Mine at Jonny's Pool
Well, it's not decentralised when you centralise a bunch of users onto one p2pool node ...
Coincadence has about 40 TH/s. That's not exactly what I'd call centralized. Maybe neighborhood-ized?
Highlighted so you might read it again Smiley
People are going to mine on others' nodes.  For example, I don't advertise my node at all, yet I've regularly got a few people mining on it besides myself.  Windpath has done a bunch of work and is very active here in the p2pool community, so it's natural that people would mine on his node.

There certainly are plenty of nodes out there, with plenty of people mining on them.  There are also a few nodes that are popular, like windpath's and OgNasty's, that get the extra traffic.  In an ideal world, sure, everyone would be running their own node.  Until then, I think we can all safely say that p2pool is definitely the most decentralized bitcoin mining pool out there. Smiley
...
It's the only one Smiley

Any other pool that says it is ... is lying.
As is a certain case well known.

I was referring to the mistake of confusing the two terms.
When you get a bunch of people all mining together on one node, it's centralised ... even if p2pool itself is decentralised by design.
Fair enough... and that certain pool's false claim of decentralization is definitely well known Tongue.

Edit:

Oh, the upgrade to 14.0 took all of about 30 seconds, windpath Smiley.  You should have plenty of time while the kids are napping.

Forrest, thank you!

CoinCadence will be upgrading on Monday, one of the best features of p2pool is it's decentralization, if you are mining on the minefast.coincadence.com node please be sure to set your backup nodes to another reliable p2pool node, while I hope the upgrade goes smoothly, I will likely mess something up for an hour or so Wink be sure to take advantage of our decentralized nature and have good p2pool backup nodes set in your miners....

The decentralised side of p2pool is everyone running their own p2pool, not lots of people mining on one p2pool.

I've just updated http://toom.im's two nodes, http://74.82.233.205:9334 and http://74.82.233.205:9332. Together, these two nodes provide about 400 TH/s to p2pool, or about 20% of p2pool's total hashrate.

If you need to set backup or replacement nodes during the upgrades, you are welcome to use ours.

CoinCadence will be upgrading on Monday

Monday is likely too late. I'm sorry about providing this update with so little time to spare; it really is very urgent. If all goes according to the plan, anyone upgrading on Monday or later will be on the unupgraded side of the hardfork doing useless (unpaid) work.

CoinCadence has a substantial proportion of the P2Pool hashrate. Upgrading now or soon would help everyone.

While very short notice, still very much appreciate the update!

Nap time for the kids is around 2 PM EDT Saturday, if everything goes well by the time they wake up we will be upgraded and running smoothly.

Note: if your mining on my node, please set good p2pool backups, just in case Wink

Again, thanks Forrest!

Mine Mine Mine
i'm seeing this, lots of blanks, the blank space are normally where it says new work for worker ! diff xxx share diff xxx & block value but in my case only 1 worker shows up n the rest are blank. getting shares though.

i have several workers at same & other add's but they are at different worker diff's which i normally see.

That should be normal. The patch accepted from midnightmagic throttles the prints from different workers. I'm not sure why it's printing blanks, though - I'll look into it.

thx again, awaiting update. will be running it till an update. so far it's looking normal besides the blanks.
