I have always thought that the reason for why this is the case is that many of the best players of each national team play in Europe and they play in a certain way, however when they go back to their respective national teams they are forced to play in a completely different way and as such their performance decreases, and what better example of this than Messi, Messi played incredibly at Barcelona but when he played with Argentina his level went down, he did not played horribly but you could clearly see something was missing.

It sounds incredible, but Turkey won against Latvia for the first time in history. And they won just after penalty which was given after VAR review and scored it on 98th minute. It's very important win for Turkey in fight for 2nd place. Until now Latvia probably was most uncomfortable opponent for Turkey.
Russia achieved very important win in Slovenia. Meanwhile Croatia quite unexpected failed to beat Slovakia. Croatia made score 3:2, but goal was cancelled because of offside.

Unbelievable final in Latvia - Türkiye game as we expect match to finish, referee gave a penalty with VAR help. Burak Yılmaz scored the penalty and Türkiye did a great comeback. Lads fought until the last second and tried to find that winning goal, penalty was the savior of the night. If match finished as draw Türkiye's World Cup chances could be over but that didn't happen. It's still not in Türkiye's hands though, Norway is still in second place. But they will play with Netherlands so anything is possible. What a crazy night! I'm tuned in on Germany's match and all I can say is that, it's the way the intended to have the game, They're are pretty dominant and ahead by a goal, even with Macedonia trying to catch them on then break occasionally, I don't think it will happen.

The first half of the match ended with Russia leading with a 1-2 score. Russia scored two goals in 4 minutes, while Slovenia responded with a goal 8 minutes after Russia score their second goal. The match is quite interesting, and Russia have to play more carefully in the second half to avoid drawing the game.

Croatia is losing with a goal difference to Slovakia, but Croatia is dominating the match. They won their last match, and I think they may end the match in draw, Although, Slovakia needs the winning to slide up on the group standings, because they lost their last match to Russia.

In the Group G games, Turkey are playing away against Latvia and Norway are playing home against Montenegro. I don't want to talk much about Netherlands - Gibraltar game as it is a very easy one for Netherlands and they would win by a big gap. Turkey don't have any other choice rather than winning this one.
