Last option is to play in a sportbook which accept altcoins as they have very fast confirmation times.

That's correct, OP should convert his BTC to ETH if he wants to enjoy a minimal fee, that'st he only way as transaction fee for bitcoin today needs to be higher for fast confirmation. Sportsbet is not charging fee for withdrawal and that's the benefit for using the site.

Or....

Send your entire bankroll so you don't have to send every time, like I said withdrawal is free, so you'll enjoy it.  Grin

Yes, that is why I always do that because eth is always minimal fee so, try also witdraw using eth. because btc now high fee because of btc price.

Transcation fee are not really a bad thing as some users portray it to be take for example the banking system transcation fees are still collected when sending money. I would prefer a transcation fee to having to wait due to delayed transcation which can last for a long time.
But what I really do not like with some site is that there are minimum amount that can be sent this can really be frustrating at times

If it's from a wallet (that you control) it will always cost more because converting altcoins have more steps compared to a transaction sent straight to a gambling site  For example you used a recommended fee which is like BTC.0001 for the deposit then the traders fee that costs maybe 1k satoshi or more depending on the amount traded and lastly you have the withdrawal fee that ranges between 0.01 -0.04 ETH. Even though we'll save some withdrawal fees from gambling sites, the initial fees from trading offsets the future saved fees.

OK thanks, I'll check which will cost me more, sending from Electrum or buying straight from our local exchange.

You will still incure some fees when exchanging your coins on an exchanger or in a wallet  . why can you just buy eth directly or other cheap altcoins better than btc and eth ?  Doge coin , litecoin , xrp are good alternatives to them and you can then send these coins directly into a gambling site . nowadays alot of online gambling sites are now accepting altcoins and tokens not just sportbook/sportsbet sites

It was only recently that our local exchange (meaning the one where I can buy using fiat) only added some alts like ETH and XRP. Since I haven't played in a casino for some time, I've only experienced buying BTC, sending it to an exchange, then converting to some alt. (This exchange have limited alt selection)

Would this be cheaper, converting the BTC to ETH first before sending to the casino site? I suppose if I already have some BTC lying around in an exchange it wouldn't cost much but what if I'll have to send it from my Electrum wallet?

Exactly , i use Bitstamp too and they have no fees for withdraws from there ! Bitcoin Cash , Ethereum , Litecoin , Ripple (XRP) , Bitcoin are free for Bitstamp Users !
And when you making an withdarw it dosnt take much long to get your coins to your address you have done the withdraw!
I dont know how they doing that but it works very well and that the last few years . I dont know how it is if you send more as 1 Bitcoin because in the past it was free to up to 1 Bitcoin !

You can look if you want or get you some more Information about that here at there website https://www.bitstamp.net/fee-schedule/.

Still too expensive to send some BTC to my favorite casino for some slots action  Undecided
I think the positive way to look at times like these are we are less likely to lose the money we arent gambling with  Tongue
But regardless these high fees will not last forever and I agree that paying 15€ to send Bitcoin is too much

Yeah, send the entire bankroll so you can lose everything quicker  Grin Grin . Because that's usually what happens when you deposit all your bankroll on one single gambling website. You start gambling more and more because you think you have enough balance and even if you lose some bets you will still have a lot. At the end you just realize almost all your balance is gone   Huh

Some sites allow you to choose the way how your coins are going to be sent (very fast - fast - medium - ...). Usually, if you choose the lowest value possible you pay next to no fees, but you have to wait for a few days til your coins arive. Dont know if this is possible at the site you are talking about?

But even if we choose very fast when the network is too busy with a large transaction which needs to confirm, our transaction will get delay too, and that will make us wait for a while. I still prefer to deposit and withdraw using altcoin because it is fast for me and I don't have to wait for a long time like what I did with bitcoin. I think deposit with altcoin, especially dogecoin or litecoin, will take a less fee than bitcoin.

During this periods, when the network is very loaded with unconfirmed transactions best thing you can do is either to not make transactions on bitcoin and use another crypto instead like ethereum that is accepted by most sports betting websites and it doesn't have a problem with fees and confirmation. It's not going to help you if your deposit will be instantly be added into your account because you cannot make a withdrawal until your transaction is confirmed.

We should check some websites which tell us the recommended fee to send an broadcast a transaction in a normal timeframe.

There are also some websites which offer free acceleration of transactions but you need luck and good timing with them.

That is why I sometimes prefer using gambling sites with altcoin options. Bitcoin network is sometimed congested and the fees can be high depending on btc price. I tried withdrawing my funds and it took me few days to receive my money.

If high fees are your concern there are many altcoins you can choose from that have much lower fees and can do more transactions per second.  Most big casinos and sportsbook accept altcoins so you should have no problem doing so.

Yes of course most of the time gambling sites do not make any deduction when it comes to transferring funds. Ot is the confirmation the one who mines btc that will take fee from every transaction. If you know how to send btc in that can sace you from.transaction.fee then that would be better. You can do a research on how to save bitcoin transaction fee when transferring funds.

But OP, it is not the transaction fee that matter when you gamble instead it is the platform itself.

Too expensive to send my money so only interested in zero confirmation sportsbooks that allow deposits of 1 Satoshis/vbyte.
Sportsbet is the only one I know but sometimes I have to wait 2-3 days to withdraw which in fine since its better then paying 208 Satoshis/vbyte | 0.00208 BTC/KvB.
Are there any others please post in this thread and thank you!

the fees are crazy right now , paying atleast 5 dollar each transaction. and its way to high.

The situation with fees is indeed pressing now, and I think if you want to gamble small, it's best to wait it out or to try a casino that accepts Lightning transactions. I've seen some casinos that are LN-friendly, but not sportsbooks. After doing some online research I only found the following website: https://microbet.fun/. While it seems like it's sports bets via LN, I am not sure how trustworthy or even active at all this website currently is. Oh, by the way, since Bitcoin fees are high, why not just use another crypto like Ethereum for a while? I think most of the major casinos and sportsbooks accept it, and the current fees seem great: https://bitinfocharts.com/ethereum/. This way you won't have to deal with trust issues, resulting from betting on unpopular websites as well as avoid the crazy fees.
