I have been researching on bitcoin for a few months now and by researching I meant like the purpose of bitcoin and I see how it is so much better than fiat(cash) . The only thing that can stop bitcoin is probably the government. After understanding the purpose of bitcoin it gave me more confidence on buying it and not seeing it as a 'investment' but more of a freedom digital currency.
You didn't do your research well on the aspect of government is probably the one that can stop bitcoin. The government has failed so many times as they try to do that. Some who have tried to stop bitcoin in the past, have given up on it and they are legalizing bitcoin in their country so that their citizens would align with the financial freedom bitcoin brings.

I am gonna start deciding to sell it at end of 2024 , but I guess i could wait till end of 2025.
You are free to sell your bitcoin whenever you choose, but you should at least have a predetermined price you desire to sell your bitcoin since you have 1 bitcoin already. Given the impending bull run, 2024 or 2025 is a favorable opportunity to sell your bitcoin.

Why should you target selling your Bitcoin at the end of 2024 or the end of 2025, then what if at that time the price of bitcoin is in a Bearish phase. Start setting targets at a price benchmark not based on time, when the price reaches the desired number, you can sell it even though your investment is still very young.

At the age of 18, you don't have many dependents that you need to bear, you only need to finance your personal needs as a bachelor, you can save the rest in Bitcoin. The research you have done on Bitcoin has shaped your character to believe more in Bitcoin than Fiat Money, I like the conclusions you draw. Continue to increase the amount of your investment instead of keeping fiat money in the form of savings, you can get big profits when the price has broken the ATH that was achieved before.

has become a rich man's talent since he was young, I remember myself at the age of 18, who could only go to school and ask his parents for pocket money, I salute you, you are still young but already have a pension from investing in bitcoin. to be the right path in investing, imagine 20 years from now when you are already 38 years old, of course, financial life is guaranteed from now on. not to mention if you start starting a business and make a frozen investment in bitcoin, of course you have to feel lucky and grateful

All countries around the world are facing the inflation problem, actually, you are envious because at the age you have now, if I look at it, at that young age you have a bitcoin that you are ready to hold until the bull run comes . And I admire the height of your belief in Bitcoin.
I can't afford to buy bitcoin at its present value because it is quite expensive.

Then the rise of Bitcoin towards 100k$ more than that cannot be stopped by any country's government. Although it is still a speculation that most bitcoin believers believe.

Well, it's pretty good to have a few bitcoins before the halving, and it might be great if you're waiting for the effects of the halving to happen before selling the bitcoins you own.
Actually, what you're doing is a very good investment. it's just that, you shouldn't rely solely on this to get out of the crisis you're in if you feel that the crisis is heavy enough. besides, you might be able to increase your assets by collecting them bit by bit without looking at them. maybe 2025 is a good idea to sell your assets. we are all very optimistic about the future price of bitcoin. However, you need to prepare for the worst case scenario.

I do find myself rather left out sometimes .. I
never interested into getting into a relationship
never partied before
never smoked
never had a sip of alcohol
don't really spend money . ( Took me 2 years to deciding to buy a PS5 as a treat)

I don't know how to really describe this but teenagers around my age these days are really questionable.

also ,

I did not expect to get so many support from the bitcoin community , i would like to thank you guys.
I got my bitcoin in my cold storage(trezor) . I hope school keeps me busy enough to not think about bitcoin so i can HODL longer haha. Good luck to everyone and continue to HODL !! it will be worth it Smiley
You are different, for sure, because people your age don't really get involved with things like these, and you have already accumulated 1 Bitcoin and have some liquid cash as well, and you are also thinking of doing a job only so that you can get more money to buy more Bitcoin, that is definitely not what an 18-year-old would do, people your age would simply study and do things to enjoy this age while they can because once you get old, things don't stay the same anymore.

However, you are definitely going to have a bright future because you already know how to manage your finances and stuff and if you can continue doing this, I'm pretty sure that you are going to have a lot of wealth in the future and I'm pretty sure that you are going to use that wealth in very good things.

Selling your bitcoin at the bull market and buying bitcoin again on a bear market and repeating it for many time seams an easy trick to make a lot of profit since it's the time that you are challenging but yeah it's hard to be patient for years. Imagine those people who did this kind of holding strategy on the past market cycle, I'm sure they are millionaires right now.

2024/2025 is the anticipated year of cryptocurrency bull run and bitcoin is the most anticipated coin that will rise. I think if we achieved a greater price feat on bitcoin, the adoption will be much faster than past years. We have saw a increase of bitcoin payment acceptance last bull market and I personally expect that it can rise again.
It worries me how many people expect Bitcoin to rise during this period, because often the market moves contrary to what most people expect.

And also I am of the opinion that the more expensive bitcoin becomes, the longer the cycles will become, which means that after this bull market, the subsequent bear market can last much longer than we are used to it, and this will not allow us to repeat the same things in the future, action with selling in a bull market and buying in a bear market, as often as it used to be. These are just speculations that I've seen here on the forum, but it seems to me that it may be true.

Just continue your hustle and never touch that 1 bitcoin of yours as much as you can, accumulating more would even be better. You're still young and still have a long way to go. Just don't get blinded if someone invites you to an investment scheme that is too good to be true. And also avoid getting addicted to gambling. If you have time to research, try investing to other cryptocurrencies such as ETH or BNB.

First of all you can't say that at the end of 2024 you can sell your Bitcoin,  are you sure that it's up to 100k$ per Bitcoin at that time?  What if end of 2024 Bitcoin remain at 30k$ only in the market? Will you sell it?

Of course you will be waiting for a few months, years depending on its price, because we know Bitcoin's price value is volatile, and no one really knows what will happen in 2024. Though many are expecting high on this particular only be 100k $ each of Bitcoin's but it is still a prediction to this day.

