1. There are 54 countries in Africa so please show some respect and name the country where this occurred. It is rude and ignorant to continually to refer to the continent in one insular prism.

In all the 54 countries, the population growth rate is much above the global average, and this is clearly not sustainable in the long term. Name a single country, where the population growth is lower than the global average.

2. Dude should have kept his eyes averted, clearly wildlife orientation classes are needed.

Perhaps you should read more about the elephants. I can help you. Start with these:

The African bush elephant (Loxodonta africana) can be considered as a vulnerable animal species, but it is not a threatened species by any definition. There are hundreds of thousands of elephants in the wild, and their population seems to be increasing steeply. On the other hand, the elephant population growth is threatening the survival of other critically endangered species, such as the Black rhinoceros, African wild dog, and Blue wildebeest. With the reduction in habitat (as a result of the African population explosion), the elephants are putting an ever increasing load on the remaining native vegetation, and the species which depends on this vegetation.
Two things....

It is sad but you have to realize that many of them are extremely poor and poorly educated. Their priorities are for the simpler necessities that we take for granted.

Save the animals! More than 7 billion humans already destroying this planet. Don't be selfish - have less kids! Provide free contraceptives and sterilization to people WORLD-wide and give people that choice. Do something to address human OVER-population, over-consumption, resource depletion, habitat destruction, over-fished waters, desertification, pollution, species extinction, war, etc.
the folks who need to stop having kids wont have internet access to read this, savages as they are

Zimbabwe rangers have found 22 elephants that were poisoned with cyanide. They also recovered 22 elephant carcasses in the Sinamatela area yesterday and so far we have also recovered 35 tusks.Mainly they do the business of tusks and exported. This is destroying our wildlife.
40 dead elephants killed in a weeks time, Where are all the crusaders who were calling for the dentist/hunter to be jailed or even killed? Don't they have anything to say about this?

That was an American.
Calling for action against poor Africans doesn't attract the same media attention.
yeah!! Just get these animals out of Africa , if Africa does not want to protect its iconic animals what other choice is there . Do they think there is an never ending gift of Bull elephants Bull rhinos and male lions growing on trees ? Don't they know what extinction of these animals will do to their culture ??

It happens basically for money. They get so easy money with this.
And I guess it is not even hard, probably they won't be caught.

These people do these things as a means to escape poverty. I would probably consider doing this sort of business if I were making $1-2 a day too.

well is truth that all those things happen in 2015, i mean that some guys made some money about it, because in the end that's the final reason.

News like this make me hate myself being a human. Every other species on this planet is living in harmony and peace with this planet. The human is planet earth's cancer!!
Only we kill and destroy for profit.

that's exactly what i was talking about, if we "humans" really want to stop it there is nothing that can stop us, but the truth is that there is someone who don't want it, so as i said, is sad that an human kill an animal for money, but is more sad that we humans did not stop humans who want to do it.

It's hard to find anything to say about people using cyanide to indiscriminately kill wild elephants for money. This is our species....
