I agree with the opinions that this is pointless. The only thing it manages to achieve is giving some more air time to Craig. The last thing bitcoin needs right now, with all this tether FUD in the air, is more SV drama. The community should move on and ignore Craig since he's been caught a number of times trying to forge documents and lie about his involvement. Not only is he not Satoshi, but also he hasn't been nowhere around the real founder and Hal Finney when they were testing the system.

Nonsense and wasting time giving attention all about this new there nothing important bring it for the community.
Bringing attention to a random guy but also mocking him since he is unable to prove he is the real satoshi. I share the same idea with everyone here, people should just neglect Craig until his mind gets fixed somehow...

the thing is if its him , he doesn't need this pittance of 100.000
if CSW is Satoshi indeed , he is one of the richest people in the world
would be seriously retarded to take this offer and reveal identity , it serves no purpose and could only result in problems
No one would take it seriously if someone is the real satoshi. 100,000 would just a piece of dust and theres no point on proving something.
I do read a few days back about McCormack been sued out by CW and now we are seeing these offers? What are the things we do expect next?

Didn't Craig Wright also threaten to sue for defamation? I read it in another article.

I think it's a completely valid question to ask, and it's nowhere near defamation. The proof that Craig Wright has put out simply isn't sufficient, and all McCormack is asking is for solid evidence that he is who he claims to be.

But personally, I don't think there is any point in speculating on satoshi's identity anymore. The network has run for nearly a decade without any information on his identity, and he's been gone for the better half of that decade. I simply don't think that it's necessary for us to know who he is in order to sustain this decentralised environment, in fact, it may be even more decentralised without his presence.

Bitcoin podcaster Peter McCormack offers Craig Wright £100,000 to prove he’s Satoshi

Update: Peter McCormack has upped his offer to Craig Wright and now is only requesting $1 in Bitcoin from the Genesis block. However, many have pointed out funds cannot be sent from the Genesis Block and must instead be sent from Satoshi’s wallet.

this is a series worth watching, it looks like Game of Thrones every day we have some new exciting episode. I wonder, how will the true satoshi Nakamoto see this situation? maybe the real satoshi nakamoto has a twitter account and He's reading so many faketoshi nonsense. that not to have to finish the novel he decided not to show his face. faketoshi should stop shaming on the internet because everyone looks at nonsense that he talks without proof and laugh. Does he like being embarrassed? how do faketoshi's friends hang around him without laughing at him?

Everyone plays Craig Wright game now, and this is what he wanted to.
It is obvious that CW is not Satoshi but still people want to get involved in this topic because it is mainstream and try to get publicity from that. It is a shame for Craig Wright but also for Peter McCormack in my opinion.

What is the point of hiding when you have not done anything wrong and only contribute a great innovation to society ? I bet he died because of his old age.

What's the point of hiding? How about not having paid tax over close to 1 million Bitcoins, and that for nearly a decade now? How about governments internally having put a price on his head?

The great innovation you are referring to is something that has the potential to significantly disrupt the power of the governments with their firmly isolated financial systems. If satoshi ever pops up somewhere, he won't be able to enjoy his freedom anymore because governments will throw him in prison and seize all his coins.

Satoshi has everything to lose by going public at this stage, but everything to gain by patiently waiting for Bitcoin to be that world reserve currency.

But one thing we can sure of, is that the real Satoshi is dead.

How can you be so sure of that? Satoshi might just not have access to his coins anymore and still be around. It wouldn't surprise me if turns out that Satoshi didn't want to have that much of an economical advantage over the rest, therefore he erased his private keys and whatnot.

Just because coins don't move it doesn't mean that they are lost, or the owners are dead. Who knows, Satoshi might hold till Bitcoin becomes the world reserve currency, and then starts playing with them.

Dude, it's not that the money anymore that would make him show himself but the great legacy. Even Thomas Edison stole ideas from Tesla just to get recognition from the whole world and leave his mark through history. What is the point of hiding when you have not done anything wrong and only contribute a great innovation to society ? I bet he died because of his old age.

