spot/melt price on 1 gram of silver is about $1 US - a little more.

.420 x 4.85 (current market) = $2.037

The last bid was ~200% market value.  Huh

Spot/melt price on the computer you're reading this on is probably less than $10.  Since I'm feeling generous, I will offer 3 BTC for your computer.  Let me know if we have a deal.

Now that the auction has ended, I'd like to apologise:

1. for interrupting the auction with nonsense that wasn't a bid.
2. questioning the auction's value in fiat, not bitcoin.

I should've known better on both accounts. I feel ashamed of myself. Everyone should look at what I did as an example of what not to do in an auction thread. Just saying...  Grin

Congrats to the winner!

Etching a solid value on two highly volatile markets does not work.

1 BTC ≠ $4.85

1g Silver ≠ $1.30

Hydro included in rent = FREE
Hacking neighbourhood Wireless = FREE
Clicking a few clicks, typing 4.20 = FREE

Having silver actually arrive from hundreds of miles away to my door and NOT having to pay with VISA = Priceless

I get it. I was just pointing out where we were in the auction already. Comparing the cost of one item in one currency to its value in another doesn't prove or disprove its value, either.

Local shipping was included with bids. I figured 0.2 for the coin, 0.2 for shipping.. good deal, throw in 0.02 cause im high and excited to win my first silver gram.. sweeet

@ thejoint, 300-400% resale value nice, but im looking to collect for awhile

I say 300-400% because of the minting costs of producing such a small coin.  Check ebay out and see what 1g pieces are going for (I'm seeing between $2-$5 depending on the shipping).

And good luck, if I don't outbid you   Grin

You could probably resell a 1g silver round (especially in mint condition) for 300-400%
