ …

Some of the words are repeated in the auction, because the figure multiple times in the Abstract, although a couple are not in the Abstract, but are in the auction:

Benefits (#30,#82)
Signatures (#84, #90)

That’s basically a sacrilege as I see it, whereby the Gemini rippers convert bitcoin origins into hypewave bubble NFTs.

I always wonder how many “Bitcoiners” have actually read it ?
Page 9 (references) is a rabbit hole for anyone to fall into too  Smiley

The answer is "far too few".
I think that people somehow think of it as difficult and overly technical and they're afraid to read it. I think that some may also think it's long. And yeah, people are lazy, me included.
I've got to actually read the whitepaper only at the point I was asked to proofread the translation of it. So, a bit late, but I've read it.

Happy 13th Birthday  Smiley Thankyou Satoshi

Indeed, Happy Birthday and a big Thank you!

Development of bitcoin
  • Nakamoto stated that work on the writing of the code for bitcoin began in 2007.
  • On 18 August 2008, he or a colleague registered the domain name bitcoin.org, and created a web site at that address.
  • On 31 October, Nakamoto published a white paper on the cryptography mailing list at metzdowd.com describing a digital cryptocurrency, titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System".

People talked about Bitcoin every day, so much more than they did years ago but many of them don't know this day is the publishing day of Bitcoin's Whitepaper or they forget it.

Thanks for your reminder  Wink