I don't know how much crypto (BTC, BCH, BSV, BTG.etc) Craig Wright owns. But I suspect that the amount is much higher than this 100K that is being offered. Another worrying aspect is the criminal liability. In case Craig Wright proves that he is Satoshi, will Peter McCormack guarantee that there will be no criminal charges against CSW? There is a very good chance that the creator of Bitcoin can be sued in the American courts, for creating a currency that can be used to buy drugs (somewhat) anonymously. Do you think that CSW will take this chance for just  £100,000?

This is a bet that cannot be won. You cannot send any coins from the Genesis block, so McCormack's money is safe.  Tongue   People should identify Satoshi's early addresses with coins that was mined by him and then offer a large reward for anyone that can sigh those addresses.  Roll Eyes

In my opinion, not even Satoshi has access to those Private Keys anymore, because I think he mined it and lost it or even dumped it.

Satoshi was not into Bitcoin for the massive profits, but rather to change/disrupt the financial world.  Wink

I don't see any point in offering CSW money to provide proof of something we know he isn't be able to prove.

All this is doing is grant CSW more relevance; in his book negative attention is still positive attention because more people get to know who he is, and what he is trying to achieve with "Bitcoin" aka BSV. If you want to punish CSW, the best way to do it is to not reach out to him in any way.

Vitalik already made a valid point that Craig Wright is not Satoshi. Faketoshi fits to him well so that gives him already a legacy that means that he's not to be trusted of any project that he is involved most importantly on the blockchain industry. But one thing we can sure of, is that the real Satoshi is dead.

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.
Craig Wright already filed a libel claim in the UK against Peter McCormack
Yep this was the first news/reason why McCormack offers CSW in total of £250k to prove he's satoshi disregard as CSW seek £100k for his so-called libel case to the podcaster.

Craig Wright already filed a libel claim in the UK against Peter McCormack due to its twit with a photo of legal notice last April 18, 2019
Since McCormack is accusing Craig Wright as a fraud and also considering Craig Wright as a false self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto that is really the creator of Bitcoin,  The libel claim was really filed by Wright to protect his name.

It is a brilliant idea of Wright to seek $130,000 for the damages this podcaster made to his name.

Cointelegraph recently reported, major cryptocurrency exchange Binance delisted BSV over a similar instance in which Wright took action against the anonymous Twitter user who initiated the Lightning Torch. Crypto exchange Kraken has also delisted BSV, as did centralized crypto swap service  Shapeshift. In the meanwhile, OKEx announced that it will not delist the coin.

Until then, please can we just ignore this idiot?

At least this unnecessary attention and drama lead to the delisting of BSV from various exchanges. That should give him a reality check. But anyway, asking to ignore people like him is almost impossible. People love to talk or discuss something like this, even if it doesn't give them any benefits.

What I am waiting for right now is to see Craig Wright sue Calvin Ayre and vice versa. It's only a matter of time.

Oh, more drama. More money and time to waste. What a nice life they have.

I don't see any point in offering CSW money to provide proof of something we know he isn't be able to prove.
It has turned into a childish mud throwing battle with only two winners, and these are Craig Wright and Calvin Ayre. These two entities make BSV look bad while Jimmy Nguyen, CEO of nChain is taking a different, more 'friendly' approach.

It won't surprise me if nChain ends up sacking Craig Wright, because there is no way they believe that he is Satoshi. They wanted to ride on his 'popularity' but it has backfired with how the ecosystem punishes BSV as a whole.

What I am waiting for right now is to see Craig Wright sue Calvin Ayre and vice versa. It's only a matter of time.

the best way to do it is to not reach out to him in any way.
It's also to stop posting anything about him on here/reddit/twitter/medium/steemit/etc.

He isn't Satoshi. He knows he isn't Satoshi. He knows everyone else knows he isn't Satoshi. I suspect even the BSV shills admit in private they know he isn't Satoshi. If he was anybody else, like you or me, his outbursts would be completely and justifiably ignored by everyone. His behavior continues only because people continue to give him the attention he wants.

If he signs a message from a Satoshi-linked address, then by all means, post a new topic. Until then, please can we just ignore this idiot?
