Leave no FUD unchallenged
So the fork may come in the next major release in June, or possibly the next big update after that.  It's an understatement to say there's going to be some further controversy (as if we didn't have enough threads already), but I'm sure it will get sorted in the end.  One way or another, Bitcoin needs to scale to allow more users on board.  At present, it can't do that, so unless someone has any better ideas, the proposed fork needs to happen.

I think it's been set up perfectly for scalability. I'm sure it will grow organically and adept to any challenges it faces, but I hope it really does reach billions though I can't see it happening. Hundreds of millions would do me though  Cheesy.

Gavin Andresen Optimistic About Scaling Bitcoin

NEW YORK (InsideBitcoins) — Bitcoin core developer Gavin Andresen gave the opening talk on day two of the 2015 MIT Bitcoin Expo, and his remarks mainly focused on the issue of scaling bitcoin to potentially billions of new users in the future. Andresen covered some of the improvements that have already been implemented for the purposes of scaling the bitcoin blockchain, and he also seemed rather optimistic in regards to the bitcoin developer community’s ability to help bitcoin scale as a widely-used store of value, payment system, and global ledger for storing facts that cannot be repudiated.
