Dude - you could just leave them alone. They obviously do not want to be your accountant. Frankly, they probably think your really annoying.

Since you bought one you probably do not want any information coming out that might make people uncomfortable with their decision call for refunds out of fear.  You may not want transparency but the company did state it wanted to be as transparent as possible.  So let them be transparent.  Transparency is not reporting only the good things its also reporting what might be a problem.  So I welcome the additional information from someone that is near by their offices.

Keep up the good work Doc.

Ok dudes I have an update.

I telephoned them. Why? Because It dawned on me that I actually needed an accountant.

They explained to me that they have 'nothing to do with' alpha technologies which I completely respect and understand.
Of course they don't, and shouldn't have to answer any questions regarding Alpha Technologies.

If you were an accountant, and your Family member happens to set up shop next door fixing cars, you wouldn't entertain people coming into your accountancy business asking if the car was fixed! Or if it needed a new gasket! Its Completely Right, I respect them as professionals.

However I do actually need an accountant. And I need an accountant that understands or will be looking to understand Litecoin and Bitcoin Legislation as it comes in. I don't mind paying tax on profits - not that I have made any, but Ive been running a couple of affiliate websites not related to bitcoin since December, under the Governments New Enterprise Scheme.

So Im going to see if, through mutual back rubbing, I can get a little further with this.

THEY DID SAY TO ME ON THE PHONE

That as accountants, they have no experience regarding paying tax on bitcoins, litecoins, Altcoins etc. Again, completely understand.
The customers they deal with don't trade virtual currency, they are mainly restaurant owners and taxi drivers etc. They said I should perhaps look for an accountant with more experience in this field.

My argument will be that should Virtual Currency trading become more and more popular, It would be educational for them to advise me, and surely this would be beneficial to them as family members venture into this arena. Id like them to look at my accounts, help me to process my receipts etc, but would they like to comment on possibly some pre-prepared questions from this forum

I.E. You guys pick a set of Ten Questions, and I approach them with the questions and represent them.

My appointment is mid February. Its a bit of a long shot if they will be disclosing anything immediately, but hopefully as a customer and a potential litecoin mining device customer,  they will be kind enough to put me in contact with those who can answer some questions??!!

Dude - you could just leave them alone. They obviously do not want to be your accountant. Frankly, they probably think your really annoying.

I bought 1 x 25 Mh/s unit because this is equivalent to roughly 40 x 7970's. Last year I was looking to host 80 x 7970's but this was not realistic given the power and cooling required. 40 x 7960's would cost me $16k USD. This unit will cost me $8900 and solves my power/cooling scaling problem. I feel this is good enough for me to make a $2700 bet on using a platinum AMEX which given me 90 days to file a dispute.

the cost of the memory needed to mine script would make the asic they are advertising easily 3 times more expensive if it was legit

Ok dudes well Im up for this. as a litecoin miner, Id love to know myself.
As I said I know the area well enough, and the community is of what we UK dudes call ethnic (hence the curry mile is around the corner from them)
I worked for muslims for years on and off, they know everyone and everyone knows them as they run a big business since the mid 1990's

Im going to post my BTC and LTC address in the sig, as all contributions to my currently out of work status are a big help!

Ill be scouting from Monday.

yes I agree they are a bunch of joes that came upon the holy grail and are not adept at understanding what they really have.  I expect they are putting too much faith in their manufacturer and that will result in a lot of shipment, customer service issues after deployment.  I am very concerned at their capability to support manufacturer defects after shipping.  My guess is they cannot handle it and will ignore many of them.  That is a risk I cannot afford based on their inexperience.  I mean they have only one engineer and he is only a recent college grad (Fiaz).  The rest are just accountants.

Im mining litecoin
I live in Manchester

I may just jump on the 43 bus and investigate

I know this area quite well, having worked for computer parts distrib for around ten years not far from these dudes, In fact I emailed them before Christmas but never got a reply...

Anyone willing to stick a bounty on this ? I can push for face to face interview. You would be paying for all the beer I can drink in Manchester Town Centre for one day!

Currently one litecoin is 4 pints of Fosters and a kebab on the Curry Mile.

please do...i've come to fhe conclusion they are probably legit...but they seem to have the same skills as me and a buddy trying to make this work legitimately long distance with some connection we happen to have with a plant in india

so i'd be more interested if it looks like the above (sorry can relate but if you don't know what you are doing....ie no more then me...(i'd be clueless too) time to bolt.

if they show us some more prototypes with actual people around named do an informal interview ..show pics of the company picnic that kinda thing'

i may fence sit longer before making a decision

anyway consider it we'd appreciate it as you good deed of the year ...floating by the place (pics video scantly clad girlfriend plying them with drinks to get info.....the whole james bond route would be helpful...then post it here)

sigh no one sticks anything interesting in the midwest of the USA (blazing blizzard outside as we speak)

You could have spent the same amount now and earned enough to cover your initial investment and still be profitable.  This miner would only benefit if it was released yesterday..

ya people don't buy these

If anyone wanted one of the big Viper's (25Mh/s), I'm selling my spot here:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/sell-viper-scrypt-miner-25mhs-front-of-line-pre-order-spot-410595
why would you sale your spot in line?

er a bit of debate on forums if the asic litecoin miner is a scam or not.....because they take paypal most
folks are sitting on hands for 30 to 45 days waiting to be impressed or to bolt and get a refund from alpha or if that fails
paypal (paypal is within 45days) and or longer (credit card amex is 60days)

so...there's the rub....are they legit ...taking paypal and looking like such ...or when push comes to shove
will they do a BFL and repay the paypal via 45days or longer paypal via cc depending on your credit cards policy
and run off with the money from BTC/Wire xfer/bank xfer/or LTC....where there are NO protections

so there is the rub indeed.....

myself have a 5mhz and did the 1/3 down via paypal cc amex and counting down the 30 days so far not too impressed
or not enough to keep my spot unless I see some info on these boards (they have replied before now silent) or some other
info of how it is going...like people stopping by their offices...some interviews ...some tours of the plant in india...etc etc

so far I'd guess probably 1/2 or more of their pre-orders will punt their paypal at least....but then on the other hand
i doubt anyone would have given them much money at all w/o the paypal method of payment with the protections...

so imho we better see LOTS of info to calm nerves or it is a wash....with paypal got $$$ lost $$$ in 45days..w/o
paypal no one would have ordered due to BFL and other scams

up to them to dazzle us....better get to it soon

Am I converting this wrong?  Isn't the 5Mh/s the equivalent of 5000Kh/s which is only slightly faster than my GPU rigs?

Yep, that's right. The savings is in the electricity.

Why would you open a company, struck it off the register, open a new company, change name/ address all under same director? in matter of months? hm...

One of the reasons for 29/12 may be that he wrote his full name instead.
