My freshman economics professor pumped out an economics theory using pizza as example about every 10 minutes.  Sometimes longer sometimes shorter.  Same as bitcoin really.

Bitcoin
and yet again it is the humble pizza pie that is monetizing bitcoin to a whole new audience ....

.... bitcoins owes pizza big time.

+1

Nice remark, well told Smiley  Next time, someone will buy a pizza restaurant with BTC and make the headlines Wink

It is great to see, but I am surprised that pizzaforcoins.com is getting so much attention - but I'm still amazed at satoshi dice too. Got into bitcoin investment thinking it would revolutionize on-line porn with its anonymous features. Well, count me wrong. Congrats on the site, hope you make a ton.

and they didn't even mention bitcointalk.org

This forum is not even on the first page of google results for "bitcoin"

Well, it's kind of a good thing, isn't it?    I mean, bitcoin is a tool.  Here we talk about it.  Elsewhere, people use it.

Why would someone want to overpay for a pizza using bitcoin?

... it's part of the initiation ritual into bitcoin ... if you haven't over-payed for something and been 'deflated' out of a small fortune you probably don't have enough skin in the game, pizzas just happen to be popular item. Pizzas and modified PCI-e extender cables ...

yes, but this gimmick won't work for most people

"In Us We Trust"
I love the fact that Pizza and Bitcoin have such strong bonds.

Mainly because I love both very much.

Journalist: Hey Boss, remember that internet money I told you about, that one that could completely change our monetary system? That one you didn't want to make an artikle about?
Boss: Barely.
Journalist. You now can buy Pizza with it.
Boss: Well, if that isn't front page material.

*Example slightly exaggerated

Interesting example, though it is probably indeed exaggerated.

I guess journalists don't care much about concepts.  They want results, facts.

Although the list is somewhat unstable, this is currently the 5th most read article on BBC News, higher than North Koreas nuclear test! Smiley

This is bloody brilliant.

"They have become a very widely used alternative payments system."

No mention of Silk Road.

No mention of hacking.

Just some good publicity.

Well, again you see how mainstream media works.

I can so imagine this. Persistent mention eventually wears through people's shields.
