I modified the ip in question here, but got lots of misbehaving ips in the log.

all fine, this is just result by the fact that all nodes / Clients comunicate together
and share the protocol Version, if the proto Version doesnt match, the Client
disconnect the node and block the Connection for XX times.

Pool has no problems either but it was another linux wallet of mine that just stopped syncing. I keep a close look at it but seems to work fine now.

I had sync problems too. Not with the pool but with other wallet.
Ended up removing everything in the .2017 folder exept for the wallet.dat ofc.
Even after that it still got stuck every few 100 blocks. Killing the 2017d daemon and restarting it several times solved it for now.
I think it has something to do with the fork of earlier this day.
I had lots of this kind of stuff in the debug.log:

Thank you to the Pool owner/Operator to update her Clients.
the patch has fixed the issue with the "harsh" diff. Retarget
and everything is running fine, the rewards and Timings are re-calculated
again to hit the original total supply from 2017 Coins.

during the next days there will be a few more changes on the code,
a few just Client side and a few Server side. but These changes
will get wrapped in a bigger Update around block 50000.