Yes. BTC in early August turned bearish, dropping below US$29,000. However, I think it can also reverse course and regain the psychological level of US$ 32,000, provided there is fundamentally positive news that is happening in the crypto industry and the global economy and sentiment that market participants should be concerned about for the month of August, one of which is regarding the fate of ETF application submissions. Spot bitcoins. The SEC has until August 12 and 13 to approve, reject, or suspend Bitcoin ETFs by BlackRock, 21Shares and Ark Invest.

Since you have decided to sell your investment at the end of 2024, you grow for a few more days and then you sell your investment. You can hold on to your investment until mid-2025, as there is likely to be a substantial increase in the value of Bitcoin between late 2023 and 2024 and 2025. The amount you are willing to invest at the moment, later you will only think about increasing your investment how to increase your investment, if you think about this regularly, you will be able to hold your investment for a long time and also increase your investment amount. Holding the investment for long period is always positive because holding for long period increases the probability of profit several times.

If you are going to sell your bitcoin in 2024 or 2025, do you have a further plan of action, what will you do with the cash that you receive when you sell bitcoin, because it will also be subject to inflation.

But in general, your plan is good, owning 1 bitcoin in your student years is an excellent result.

If Bitcoin serves as a currency, why not employ it to purchase goods and relish the resulting acquisitions? After all, the true essence of currency lies in its usage for transactions, akin to employing FIAT to buy food, soda, coffee, clothing, and other sundries. Engaging in selling with hopes of post-halving profits essentially mirrors the essence of investment.

As for governmental remarks, it appears that they cannot outright halt Bitcoin's existence, merely impede its velocity to some extent.
Thant's right, it's worth doing, but only when bitcoin is in a bull market, when it has been able to reach the new ATH, then you can pay for everything you need with bitcoin, if you have such an opportunity. But while the bear market lasts, it is better to take care to buy as much bitcoin as possible so that our investments will bring us profit in the future.

You're on a good track, the strategy should work out fruitfully for you. As long as you ensure that you won't have to sell even 1-2 years post-halving, you should do well. At least, I think so...I'm doing something similar so hopefully it works out for us Cheesy

I have been researching on bitcoin for a few months now and by researching I meant like the purpose of bitcoin and I see how it is so much better than fiat(cash) . As other have said, even government can't stop Bitcoin. They can hinder it with regulations, propaganda, and spreading fear/uncertainty/doubt through media and laws, though ultimately Bitcoin has been built in a way where an individual can safely ignore all of that crap and still use Bitcoin with no problems if they are clever enough.

If you guys have any tips , do let me know ... I would be very grateful for it.

I would prepare to hold for longer than 2024, expect to hold until end of 2025. Bull cycles historically have started 6~ months after the halving and have continued with high volatility for 2-2.5~ years post-halving. If Bitcoin doesn't save us from inflation, honestly, I don't know what will.

I am gonna start deciding to sell it at end of 2024 , but I guess i could wait till end of 2025.

Hopefully bitcoin can save me from this crazy inflation and break me out of this financial crisis.
If you guys have any tips , do let me know ... I would be very grateful for it.

- Use decentralized and/or peer to peer services for your transactions
- Keep your identity to yourself, avoid KYC when you can.
- Ensure that your storage solution is secure, as well as your system. Using cold storage is best, though if your storage is only as secure as your system.

Good job so far and good luck in the future!

This. Keep seeing people out here telling OP to hold on for dear life but are not really aware of a person's capacity to hold their bags. As for someone like him saving his ass during bear market seasons is just as important as actually holding his bag. Doesn't have to always apply to taking profits, it's more important when you're looking at a loss. And in that regard OP should look into learning about how the market works, and how charts are being read so he could study the market and devise good predictions that will help him get by.
That's cause they want OP to be on the same team as them, the diamond hands that will only sell their bitcoin for an unspecified and unknown (even to them) price which will only get higher and higher as the ATH keeps getting higher, they want OP to be like them, who wants to sell beyond what the current ATH would be which won't ever be reached. I would agree with you on OP learning the basics but I think he's still got a lot of time in his hands that's better off spent on living rather than be obsessed with bitcoin. OP should just learn about supply and demand model and I think he's good to go.

The best thing you could do with that is to forget it for at least a decade. Focus on your study and graduate. Find a good job and a steady income so you don't have to touch your BTC. Accumulate more if you can. Even in bull markets I always regret selling my coins.

that is a very good plan, but as someone who experienced in bitcoin investment I suggest you to not sell it in one time. For me it is possible to predict when the bullish market come but I think it is still very hard to predict the peak of it, so to maximize the profit maybe you can gradually sell it when you think the price is the peak of the bullish market. at that time usually there are many people spread FUD so you have to stick to your plan. don't looking for news in social media such as instagram, youtube, twitter and etc. only trust news in this forum because there are many legendary member and other experienced member who control or validate it. people in those social media only looking for engagement and follower, they don't really care about you.

Don't marry the bag, sell it when you know that you've multiplied your profit to a staggering percentage, you will always be able to get back to bitcoin even if you sell your bitcoin because the price will eventually correct itself so just keep a watch on what's happening on the market and the price of bitcoin so you know what to do next. If you're unfamiliar with the saying that I've said, I'm basically telling you to sell your bitcoin when the price is pumping and the sentiment of the market is that it's nearing the peak, aim for that peak when you sell.
This. Keep seeing people out here telling OP to hold on for dear life but are not really aware of a person's capacity to hold their bags. Most of all OP, take it easy. Most of us here lost more than what we could've assumed and if not for us staying strong in mind we wouldn't be here anymore, tanking a loss is pretty nasty, but not coming back from it is even more. Don't beat yourself up and quit after your first loss, carry on and learn to be a better investor!
