I supported what you said because the main purpose of the prediction made by John McAfee was to being noticed, gain more followers and also to pump the price of his puppet altcoin which was exactly the reason why he included the name of two altcoins in his last prediction.

I just hope his followers are wise enough to know this.

Here we go again. What surprises me is that, this guy usually find his voice anytime there is a form of price rallying on the upward side and not the other way round. In my opinion, I think anyone is allowed to make a suggestion and prediction on his/her wishes and not bothered to explain on the ways in which the prediction will come to pass and that is the beauty of crypto as anyone is allowed to make a prediction. I have not seen a director comes out to announce what the shares of its company will worth in a year without backing it up with fact neither have I seen a president that can say confidently this the amount of certain currency its own currency will be trading against. The joke is actually on people who believe him to be the everlasting seer. 2020 is just few months away and the end of that year is closer than we think...

Exactly, by using his name and fact that people like big numbers, he very successfully promotes whatever one pays him. We can clearly see this from the OP, in addition to its claim to the price of Bitcoin, there is also mention about two altcoins. Considering how much he charges for such services, he probably put some good money in his pocket just by posting that tweet.

At first, his motives may not have been clear, but to this day it is very clear to anyone who uses a little brain what direction his ship goes. That he will eat something or not on national television is completely irrelevant, I think it's one classic hoax that has a 0% chance of coming true.

The man is just taking us for a good ride. He is just joking and the only reason he looks serious is because the media loves to cover whatever he is going to say outrageous or not. However, I am going to give John McAfee a good credit for being charismatic as he can easily command the attention of the media to his side, albeit the Bitcoin community somehow not finding him cute and cuddly. He can predict whatever amount for Bitcoin but only time can tell if his prediction will come true. As to eating his own stick bread in front of live television camera, don't count on that guys, am sure there will be no audience interested to see it no matter the size, shape or color.

This is one delusional man. Even with all of the institutional adoption that goes on, and in the best of the best scenarios, bitcoin will not hit the heights that he is predicting.

Only in the very, very long run will this even be a possibility, due to fiat depreciation. But even that would require a hyperinflationary scenario to come to fruition. He is clearly doing this for the media props.

God, what a fucking clown. Making predictions is fine and it's his life but he's just being stupid now, not the most professional way for someone to get some attention with their predictions and it's definitely going to be subjected to a lot of ridicule.

It's really saddening to see someone saying they are going to eat themselves become a hot topic and widely discussed everywhere, pointless and we are just giving stupid celebrities attention.

I guess all we need to do now is wait for the inevitable to happen and see what he ends up doing when Bitcoin doesn't go 200x in a year's time.

We actually can be so sure if people are not up to his predictions since he's a very influential person and only active people on the crypto community totally know most of his predictions are false. Mind you, if Craig of BSV could still deceive some people it won't be hard for McAfee to make people believe in his predictions.

creating hype is okey as long as you do not go with the promises you cannot fulfill
nothing interesting will happen on the "dickening day"
McAfee can increase his predictions to 1-2 and even 5 millions and promise to eat different parts of his anatomy
it won't change the fact that bitcoin is not going to be worth 1 mil $ in 2020 , this will be more than 100x times increase in capitalization
and it would mean global markets transformation , the world is kinda not ready for this
