Satoshi loves sleazy bitcoin too - Ordinals

The fee is actually 15% only over load value. So if you have a .1 btc lealana - and it sells for .15 - you are only paying 15% of the .05. So it’s way better for larger loaded items than it is for small load high premium items.

Mega cool sword - gah dah! Thanks for the pics, MJ and pinky.

Gotta say 15% or even 10% is very steep, reminds me of ebay charges, which I despise.
That said, you can find some very cool items on the scarcecity and ease of use is definitely nice - glad to see a well working lightning implementation there.
So far only basic experience as a potential buyer, will try and see how the other side feels as a seller.

Any pics of that Hal Finney sword, pinky1234?

As a seller I thought the 15% fee was fair for the exposure and handling of the auction. They essentially act as escrow as well so that should also be considered.
Okay, sure escrow and especially exposure may make up for it. Maybe just used to MJs excellent service without high fees and obviously comparing that! Wish the forum had a little more activity...
Like I said, I should try it myself and see from there.

I have only purchased a few things from their marketplace and not yet participated in auctions. Bought a couple of cool things and it was super easy. This is a great business imo. I had some kind of question (can't remember what now) but they answered immediately.

The Stone the masons rejected was the cornerstone.
Only info ☝️😉

My experience with Scarce.City is very positive.
Both with my bids, my wins, shipping, money back and quick easy email-communication with Chris who is also very helpful.

 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Same goes here....all went smooth and I even wrote a thread about my experience with Scarce City as follows..

nice sale!

and deposits? I have never had to make a deposit there when bidding.

Are you sure about that? Even with an account you can't bid without depositing a small percentage of your bid

If I remember correct, Mopar has a "verified" account. I'm not sure, but I think I've read his name as a bidder in some auctions in the past.
Maybe it's because of that or that he's been active there for a long time and it was introduced afterwards?!

Yes, some people do not need to make deposits when bidding.
I am not sure how they determine who does and does not Huh
Interesting to know you can get verified and enjoy some priviliges. I noticed some accounts that were linked to twitter. Hope you don't need an active account there to get verified.
Maybe signing a message with a bitcoin wallet and posting it here on the forum would be a good idea for reputable accounts to get verified?

I didn't find any info on how they store deposits and escrowed frunds from their FAQ page: https://scarce.city/faqs
I also didn't find anything regarding fees. Or do they not charge any fees?
A little strange.

From what I know, the usual fee is 15% to the seller

Congrats to the winner. My first time trying scarce.city. Easy experience.
Need to look into it more, though - is it like an exchange holding my funds or do they have a decentralized system behind it etc.
Also, what I don't like - there is no "verify bid" pop-up before submitting your bid, seems easy to make a mistake by adding one digit too much.

Anyway, GG PeakDk.

Yes, congrats to PeakDK for winning the awesome Squirrelbits slab Cheesy

I am not exactly sure how Scarce City handles their bids/deposits, but I do know they use LN for a lot of it, so would imagine they have some kind of open LN channel with a decent amount of capacity.

Maybe something to add for a future update/upgrade to their user experience on their platform... I know they are always open to improvement/comments to further the experience Cheesy

Keep an eye out in your e mail, in the past it took a few days then they will e mail you the funds, you can download “wallet of satoshi” to redeem on the lightning network to send wherever you want.

You elected for unlimited bidding so you deposited the funds…

This is my understanding and what happens to me the first time.

You can deposit 1 million sats on-chain without lightning and have access to unlimited bids for most of their auctions
