Have you seen this? http://poolserverj.org/performance-testing/

Especially the ISAM vs InnoDB for the database...

To be honest... I looked at the CRUSHING hashing power that's creating blocks like mad... I do not want to stop it. Grin

So I will keep paying out BTC to he current users until further notice.  BUT DO NOT ADD MORE POWER it's too much as it is lots of rejects, server keep going down, and the DB can't keep up. Cry

Solutions..

Try out CrossRoads balancer.
Cluster SQL so for each MYSQL I can get 25Ghs

Other issues are that I may need to customize crossroads as the balancer must be smart enough to detect hash rates to avoid putting to much load on one server.

If you are looking to get paid the 10 BTC I will pay you now just ask.

Regards

Davinci

Not up on the whole pool software BUT if you need a load balancer I have had GREAT experiences with Pound, it was easy to configure, encryption capable and performs very well....
http://www.apsis.ch/pound/

maybe take a look, it might work for you...

Thanks for the tip.

Will you lower the btc payout when cutting the deal off. Or will you do the btc payout manualy?

You will get paid manually.  Just wait for the DB to catch up and you balance will update and you withdraw.  If there are any issues I will fix and get you your coins.

MySql is not Microsoft SQL server.

This is a very sad statement.
If you want to try and help save the NMC blockchain, this kind of computer illiteracy won't get you nowhere, and many people will NOT trust you. As much as I support your good intentions.. well, good intentions do not justify ignorance.

Try to reflect a bit about what you type before you do it, and in the meantime... optimize your MySql, or evolve to Postgres.

Just sayin'.

Software ignorance and linux illiteracy does not reflect badly on me but for the proponents of the software.  It shows it's difficult to use, poor support and the communities inability to help users.

I am impressed with my self that I got this far.  Why?   You are a typical high and might linux guru that assumes that some should just know it all first before they try even using the product.  How about you get off your high horse and give me a hand out of the mud, I am eager to learn.

1 BTC says you will insult me some more instead of helping. Wink

Seriously, how long does it take for a pool to come out of beta?
You've been at it for more than a month now and still your pool is unstable.
Why is it down this time?

I have kept you informed via this thread.

My current issues are 2 fold.
1)  linux command Balance doesn't work very well it ends up pushing all request to one server this cause pushpool to crash after a few hours
2)  The SQL db is too slow it can't handle much more than 25GHs before it's unable to keep up with the inserts this is why you see...
Code:
2011-09-13 22:23:00: Listener for "nmcbit.com test": 13/09/2011 22:23:00, Problems communicating with bitcoin RPC 0 2

I'm going to cut off the .0003000 PPS (its 0.000313 plus a 3% fee) as of Midnight EST or 4 UTC.

I will not be able to fix the problems with my pool in time to support large amounts of hashing so I will not bother.

I will save the BTC for something else.

Sorry, but it's over except for the fat lady the developers of namecoin have not said a word about this and its very demoralizing as a supporter.

Lets hope they have better luck than I did coming up with a solution.

Thanks everyone for trying.

As of now PPS is disabled everyone will get paid so fear not.

If you want to continue mining to support Namecoin you can and you will be paid NMC.

Thanks

Davinci

BTW If I can support 100Gh + I will try again.

UPDATE:  I'm to tired to change all the settings in the db, I will deal with it tomorrow evening. That means PPS is enabled and will be paid for the next 16+ hrs, Please do not add any more hash rate or the system will collapse.  You will not be able to create a new worker with BTC pps.

I don't think my balance is right. I've mined at 13 Ghash/s for 8 hours, and only get 1.3235831 BTC on the balance. And I saw I have 80000+ shares at some point earlier.

I will check it but 80,000 shares seems excessive please pm me you user name.  All shares are in the database even rejected ones.

Okay, got the balance looks better now. 2.89 BTC in 8 hours, not bad.

I will point 20 Ghash/s to your pool after breakfast. (UTC+08:00 here)
Don't bother I can't handle it.

Pool Hashing power just dropped (almost 80%) to 8 GH

My miners were redirected to failback pool

Did we just find a new block and did the database lockup ?

Without clustering MySQL like I have clustered pushpool/namecoin/bitcoin there is no way that I know of I can accept shares faster than 25 GHs without problems.

If anyone has any suggestions that will be quick to implement I'm all ears.

Just to be clear i was in no way complaining! I was just checking that I had understood things properly and that i wasnt doing anything wrong and loosing shares!

Are you running MySQL inside a traditional amazon EC2 compute instance? Or are you using the Amazon Relational Database Service? http://aws.amazon.com/rds/

Andy
No, but thanks for the tip! I will look into it.

I have been mining with this pool through 3+ blocks now and my BTC balance is still at 0BTC despite having submitted 100's or 1000's of shares in each of these 3+ rounds.

Is this just slow database?

Andy

nope, I don't know of anyone else running on amazon, I believe BTCguild has a similiar setup but with real servers, maybe eleuthria may have some ideas?
