Very impressive statistic in the match Germany vs Liechtenstein which ended with a goal party of 9-0.
Germany completely controlled the entire pitch and didn't let Liechtenstein's players hit the net with a shot on target. It was something that all Liechtenstein players never wanted where they had to go home in a very embarrassing way.

The surprising thing also came from the results of the Portugal vs Ireland match. I hoped Portugal could take all the opportunities to make their ambition of leading the group easy, but it all failed because Ireland were impressive in that match. Even though it only ended in a draw, Portugal still led Group A for a while with the same point as Serbia.

scotland can also take a big step towards qatar with an away win in the republic of moldova.
The match should be kickoff in a few minutes, Scotland will secure second spot if they win the game and they easily should, no doubt.

Moldova have conceded 24 goals so far, so I don't think they will be of much difficulty to Scotland who needs the win.

I have my bet on Scotland -1.5 Handicap @ 1.98

I generally have money on the Scots but since I'm staying away from regular 1x2 picks, I've done a special on 4 favourites tonight to score in both halves (Scotland, England, Poland, Italy). The Swiss will be the one figured to be the hardest of them all, so I should only be worried about Italy, but at 18/1 I thought it the bet was well worth taking. For once I don't need either of them to win, just to score ha!

the match between italy and switzerland will decide who will most likely finish first in the group. scotland can also take a big step towards qatar with an away win in the republic of moldova.
in group i things look clear - if england (vs. albania) and poland (vs. san marino) win their matches, they are both qualified for the world cup and in group f denmark can set a new record - there has never been a country that has won all its qualifying matches without conceding a goal ... today at home vs. faroe islands and on monday in scotland, denmark is on a very good way to create this record

Denmark really recorded a perfect win and they have a chance to make a new history I don't know what's special, maybe the composition of the team in group F is a little lucky?
I'm pretty sure Denmark can finish the remaining 2 matches with a win and without conceding because there is no strong opponent there.

I wonder why the odds of Italy winning are so low:
1,57- 3,95 - 5,80
Italy needs this victory and despite the relatively strong performance of the Swiss national team in this match is likely to win. The rest of the matches look much less competitive than this one, I think everyone who will not watch their national team today will watch this match.
Because Switzerland is missing a lot of important players. They will be without following players: Nico Elvedi, Steven Zuber, Breel Embolo, Gregor Kobel,Christian Fassnacht, Granit Xhaka and Haris Seferovic. It will be tough for them to find replacements for all of them.

Italy is also missing some important players but they have much bigger pool of players to call so I believe they can overcome those difficulties much easier and win today. But don't listen to me, I also thought Sweden was winning yesterday for sure.

I don't think the odds for Italy to win is too low, given the importance of the fixture. Italy and Switzerland are on equal points and Italy would need at least a draw here and to match Switzerland's result in the last game with a better or not more than one goal difference from that of Switzerland's. I'd expect Italy to go all out for a win tonight rather than settling for a draw.

Denmark will also be hoping to continue their qualifiers journey without conceding a goal, and it seems like an achievable feat looking at how far they've come, I will be having a bet on them Win To Nil against Faroe Island tonight, It looks as though they might not play to their fullest since they secured the top spot of their group and the coach might want to give playing time to some other guys, but I don't think he'll want to compromise their defensive line even if he does give some other players playing time.

Italy and Switzerland are on the same points, 14 points and both leading the group. Italy is ahead of the difference but it's only 2 goal difference. And I think it will not be wise for Italy if they sit back and play for a draw as they might regret that later.
And Denmark should easily win against Faroe Island. As Denmark is leading the group table and it seems to have little competition in the group. Denmark is on 24 points and in second place in Scotland on 17 points and the goal difference is also huge.

Well, Portugal did lose but they are still leading the group. They are in the first spot in the group with 17 points. Serbia also has 17 points but Portugal is ahead on goal difference. So I don't think that it using the last match will be off too much concern for Portugal. Also, the four-goal difference is coming in real big for Portugal.

We will see on Sunday, right? Portugal can lose that first place if they lose the next game against Serbia! Smiley

Jokes on a side (I am from Serbia), Portugal is a better team! They need only draw for that first place and calm start, but Serbia has nothing to lose, only with a win they can take that ticket for the world cup, so I expect them to play open and aggressive from the start! The first game in Belgrade was 2: 2, so Serbia is not completely without chances... full team is playing, we won some friendly game against Qatar with 4 : 0, I guess players are optimistic and boosted for the game! I will probably bet on Serbia to win, but with handicap +1 probably! Open game can be good, but if Portugal makes some nice contra and score early it will change the game completely, which can happen!

I'm still astonished how Georgia was able Sweden in yesterday's match. I know Sweden to be a tough team with a hard defense. Kudos to Georgia on the win. Really football is unpredictable at times.

I was expecting Romania to win against Iceland. They performance was good, and they even dominated the match. But, it seems like Iceland had a solid defence which made it difficult to Romania to score. However, drawing the match, resulted to Romania losing their position to North Macedonia. They are now at the 3rd place.
While Portugal also made me lose my bets. I gave them a straight wining, because I literally thought they were going to win against Ireland.
Yesterday I wrote that there is not much motivation in the match between Portugal and Ireland, so need to be careful with this match. As for the Romania-Iceland match, Romania was supposed to win this match, they played very well, but sometimes it happens that the ball just doesn't fly into the opponent's goal. Now Romania only has to win the last match against Liechtenstein, and hope that Iceland will also take points from Macedonia.

