hello
I buy 2x antminer s1 and would to connect to 1 PSU.
I found that PSU

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-STORM-SILENT-800W-POWER-SUPPLY-12V-DUAL-RAIL-32-AMP-SATA-MOLEX-120MM-FAN-/261384985436?pt=UK_Computing_PowerSupplies_EH&hash=item3cdbc25b5c

please told me , this is good or not? I can connect 2x antminer s1 to this PSU?

p.s. sorry for my english.

I use DPS-800GBA server supplies from HP they are cheaper and high quality they run two Ants over clocked no problem at least as good as a Corsair and half the price.

I didn't want to start a new topic since I had a question so related:

I have this power supply, it is brand new. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007WLRJCC/

Will it be fine for powering 2 Antminer S1's without any problems? Its a single rail and 1000w. Its not the most efficient rated PSU, but any other issues? Thanks for any advice!

Blew up on me...with 2 OC Ants...in 2 days...piece of sh.t... Smiley
I had a coolmax Zu-900B.  I had two NON-OC Ants on it and it blew.  Coolmax does suck.  RMA in process now.  Was bought in Feb.

It did not damage the Ants.

Coolmax Zeus 900...or 1000W...Cheap Chinese piece of crap...DON"T buy them...

Why is single rail preferred? Can anyone explain in detail? Most 500-650W PSU's are dual rail.
Two rails mean that each one only can provide half of the PSU's total power.  Good chance you'll overload it just putting a normal size load on it from miners, as all the PCI-e connectors would only have half of the total wattage to use.

It is quite cheaper to build multi rail jobbers, as the transformer and voltage regulation can use much less Robust (less expensive) parts.
Just in weight a good P/S will have about 5lbs of copper in it.

And make sure the P/S has 4 PCIE cables off that rail, 1 cable to each ant... Not one cable with jumper splice end.

+1 this! Make sure the PCIE connections run off separate cables. Some PSU's will state 4 x PCIE but it will be 2 cables with a splitter on each end such as the Corsair RM850 (which states 6 x PCIE but really its only got 3 cables)

I've been using 2 of these to run 4 Ants for the past month and so far so good... can't complain for £120....

Yes, 100a single rail, you only need 90+a so it is below maxed out and may last awhile if you keep it cool.
8pcie leads is good, that is what we use for quad sli for game dev, however I demand Corsair...

XFX would not honor a warranty on a MB that was only a month out of date.
EVGA MSI GigaByte ASrock all have had no issues with me usually sending a newer board if the old one I have is no longer available.
I will never forget that, and refuse to own XFX because of it. XFX support was impersonal, and could give a damn atti-dude.

for 2 overclocked   these die

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009LHF5GM/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=1535523722&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B009LHF4WM&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=03X8VDB99ZK08SRZ94TY

this works

http://www.amazon.com/Enermax-Revolution87-Certified-Supply-ERV1000EWT-G/dp/B0076NR822/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1396179564&sr=1-1&keywords=enermax+1000w

http://www.amazon.com/Seasonic-PLATINUM-1000-1000-Power-Supply/dp/B00608FKN8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1396179599&sr=1-1&keywords=seasonic+1000w

BTW the enermax is 4 rails amp each  but it is very clearly marked  so it is okay to use.  bitmain uses it in their new s-2's

multiple rail is fine if you understand how to hook it up.

I was really annoyed at the fractal psu's I got them for 200 each the are dead dead dead.  and the seller is fucking around with my return.

Rail 1 +12V: 83.3 A

just that simple 60+ amps on 12v rail and you can do 2 overclocked s1's

Less than 60 per rail -- good luck with that....

CORSAIR, I repeat....CORSAIR ONLY to be safe.

Many companies sell superior psus to corsair these days, I would take Seasonic, super flower leadex, xfx black (made by seasonic iirc), Fractal Design R3 any day over all but the AX corsair supplies (some of the ax ones are/were made by seasonic ;P)

Corsair RM 850 is fine for 2 overclocked Ant's

I've been running 2 overclocked ants on a single Corsair RM 850 for a few days now.  2 oc's ants only draw about 400 watts each on a gold-rated psu.  I was unsure of overclocking 2 ants on a 850 watt psu before.

I have 5 ants, 2 pairs on a RM850 and another on a RM750. I agree about the comment - if you lose one PSU you lose 2 ants, probably get a spare in at some point.
