They are talking about odds, not handicaps. If you play +8.5 bet you get only 1.70-2.00 odds.

Warriors just got killed by the turnovers then the 4th quarter celtics made the lead up to 7points with few minutes left on the clock then warriors cut the lead making it 2pt game then they choked in the few seconds left to reach ot.