There were some good matches to watch happening yesterday and besides the surprising win of Georgia vs. Sweden there were no big upsets happening yesterday. This loss for sweden was extremely unlucky because now they need to win against in their last match against Spain if they want to be back on the first position of the table again and this would be pretty important as only the first team is qualified directly. If they would have won against Georgia then a draw would have been enough against Spain. So Georgia completely changed the circumstances for the last matchday. I still think though that both Spain and Sweden have good chances to qualify even if they have to play the additional play-off round.

Today's main game is Italy - Switzerland without any doubts. Direct fight for 1st place in group. Here I'm backing Italy to win and qualify to World Cup directly.
According to bookmakers, Austria is favorites against Israel, but I'm not sure about it. In last game Israel won big - 5:2, so, probably I'll skip this game or put over 2.5.
Andorra - Poland and Denmark - Faroe Islands, prepare for many goals. Maybe not 9 like yesterday, but I think we can see 5 or 6 goals in these games.
Hungary - San Marino is also similar game, but I'm not sure that Hungary is able to score so many goals. Same about Scotland against Moldova.

I wonder why the odds of Italy winning are so low:

Yesterday I was surprised that Georgia beat Sweden with a decent score, and also that Portugal drew with Ireland, although the red card was to blame! The rest was expected, except for Armenia vs Macedonia - I thought the score would be much lower!
Today I expect an interesting match between Italy and Switzerland! Hopefully the home side can win with a handicap (-1) Wink

Both Russia and Croatia were really dominant yesterday - although against really weak opposition. Still, it is a good announcement for their game on Sunday, both teams will go into it knowing they can score goals.

It is especially important for Croatia, considering we have to win to claim the 1st spot. Odds on us winning are really low (around 1.6 currently), meaning that bookies consider us strong favorites - with which I do agree with. Still, 2.30 on Russia not to lose looks like a good value bet so I think I'll go with that one. If we win, I'll be happy because we qualified. If we don't, at least the beers will be free Grin

I am not a fan of the Russian national team, but in my opinion Croatia's real chances of winning should be much lower (and the odds higher). 1.6 looks like victory is already in their pocket, but the Russian team is not so bad, and the Croatian team is far from its peak. Most likely, in this pair, it is more profitable to bet on Russia or a draw.

Romania and Portugal destroyed my almost winning tickets with their boring 0:0 draws, and I didn't watch Portugal match but Romania had so many shots on goal and domination against Iceland but couldn't put the ball in the end.
I don't know if Ronaldo was sleeping for Portugal or what  Cheesy

In fact, Ronaldo was "uninspired" not to say anything worse about him.

The game started very well with Cristiano Ronaldo and André Silva attacking a lot, but they soon cooled off and Ireland dominated the game... at that moment I also changed my bet to at least one Irish goal... I screwed up Sad Sad

In the end, both teams let me down, but Ireland deserved to win, they played much better than Portugal in my opinion.
A great performance by the Ireland, I know Portugal must have thought the game was a walk over. But I knew that Ireland is never an easy side to play against. They are building a pretty solid team now as the await the world cup. At some point it seems the republic of Ireland is in the top 100 team to in FIFA ranking because I don't know any other reasons why Ronaldo wouldn't score against them. Portugal would say they played in Ireland and they should not be expecting a win or something.  Good result but Portugal should have taken the 3 points. Now they will have to play Serbia to decide who tops the group.

There is no doubt that Croatia will get the win in today's match. The question is if they will take the win against Russia, which destroys Cyprus as we speak with 4-0.
So Russia, won't be Malta for sure and Croatia will have to be more than good to bypass it.

Yes. Croatia seems to be doing quite well at the moment since they have scored early in the game and looks good on the field. It would be nice to secure three points as soon as possible so that they can rest some players for the next game, which will be crucial. Quite a few goals in the match between Russia and Cyprus. I mean, obviously, Russia is the favorite, but I wasn't expecting it to be quite that dominating on the field.

edit: Croatia just conceded an own goal as I was writing this, but it still leads 2:1 3:1.  Cheesy

In the end, Croatia won 7: 1, which is one of the biggest victories of Croatia in history.
Ultimately, Russia and Croatia seem to have had 2 easy practice matches against Malta and Cyprus before the clash on Sunday for first place in the group.
Croatia played very well in attack but again made mistakes in defense, which a stronger team like Russia could use to win.
I still believe that Croatia is a better team than Russia, but on Sunday they will face a very difficult and motivated opponent, and they will have to be very patient and especially concentrated in defense.

The competition for advancing to the World Cup is still going on very closely in the Group G:

Turkey are chasing Norway and Norway are trying to run away from them. They both won their last two games. And in four days, Turkey are going to play a home game against Gibraltar. And Norway are going to play a home game against Latvia. Turkey have a really easy task to do. Gibraltar are one of the most terrible teams of this tournament. They are not much different than San Marino. So Turkey should be able to demolish them. And when it comes to Norway, Haaland is still injured but Sorloth seems to be back. Latvia are another weak team in the group and I don't expect Norway to make a mistake here.
Anybody looking at the log should have expected Turkey to be second but football being a game which is unpredictable  at times, I guess they found themselves chasing for second sport as Netherlands might have created some breathing room for themselves but I still think Turkey can still catch up as all it will take is Norway dropping all three points and them winning their game. But with the finish line in their sight, this will be good race to Qualification.
