Yes the LEALANA XMR DIY coin would have been accepted as a LEALANA coin submission.

*sigh* I've also thought that the submission period was made a bit longer; I was ready to post my entry, since I had no time before Christmas.

Although I guess that it won't be taken into account, since my Mixed Collectibles decoration is now done and captured, I'll post it, at least for the fun of it.
Just beware, the naughty elves have broken in, smashed the piggy bank and also started playing with the presents Santa has prepared.

I have a question too: would have been this beautiful DYI XMR coin counted as LEALANA or not?

i thought all submissions had to be in by the 25th? I read it as the voting start point was being moved - not the submission deadline

I noticed the inclusion of the Lealana coin. I'm not sure if it's required, but since I didn't have any, I decided to make something with Photoshop. As you can see, my Photoshop design skills are pitiful, but it's better to try than not to try at all. So here is my entry:

Unfortunately, I couldn't participate in this event as I don't own any LEALANA and displaying other's artworks for an art contest isn't an ideal situation for me.
I can't speak for others but eliminating physical crypto requirements would ensure my participation for the 2nd annual Bitcointalk X-MAS Decoration Contest.

As mentioned, here is my (family's) entry for the contest.   First off, here is the background info:

I sent 2 of your coins as presents to my nephews along with some other Bitcoin memorabilia.  When I heard about the contest, I presented a challenge to my family.   My Mother is quite the artist and I gave her the idea, a Fiat Christmas vs. a  Bitcoin Christmas!   She drew the portraits using pastels, and then my nephews took it from there illustrating the difference!

I decided to make a homemade snowglobe, all of this was from miscellaneous Christmas bits from around my house except the snowglobe itself I had to buy from a craft store because I didn't have a mason jar. Enjoy!

2nd entry for this contest

As lealana coins are Hawaiian themed, I decided to make a tiki bobble head that would hold a lealana coin under its hat. This is 3d printed - the bobble head was done with a wood filament - wouldn't be tiki if it was not wood right? The hat is just regular PLA

The coin fits under the hat when the hat is on the tiki bobble head - and the hat fits tight enough that you can pick the whole thing up by the hat.

Sounds like a pita ofc, but I'm down for that, it does make sense. I think the end would be much clearer/cleaner too.

I just going to come out and say it. Regarding picking the winner. I think you should pick the winner. I felt that possibly the polling was skewed during the pumpkin carve. Since people are coming from outside of our community I felt like they may have campaigned for votes from their people on their page. Not calling anyone a cheater but a popularity contest isn't what were going for. Its your contest and your prizes. I say you pick what you like.

I'm considering doing a sort of tier system where the amount of entrants will determine the amount of prizes that I will be putting up and how many places (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc) will exist for the winners of both contests.


Proposed tier system:

0-30 entrants = 1st place only prizes

31-60 entrants = 1st and 2nd place prizes

61-90 entrants = 1st, 2nd, 3rd place prices

91+ entrants = GRAND PRIZE across both contests (most votes cumulative between the two contests for two uniquely different entries by a single party) and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th place prizes


This GRAND PRIZE will have a higher value than both 1st place prizes combined.

Note - I will not say what the additional prizes are yet until we hit the entrant threshold of participants assuming I go this path.

Seem like I don't similar to creating a theme for Xmas, and don't have also Physical coin that I can't show it in the contest, but if the theme still accepting when the user doesn't proot it, I will try it when having leisure time.

this is just a suggestion because the new year is very close to Xmas, maybe better to put it together with the new year event also.

Smoothie, one question.  I am giving one of your coins as a gift to my Nephews for Christmas.  My Mom is quite the artist, can I submit something she does with it into the contest?   The goal was to get the younger generation into your collectibles, I am hoping this would be an acceptable entry since it is a family member of mine producing it.

First Annual Bitcointalk Physical Cryptocurrency Christmas Themed Decoration/Art Contest


Christmas Themed Physical Cryptocurrency Decoration contest.

Contest #1 - LEALANA physical coin Christmas Themed Decoration contest.


Contest #2 - General physical cryptocurrency coin Christmas Themed Decoration contest. (Any brand/maker/year/coin/card/etc.)



Rules -

1. Your creation must include a LEALANA physical coin (any type/style/year) for contest #1. For contest #2 you may use any physical cryptocurrency coin brand/make/type.

2. There will only be one entry per person per contest (but this can include a bulk of items together (i.e. a 3 coin set with a drawing next to it, for example).  If you enter both contests each entry must be a uniquely different submission. The design/art has to be much different than the other.

3. Valid entries will be considered only if it is original work. Please include the current date and your username in the picture otherwise it will not be a valid entry into the contest.

4. Entries must be received by 11:59PM EST December 25th, 2022 to be included in the final polling.

5. You can enter both contests but you will have to have a noticeably different coin type and Christmas decoration theme to enter both. Different coin, art style, setup, etc.

6. PRO TIP: Please consider blurring out the first bits of your coins if you have an issue of privacy and public knowing what coin address/addresses you have on your physical crypto.

7. VIDEO - If you would like to create a video and upload the link with a nice screenshot of the creation that would be acceptable. Video visuals may be interesting especially if you can't see all the details from one angle. Just putting it out there!


General Design Suggestions:
You are encouraged to make a X-mas themed decoration, scene, 2D art, 3D art, full size christmas tree decoration, snowman, xmas lights etc. Feel free to be creative with the christmas decoration. But remember...you have to include nicely visible picture of physical cryptocurrency coin or multiple coins in the display.

Please try your best to be creative with cryptocurrency and Christmas theme in mind. Feel free to use COAs, capsules, redeemed coins, unredeemed coins, graded coins, etc.



All entrants are welcome, even if you don’t celebrate Christmas or the holidays. All are welcome.
