I can't figure out what face is going to be on this Satoshi Nakamoto statue. According to Wikipedia, Satoshi Nakamoto is the name used by the unknown person or people who developed bitcoin, authored the bitcoin white paper, and created and deployed bitcoin's original reference implementation.

This is utterly moronic. How the fuck can you build a statue of an anonymous person?

The local council won't give the slightest shit about this idea and will throw it out immediately. And surely it represents almost every single aspect Satoshi did not.
There's no chance this statue is going to actually get installed, so far it's just some few activists presenting their project, it would need to get approved by officials, and this is where it will stop. Maybe it could get installed in some remote location, but these guys want to install it on one of the main streets of the city, so there's no way officials would allow to place a statue of someone in their mind so insignificant (they'll probably hear the name "Satoshi Nakamoto" for the first time when they'll hear this proposition). Journalists really like to post news about some awesome things that are going to happen, but so often it's just promises and ideas that never become a reality.
Satoshi did the initial work, but he, with all due respect and credits, is no longer part of the process, and I am happy that Bitcoin doesn't have one main character like Ethereum or Bcash.
No need to put a real face of a Japanese guy, they can build the head and put a bitcoin symbol instead of the face.
I personally don't see any value in this, but if they proceed anyway, then they just need a BTC and they are done. Using only the BTC instead of something that's shaped like a human, contributes to its permissionless nature, and that's exactly what it should be praised for. Human input is poison to everything in the world as we have seen.

BTW, the place where they plan to build the statue is good and i doubt that authorities will accept it easily.

An initiative to erect a monument of Satoshi Nakamoto in Ukraine’s capital is gaining momentum and support. The idea is to place the statue right where the red Karelian stone figure of Lenin used to stand, before it was taken down almost five years ago. The project is said to be part of a global campaign to build Satoshi monuments around the world.
