I ignored Pcie 16x too, only worked with pcie 1x with 13 cards, and all works perfect.

How many PSU do you use?

I use 1 EVGA 1300W and 1 paraller miner PSU 2400W

1 x 1200W Corsair HX1200, easily big enough for 4-5 cards. Issue occurs even with just 1 card in the PCIe 16x

Btw, as one of my friend reported, the window 10 newest version 1709 could handle for 16 mining cards P106-100 in MB B250, it's quite interesting.

Yes sold off 4 AMD's 7990, got instead mining contracts in China and have since also purchased some Baikal miners.
Baikal is pretty much plug and play. The GPU's where a real pain, too much heat, enormous power consumption, noisy. It just wasn't worth it.

Selling the GPU's was super easy, I just slapped them on a local second hand app thing in Spain, they got bought up by gamers in less than 2 weeks.

I think it was the best decision back then, plus I'm super happy with the baikals I got, no hassle what so ever with them. Obviously stuck doing x11-x14, Quibit and Quark but that's why I got ETH & ZEC contracts in China.

What I do regret is paying for the mining contracts with BTC..... Grrrrr 6k ATH and looks like we might hit 10k by Xmas.

Is it really worth it going for GPU's to mine, wouldnt a Baikal be better and cheaper or the new antminer x11?

Somebody tested this MB with window 10, and it could recognize 16 GPUs P106-100 and achieved very good hashrate at 25Mh/s.

No word on price? Anyone thinking about it should keep in mind that there is at least the cost of the GPU’s and that is more than the average consumer can afford. I would like a price for the motherboard when it is available, because this could be a nice way that a new miner gets started. Rather than buy a rig and trash it a month later for a brand new better rig, this could allow them to add cards over time.

M.2 SATA might make some sense - if there was any space on the board to PUT it.

M.2 NVMe would eat 4 PCI-E lanes you really prefer to use for GPU slots, and is severe overkill for a mining rig.

I DO wish they had arranged the board so that the 16-bit slot doesn't BLOCK 3 of the 1x slots if you put a standard dual-width GPU IN the slot though.
On the other hand, it kinda makes PS management a bit easier to not have 7 GPUs AND the MB/RAM/CPU on one PS and only 6 on each of the others....
