Sounds like you're probably using an IP which was used to spam.

Looks like it's the IP.  Going through the VPN shows the site.

Anyone else getting a "Forbidden" error when accessing http://polimedia.us/?

Works for me.

Still getting error...

"Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /bitcoin/mpex.php on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

I'm in SouthEast Asia.  Is that the problem?

There has been quite some head scratching around over the IDIFF futures... so far they look to me like ideal instrument for ASIC suppliers' insider trading Grin

Rolling expiration models were considered, I'm told. In the end the settled-monthly model was picked, but things may certainly be expanded in the future (either adding a roller, adding multiple months or maybe both).

Good to know. I appreciate the openness.

Yeah. Well, ciuciu, I may (or may not, it's still in question) have lost out on some profits on the F.GIGA.ETF issue, which I did purchase at fire-sale prices out of prior profits. In all the time I've been on MPEx, I haven't lost my principal, and when I've requested it, it came right away. (Even after I found myself vocally irritated with MPEx, there was exactly 0 delay)

I paid to make profits. I've made profits. I fail to see how profiting = getting raped, but, hey, I don't really expect you to grasp complex financial concepts. (as is obviated by your offer of guaranteed yields on your bond)

But what doesn't seem to change is your offensiveness, and elevated interest in Mircea's porn, especially interest in whatever "illegal" porn he might have. Funny. (It may not be illegal for him to post a 16yo girl, but it sure it illegal for you to look at it!!!)

So, while my trust in MPEx has been diminished, it's not extinguished. My trust in you, ciuciu, has never been established. And won't be.

Lol guruvan had a good night's sleep or something. Welcome back among the living....

Well Guruvan, LOL as per your 16 year old writing style, just wait for the next one. Enjoy!
And to paraphrase Mircea and his friends, it is OK to look at porn and even to make it, as you both do LOL you pathetic imbecile.

Yes, he is very trustworthy. He is close to getting a scammer tag.

LOL. Almost as trustworthy as you. How long before your investors start asking for a scammer tag on you, now that you've let them know it'll be more than 1 yr to get fully paid.

Guruvan, the difference is that they will get paid. However, you won't. You paid to be raped by Mircea, and it seems you enjoy it.
Where are the pictures you promised? Mircea, tell us when you post them on your "different line of business" website.

Do not invest more than you can afford to lose.

That part is certainly appropriate.

MPEx works on an expectation of financial competence and sophistication on the part of the user, but fails to enforce something similar to the minimum net worth controls used IRL for this purpose. It is certainly a bad idea to trade BTC futures or any other BTC financials for significant sums if you do not very well understand the workings of both MPEx and the respective instruments.

We'll gladly answer any questions, but there's absolutely nothing we can do about mistaken assumptions.

MPOE has been trustworthy as far as I can tell. Their platform is a pain in the ass to use, but they've been honest thus far Smiley

Thanks for the kind words.  Grin

My only concern is with scheduled expiration. As with traditional futures markets (and any other market with a periodic settlement date), there is a large incentive to game the system prior to expiration.

This is a legitimate concern, and significant work has already gone into trying to mediate it --work that will likely go on in the future.

Currently, MP's view is that it should be safe overall because a) the size difference between the BTC futures market and the references used is an estimated three degrees of magnitude or more and b) of all the price signals that could be acquired, the close is one of the more difficult to game (especially on futures). In principle it should be much more expensive for an interested party to game the close of say Cocoa (probably one of the more vulnerable products) on a Friday than anything they could clear in BTC by doing so. But this aside, the point remains in principle valid and in effect a concern.

It may be worthwhile to consider rolling expirations (based on daily closing prices), perhaps at intervals of 10, 15, and 30 days from contract creation. Bitcoin affords this kind of flexibility where contemporary financial services would need a lot of redesign.

Rolling expiration models were considered, I'm told. In the end the settled-monthly model was picked, but things may certainly be expanded in the future (either adding a roller, adding multiple months or maybe both).

Great addition to a reliable, valuable service.

This could alleviate some of the pre-expiry volatility, as less incentive would exist for larger interests to squeeze open interest to their favor based on an across-the-board limit.

Indeed keeping track of MPEx account accurately can be PITA, but the platform for taking pain off it exists already, and we are open to cooperate and develop customized solution Wink

For end-users of our brokerage I'm glad to announce that MPEx futures are already supported.
