The historical topic on bitcoin is basic but important for crypto newcomers, like me. I appreciated yazher's time to make the thread. Reading it contains lot of time, but honestly it is worthy  my reading time because after reading it I have more comprehensive understanding on history of bitcoin.

Looks to me like he put a lot of work in.  I enjoyed reading through much of it.

Copy pasting everything from http://historyofbitcoin.org/ is definitely a lot of work! Why people give merit to copy-paste topics like this confuses me.

Great work, is the website link you provided on 'history of bitcoin' a website you host too?

You could make it ongoing with a new thread 2014 to present.

I want to, but I cannot do it this time because I will become busy these coming days.
Come on now. You can't because historyofbitcoin.org only has information up to exactly the date in your topic.

P.S.: Are we allowed to translate this in our local language and publish in our local section with a link referring to the original content here?

you have my permission but make sure to put the original source that I posted below the OP and also add my link in the description if possible.

How and where did you manage to gather all such data? I know that hard work pays off, but this one's a lot of smart work done here with each and every single thing detailed to us showing what Bitcoin used to be as an infant and what it is presently - a beast.
Most are them written on the source provided by OP but he added some details to make it better.

I guess that's alright, everyone does this, however just wait until op's confirmation.

Thanks for that, I only translate the introduction cause I thought leaving the original text will preserve the original history of bitcoin, most of my fellow countrymen don't come to this section so I thought of posting it there so they will learn the history. I think I delete the one I posted on Local Board to avoid some bad consequences and let my Fellow countrymen visit this section.
You are welcome, fella. I simply warned you that you should take care of yourself. Sometimes, we started with good purposes for forum members (locals in your case), but sometimes it turns into bad one (unexpected, unknown forum rule violations). I have seen some Legendary accounts get banned due to their past unintentionally mistakes (like Limx Dev), so we should be careful ourselves. Fortunately, Limx Dev unbanned, but I am not sure that we will have luck like this. Even we have chances like Limx Dev, we will obviously have to experience very tough period before our cases solved. Prevention is better.

You made a very good thread, honestly. However, I saw you also made another thread in your local board, and you only translate a few first lines of the thread into Filipino language; the rest part (most of the thread) has not been translated.
I doubt that you likely violate forum rule. This one:
Quote
12. No duplicate posting in multiple boards (except for re-posting it in the local language boards if it's translated).
So, to avoid this, I suggest you to do something:
- Leaving a note that it has been under-translation
- Lock your topic in local board.
- Translate all contents into your local language
- Unlock it only when you finish your translation.

You have been very close to your next rank, so please be careful.
Best,

Completely coincidentally, 40 minutes later in OgNasty's "Merit giveaway for forum contributions!" thread...

Looks to me like he put a lot of work in.  I enjoyed reading through much of it.

It is a good read, both in the original version and his edited one. If anyone thinks reformatted copypasta is worth merits, go for it.

.... It's nearly 3 hours of work and no one seems to enjoy reading it except you. I thought I need to make an effort for the topic to look good but ended up being criticized by others. but I still don't mine as long as I share some knowledge for the newbies, I can take any insult with me and I know people have different attitude some are nice and some are not. for as long as I know there is nothing wrong with what I am doing, I will continue sharing.

Don't be so sensitive.
I appreciate it must be difficult for non English speakers to "rank up", as you put it, just wondering whether wholesale copypasta (reformatted or not) is the way forward?

Only if this had 161 sources to go with it, with links. Maybe if all the pictures where relevant to the post but that would be hard, I think without the pictures would be way more mobile friendly too

It came from one source as stated on the bottom post of OP, OP copy pasted it just from this single source

I appreciate the effort but no offense for OP, yeah he just copied everything in the site.
I really thought this is his original concept, like spending 3 hours of editing but in the end it made no difference from the link itself. It's just that you made it in a thread view.

Great work, is the website link you provided on 'history of bitcoin' a website you host too?

Sorry but he can't make it.

OP don't get us wrong but I know you knew this in the first place.

I propose @OP to add the topic: Bitcoin Prehistory, then someone who have spare time and big love in cryptography & blockchain can read both two topics and have better overview on history of cryptography and bitcoin.
