Coindesk is a very reliable source... but then why the exchange rate is coming down? If the news was not a hoax, then BTC would have hit $3K by now.

I was surprised about it as I thought it would be huge news, but maybe it'll gain some traction when it goes live.

Ebay accepting Bitcoin would be massive news, but just officially allowing it isn't that huge. You can already buy and sell coins on there anyway.

How reliable is this news? I don't see any major news agencies covering it...

They need to sort the Paypal problem out first, because until they stop scammers from abusing their system this is still pointless.

"Bitcoin suffers from the dark-side image and a partner like PayPal is likely to enhance the public confidence in the crypto currencies"   Huh

Weird. I won't complain about another exchange going up, although I doubt they have the expertise to run a bitcoin exchange right.

This service will be limited to UK only and there won’t be any possibility to buy physical goods on the website.

So they are going to become a cryptocurrency exchange?  But you can't buy things for bitcoin???

I'll stick to Vircurex or Cryptsy for trading alternate cryptocurrencies.

If ebay starts paying more interest than Vircurex, then perhaps I'd consider switching.

I wonder if deposits will be secured in any way.

very good news indeed, at least cuts out the gray area for listing on Ebay.  Odd that they are calling it a "classified ads" section though.  Just hope they only allow BTC and LTC as stated so far.......
